Angie happily helped me while training another team member with another patron. She noticed that the customer before us left her jacket in her cart by the counter. Angie excused herself and hurried outside to catch her before she left the parking lot. When she returned, she asked if I needed anything else and I had been looking at the banner advertising and remembered my best friend needed one made for this weekend. I bought a few small notepads for my mom at Staples today. When I got home, I reviewed the receipt because the total seemed unusually high. I realized the $21.99 charge was for 5x8 notepads, which no longer have price tags on the items themselves. After checking Amazon, I found similar notepads for about half the price--or less, with many around $7. I admit I should have checked prices more carefully, but I didn't expect such a large markup from Staples. The service and product quality are above average, but the value simply isn't there. I'll only shop here in the future if I don't have time to order online. That said, the young woman who answered my questions on the phone afterward was polite and cheerful. I went to Staples for, now get this: STAPLES and a STAPLER. I needed a Swingline 60 that can staple 60 sheets effortlessly. This store's section that is dedicated to their namesake, staples and staplers, was a section that was four feet wide, with only a few cheap staplers in the section. It was like walking into a Burger King and asking for a Whopper, and seeing that they only had chicken sandwiches for sale. Thank goodness for Amazon. I would like to recommend this location due the outstanding customer service provided by Allison. We went there to get some printing/laminating handled and Allison was professional in answering our questions and offering tips to help on the item. My wife and I were "WOW'D" by her professionalism, communication not only with us but the other customers, and offering suggestions. Laya came over almost when we finished and again, we noticed her customer service was outstanding with us and the other customers! The state of American retail is really interesting right now. Because there's literally nothing in this store that I can't just order from Amazon and have arrive the same day or the next morning by 7 AM. So when entering a brick and mortar, it seems odd to me that store managers aren't encouraging employees to be helpful. I don't mean helpful in the sense of smiley faces kissing ones rear end or anything like that. I just mean, being basically polite when responding to questions, not quipping short angry answers and not even making eye contact. Really bad customer service. The robotic and dehumanizing nature in which the employees at the store speak to customers makes me wonder how these places even stay in business at all. Prices are higher than what they are on Amazon and I was not helped in what I needed to find, so two trips to two different Staples and I give up. I'll just order what I need online. Be careful in selecting this Staples to get your TSA pre-check. We had an appointment at 4:00 for me and 4:30 for my husband Monday June 23. I called the store on Friday to make sure everything was a go. We left work early in the afternoon, drove 30 miles to Staples. When we got there, there was no TSA person, they had no showed. I went to the printing area when i asked this older man if i could have 2 sample business cards as I was told over the phone they could do that for me. he said very rudely and hostile that "We dont just give you that for free so you can go have someone else make it for you and not pay us" I said okay could you just print it out so i could see what it looks like on the card and you can throw it out right after showing me. He said ok, but then printed it out on a regular paper. That's literally not helpful at all. I walked into this location to inquiry about some printing services. Hailey was the employee on duty and was working in the back and just yelled out "I'm not taking anymore orders". Ok that's not why I'm here. I have a question. She was very put out by that and developed a very strong attitude and said "So ask your question" in the rudest most indignant way possible. Due to this latest interaction I have decided that Office Depot just around the corner will be my go to for office supplies. Used to be the number 1 copy and print center until everyone left..some went to on site clients of Staples but the truth is no one seems to care any longer. There is no training, no management, and no way to communicate any issues. I now know why, even though this Staples is in an affluent area, it does not get any any good reviews. After a day of working late, I rushed to the nearest Staples and got to their door by 8:58pm (they close at 9pm) only to find they they had already locked the doors. Mind you, security bar was not yet locked probably because they were not supposed to be closed. To top it off, the "kind" gentleman pretended to not hear my knocks on their door even though he was standing no more than 5 feet away from it. He proceeded to ignore me for the next 2 minutes then promptly at 9pm, came to the door, dropped the security bar, and locked it. I could not believe the blatant disrespect a Staples worker would have for one of its customers. I brought to his attention that he had ignored me for the last 2 minutes and he said "you just got here, I just saw you walk up, were closed, have a good night!" This Staples has the WORST customer service. I had an order online and expected my shipment to come in on 2/15. I called at 11 AM today to check if it was available but the store associate stated that the rep who is able to check it is not available. She wrote down my name and number to call back. It has been 2 hours and I still have not received a call back. To follow up I called at 1 and got the same EXACT message. I don't understand how store associates cannot simply go to their stock area to see if my package has arrived or not. Also, when I tried to speak to a manager, there wasn't one available. read more

This has been my go to location for printing for almost a decade. I dropped of my latest print job this morning. I was surprised to learn that to wait 10 minutes for my order would now cost me $3.00 more. I decided to come back and pick it up later. After I left, I received a call to let me know there was a problem with my order. The salesperson told me that I had corrupted my PDF files when I merged several files into one. Only one problem with his statement, I had given them several separate files. It was in fact the Staples staff that had combined all my files to make it easier for them to print. They are the ones that corrupted the files, not me. I canceled my order and went to FedEx Office instead. FedEx completed my order in less than 10 minutes and charged me $5.00 less than Staples. They have good products but customer service is horrible! We ordered a heavy item which they particularly said would be delivered into our home. It was finally delivered by a FedEx truck with one person who needed our help to unload it. It was extremely difficult and we were not prepared for that. When I called to ask why this happened all he said was "they shouldn't have told you it would be delivered inside since we don't know if it's coming from the warehouse or via FedEx/UPS, only warehouse can bring it in". I said can you do something for our trouble since we were told it would be brought in and he said "you were given false information, what do you want me to do about it?" Usually a decent store will say "sorry for your trouble and the misinformation, let me do something for you" but not this guy. Basically they can tell us whatever misinformation they want to make the sale and we just have to live with it. Even though the products are good only go there if you are going to take it with you. This location is the worst Staples I have every been in. There is always a limited supply of items stocked in the store, which means I have to order online. I love to shop online just like everyone else, but sometimes there are items I need on the fly and can't wait for delivery. I always have to wait in line at this location, as there is never enough help to get you waited on in a timely manner. The customer service desk, I have waited there and never been approached by any one in the store for assistance. Visited your Staples store today along with everyone else school shopping and to drop off a flashdrive with 2 books that I need printed, the Service Rep. in the print center was very knowledgeable and made sure she got all the info. to print the documents. We then proceeded to look for our still needed school items., talked to several customer service people to locate sales items etc., very nice and even got a ladder and pulled a box from the top to accomadate us., Got to the register to check out and some of the things we had gotten rang up wrong and some were not immediate rebates and I had her put them back, the bookbag we bought had not tags on it., she had to call someone to get a price check., still she was very nice and didn't get upset., the gentleman that went to get the price check actually hurried to get us the price., all in all was a good trip even with all the people doing last minute school shopping. Interacted with approx. 6 or 7 reps in one trip and were all great. I think you need to take them to Walmart and teach them some Customer Service., just decided I would change the way I wanted my book printed and called and guess what., they were supposed to be ready by 10am and she is finished printing them already and she was very nice as well.
