This Staples location in Gilroy saved me! We were out on location and one of the big cameras ran out of storage on the SD Card and I need another real fast. You'd think I'd have spare ones, but I didn't, so I yelped office supplies and found this Staples just off the 101 pretty nearby. Coming from the south just get off at Leavesley Re and go straight past the Denny's and head towards the Home Depot and Staples is just to the left. First thing I do, instead of wandering all over looking for the SD cards, is get some service and jus task, where they are. I was shown and picked out a couple of 256 GB cards and some red Sharpie markers. Check out was fast, credit card worked good, tap and pay! I'm glad this place was here, save my ass! So apparently I'm the newest staples employee out in Gilroy all the way from Arizona. My mother in law called me and asked for my help to look something up that should have taken a staples employee 2 minutes. Manger Quinten at the San Ysidro Staples location told my mother in law with full dismissive passive aggression, when she went in to ask about her printer, that she had to google it herself. In all my years of customer service and hospitality, what kind of shit customer service is that? Staples you should be ashamed for training your employees to be lazy and disrespectful. Shout out manager Quinten, Quentin or however you spell that man's name for blatantly being rude and dismissive to a customer coming into the place of business where you work asking for YOUR help. Instead you want to tell them to do your job for you while you're too busy flirting with a coworker that you can't tend to your customers properly. I went there to return an Amazon purchase and was in and out in a short amount of time.

I have been a customer at Staples gilroy for 15 years. I have never had anything but pleasant service from the store workers. Accept in the UPS shipping area. It is always hit or miss with how the workers in the shipping part of the store treat your parcels. For example this morning I dropped off 2 boxes at the UPS shipment desk at 9:30 am for UPS pick up at 3 pm. I was shocked at how blatantly the young lady took each of my parcels and just dropped the boxes onto the floor without any regard to what could possibly be inside. I told the young lady I am glad there wasn't anything breakable inside my boxes. She smiled and said have a good day. I drop off parcels at this location from time to time and half the time my parcels are treated respectfully and carefully. I will not drop off at this location anymore. read more

It started off well. The lady in the print center is very nice and helpful; I give her 10 stars. The lady at the register was slightly rude. The guy who was assisting me said he would come to the print center to inform me when the $500.00++ Epson printer would be back in stock, but he never did. I had to go and find him myself. I also overheard the lady at the register talking to him about how I was unhappy about being ignored. I told her I could hear her, which I believe she didn't realize. I needed 1 document printed for work and I tried to print from my car and pick up to avoid humanoid contact and but it would have not been ready for 7 hours!!! I walked in nervous because my social skills are lacking but to my surprise I was greeted kindly and felt right at home. I went to Staples to drop off a box for UPS and encountered one of the rudest people at the UPS counter. From the moment I walked up she was extremely rude and appeared to be very angry. I always believe you never know what's going on in a persons life so I try to be kind . I walked up and said hello and handed my package to her she grabbed it and was clearly very angry and didn't acknowledge the hello so I said I'm sorry you're having a bad day I hope it gets better. With that things got even worse ! I thought she was handing me a paper but when I tried to take it she grabbed it back with such anger, I explained that I had never dropped a package off so I didn't know the process and she said " I never said you did " I did tell her how incredibly rude she was. Probably the wrong thing to say to an already angry person. She became more irate. I can't believe Staples has someone like this working with the public. I went to talk to the Manager and he told me that I escalated the situation by telling her " I hope you have a better day" I was already very upset and the manager I felt was blowing me off and blaming me ! He was twisting my words and it was just the craziest experience I've encountered in quite some time. He said he was giving her a written warning so I'm assuming this wasn't the first time she had treated a customer this way. I purchased a pair of Powerbeats headphones for my wife online, but she didn't like the color. When I went into the store today to return them for a refund "Katie" told me they can't accept returns on anything that touches the facial area. I advised her that I did not receive that warning when I purchased them, and then she pointed to a sign on the counter. I read it and it clearly says "opened items" not eligible for returns, and I never opened the package. I reminded her that I hadn't opened the item, and that the sign states "opened items", but all she could say is "that's our policy right now." I demanded to speak to the manager and she called someone, advised if the issue and she then initiated my return. Disgusting customer service This afternoon I went to fax some papers. I got greeted by a big white girl with long red hair. Very nasty attitude from the get go. I simply asked for help since it was my first time faxing documents. The machine was supposed to walk me through the process, however there were no instructions on the machine. Good bye to my staples family. I went into Staples on October 1st, to print documents from my email/iPhone. I made several attempts to print my documents however it would not print regular Font size. The staff recommended along with the supervisor to try print from the computer instead of using my iPhone to email to the printer. Their recommendation did not work. Both Computer and printer is very slow and none of the staff or management knows how to troubleshoot to help customers. NO MORE!!! I will no longer spend my money at Staples. My terrible motel didn't pay their internet bill, and I needed wi fi and printing a,s.a.p!. Well these guys got me out of a pickle,they were SO kind and took me through every step of printing from my tablet and phones. They went over backwards for me, and checked on me throughout. Went in for passport photos. Skye did a great job. He was calm and patient. Took a few photos. Showed us on computer. One set came out shiny so he retook the photos. Again showed on computer and fine tuned to our satisfaction. After printing he cut them to standard size. He was kind and pleasant and took his time with us ti ensure we were happy. We are. Today, my boss sent me to Staples to buy office chairs for the management department. I went in where I found a chair on clearance. I asked for help & was assisted by Jen who told me they had 4 of the same chair on clearance so I bought three of them. She was pleasant, helpful & personality assisted me from beginning to finish. She (by herself) used a cherry picker & took down two big heavy boxes from the top shelf in the furniture department. Went to the back stock room to get another chair. Used a U cart (dolly) to take all 3 chairs to the register & processed my transaction & helped me load them into my vehicle. Wish we had more customer service people like her. When you walk into this store it appears clean until you get to the back of the store. Ewww dust! There is a wall of different types of paper which is pretty cool. The kind of paper you turn into resumes or business cards. They were pretty expensive. $30-$40 a box! You know it would have been nice if you could find an employee to help you here. Oh well. I picked out a hole puncher and stapler with staples set. Really cheap. The stapler broke later on, sigh. I went to the register to purchase my things. There was two people behind the counter and no line. As I was putting my items down. The cashier left to the office. I stood there waiting to be helped by the other employee. Finally I asked can you help me. She said oh I don't know how to do that I'll go get someone. She also heads to the office and another minute or so goes by. Really inappropriate and unprofessional. The store manager is by far the best I have ever encountered, hands down! I have been going there for years and started using them when I opened my business 6 years ago. I initially had an issue with a girl who used to work in the copy and print center. Her customer service was not up to par, to say the least! But the store manager took me in the back room, listened intently to everything I had to say (regarding the price on the business cards I was getting done there), and did not interrupt. He did not side with the employee or blame me somehow as other managers at other stores often do! He held eye contact and looked genuinely concerned about the situation. He also took notes, very good. Afterwards, he called me to follow up as promised. He gave me the discounted price I was initially promised and soon the problem girl no longer worked there. The sweet girl in the print center-Jackie-even called me personally to let me know that I can come in for more services and that she would be taking care of my needs from that point on if I wanted, which I accepted! I used them for the next 5 years for business cards and employee of the months plaques, etc. After the rude employee had left, I never had another problem with any of the employees there and they have always done any copy and print order I sent them in a timely manner and to the best of their abilities! They are very talented also, esp Jackie! I recommend this store and their knowledgeable and friendly staff to anyone who is searching for a store with class! I would like to take the time to recognize an employee of this location who has gone above and beyond on a few occasions for my father. Nikole has assisted my computer & internet illiterate Dad from start to finish with every task he needs assistance with. Her patience and empathy are a rare sight in customer service. We all know how trying it can be to help an older person with extremely important tasks when they don't know how to use a computer. While I live in another state and don't have the privilege of thanking Nikole in person, the least we could do is let other people know what kind of employees are at Staples Gilroy. I must give this store the highest of the highest of kudos. We ordered a printer 7 months ago from Staples.com, online. Bought the 2 year Product Repair Warranty (administered by 3rd party service party Assurant, who will be getting a piece of my mind after I finish writing this). It (the printer) started misbehaving. We could not get any true, solution oriented help from Staples.com, Assurant, or Xerox. The floor supervisor at Assurant even told me I had an illustrious past!!! WHOA! OK, so maybe I do, but how does she know??? So my manager stomped down to this Staples. Where they promptly helped, more than they even had reason to. We will be getting a new printer soon, and all of this from a location that had nothing to do with the purchase of the item in question. THANK YOU!!! Since moving here for work a few months ago, Staples has become my print and office supply store. First all employees are professional and helpful and generally friendly. Management is attentive and involved. But its the folks in the print shop that are my reason for going back. My jobs are done quickly and without error till now. I think what stands out about the print shop employees is that they are thinking how best to help the customer find what they want and need. I wish I could give zero stars after my experience today. I brought in my Christmas letter to have photocopied double-sided onto green paper. The copy-area supervisor was sitting behind the counter, and there was no one else in the copy area, so clearly not a busy day. I asked for 110 copies, and she asked me if I wanted it for today or tomorrow. Given that the job would take five, maybe ten minutes, I said today. She said that it would cost $33 to have them today or $26 tomorrow. I questioned this difference, but she shrugged and said it's now policy and that the computers were changed a couple of months ago, so I would be charged accordingly at pickup. I asked to speak to the manager, who came over, and I explained the situation. She smiled and nodded and said, well, we're giving you a choice. I suggested that the next time that she meets with corporate that she should point out the ridiculousness of this policy and that in the amount of time spent discussing it, the job could have been completed. She just smiled and nodded and said that I had the choice... or I could buy a 500-sheet ream of paper and photocopy it myself on their machines, which would cost $48. I also suggested that I could do the job myself, but the supervisor informed me that I wouldn't be allowed to handle the "special paper" that they keep behind the counter. In the end, I found a local printer who completed the task in under five minutes (I actually timed him!) and for $21.56. Staples will not be getting my business again. read more

HEY Alicia (BCS) at staples. take notice. i took my wife's I7plus phone in get fixed. it had a cracked screen. no big deal. i paid $200 and when i picked it up, the screen was not responding to touch. my wife returned it a second time and explained to "Manuel" the problem. he acknowledged the issues and my wife went to pick it up a few hours later. the phone was missing a few screws and was not working well. my wife was upset it wasn't fixed a second time and said she would return the phone next day. i took the phone in the following am and told "Manuel" that the reverse screen function was not working and lower keys (txting) were not responding well. my wife went to get it (third time) and Manuel told my wife that they could not duplicate the problem after i showed them. thus is unacceptable work for the $$ i paid fir the repair. i should not return the phone 3 times to get the repair done correctly. the tech staff lacks experience and common customer courtesy. not a happy camper. its been a month since this posting and no response from BCS (business customer service) ANYBODY OUT THERE FROM STAPLES MANAGEMENT?? read more

I would love to say that the service at this staples is not so great. I have needed to print multiple resumes and was told it is a flat rate of $10.00 through the marketing email, and another flat $5.00 rate for the self serve printer. Pay in mind im only printing 4 sheets which comes out to $1.70. I know this because I have to drive to another city over in Morgan Hill California which gives exceptional service and allows me to print through their verified email. I would only recommend if you want not so great service. This is the second time I have been back and have been ignored or as if Im bothering the employees when I have a question to ask.
