Came in to get some playing cards I ordered lamented and after they did them the process did not work but, the manager Johnathan had me reorder them and paid for the new ones to be sent out. As soon as I got them in he had them lamented properly and they came out great! Stephen was the associate that got them done right and handled all my questions and needs! Well the Date Of Visit was April 8 2019 And I came here to look for a Printer and as I walk in I was greeted and ask if I needed any help !! So I took the advantage and I ask the associate if they carry any Laser Printers and he showed me where it was also I ask him how much is Toner and I was quite surprise how much it was !! It was like 45 Dollars So I was thinking ok that is less expensive then ink for a normal printer !! This is your typical Office supply store which carries items such as Paper , Pens , Pencils, Computers , Laptops , Printers , Office Chairs , Ink for your printers . The store was fairly clean and there are even a self serve Print area for you to print that special Document or picture. It carries even more items but I do suggest you take a look for yourself !! It is located in Mission Valley and There is plenty of parking !! This location is not busy so you do feel like you got the whole store to yourself !! Overall great store for all your Office Needs !! $10 to print out 5 sheets of black and white documents because their computer is so laggy that it takes you 5+ minutes to get to your original document and then they tell you it's 50¢ for black and white but charge you color price at $1 a sheet. ridiculous. it's like 20¢ a piece or less at fedex. and faster. read more

Finding a staff member to assist you can sometimes be a bit of a hunt, but once you do they've all been wonderful. Recently I had an emergency for my small business and had to come in for a new printer cartridge and a few quick prints, in a major time crunch. I was so frazzled I just deferred to them for extra help with both and they probably thought I was a bit loopy but they were so patient. I've come to the conclusion that this so called "Easy Button" does not exist, but at least at this location there isn't a "Way Harder Than It Has To Be" button like most Staples I've experienced. I called in ahead to have a document printed on cardstock. 10 minutes later I arrived to pick it up and it was not ready. I can understand if the store was slammed or something, but it was apparent that the staff just forgot to print it. The point of calling something in is so you can avoid waiting inside the store, which did not happen on this visit. Guess I forgot to hit the "Easy Button." At least the clerk was really friendly and quick to admit the mistake. She dropped the project she was working on and printed what I needed so I was able to get out of their ASAP. Besides the always-underachieving customer service the store itself is actually pretty clean and well organized so for that I'll give them an extra star. I'll still avoid Staples altogether, but I guess if I'm in MV with printing needs I won't be so pissed off if I have to come here. read more

Thank you to Jonathan and Jon for their excellent customer service. I had problems printing onto my printer when I changed out the toner for my HP LaserJet and so I called the Staples that I purchased it from for assistance. Mind you, I purchased the printer and toner back in June 2019. The back up toner wasn't working. Their manager, Jonathan, suggested that I bring my printer and toner in to see the problem. After several attempts of troubleshooting, his technician, Jon, was able to figure out the problem. It was just the file that was corrupted instead of the printer or toner! I would never have figured that out. Thank you for taking the time to figure out the problem! It was worthwhile bringing everything in to find out what happened. read more

Unfortunately this location probably has the least helpful staff of all stores. Between only giving you one way to print, which is emailing a document you have saved on your phone to waiting at least 5 minutes just to have someone look at you as your standing at the print desk. This place is place is a joke. We took a computer for screen problem (video card reset) they outsourced the job to another company, who decided to format the hard drive (without asking us if we backed up our stuff) they returned the computer to us BLANK and will not take responsibility for their mistake. One of their employees told me how ashamed he was of what this company did, and that this same mistake happened more than once that very same week, that I should call the store manager and explain the situation in order to get our money back. I spent 2 weeks calling store managers in hopes that someone took responsibility for this, all I got was: "Sorry! We made a mistake and formated your drive and we got your money already. so good luck suckers!" DO NOT COME HERE, these people are thieves. read more

I rarely use on demand printing services but this weekend I had a hairshow to attend in Long Beach and Stephen and the other associates on the print service team did an amazing job. They really went above and beyond even though they were busy and backed up with print orders which isn't usual. They got my flyers printed, bound my book and were able to do a sample print on my business cards since there was some issue with the file dimensions. I definitely look forward to doing more business with Staples. Thanks again it made my day. read more

Terrible customer service! I sent 3 awards to be printed in color..... 3 pages... I'm no printing expert but I feel as if this is a simple task. 22 min later (no I didn't hit 2 twice on accident) I was handed the awards completely off center. The guy apologized and said I can redo that for a fee! I asked what the fee was for and he said "for all the clicks I have to do"........WHAT? Ok fine go ahead. At this point I either pay for terrible off-center printing or I pay extra. He asked why I looked confused..... Welp you had ONE job... Anyway he then told me that I can't get the finished copy at that time because they were about to close. "I'm sorry sir you close at 9....it's 842......." He explained that he would not be able to finish in time! Again, finish in time???? It's 3 copies Anyway I hope Office Depot will be a better fit. read more

If you give your phone number to the copy center, so they can call you when your order is ready, you will get a million phone calls from some call center wanting you to do a survey about your order until you finally answer the phone. They don't leave voicemails. This is, obviously, really annoying. Also - I needed 2" view binders, and they didn't have any in stock. It seems more like a school supply store than an office supply store - if you need supplies that an actual office, not children, use, they don't have what you need. read more

This store has a manager that truly values customer service!! This evening I arrived in store with a peculiar transaction (return for an online PO), I personally had tried to return the items on my own with the Staple's Customer Service line and got little help but mostly a ring around. Initially, because the transaction was so peculiar, it didn't seem like i would be able to return my items, and was getting frustrated. Rudy however is attentive to what is going on in his store and quickly swooped in. You know what he said after to me? He apologized for the misinformation and service from the customer service line (which is No way his fault), Rudy refunded my money AND said he would take care of properly returning the products on his own time. It's really hard to give 1 star. The store is really clean! That's the only positive thing I can say. The 3 guys up front don't act like they care to be working there. Never acknowledge customers. When I went to pay tonight, the biggest of the 3 never smiled or said hi. He TAPPED the counter for me to be "summoned" to him. When I said what the f**k, he then said " oh you can put it here". Not much can really be said about a corporate cash cow and this particular store, is no better or worse than any other ones that I've been in (customer service, products, etc). It's all about supply and demand and they make sure they provide you with retail pricing. There's some stuff that may look to be a deal with an "in-store only" or with some rebate stuff. But in reality, it's just a ploy. They now got you to go inside the store where chances are, you'll purchase some other stuff or just get you to purchase in bulk with that rebate, knowing very well that there's plenty of people who either forget or are too lazy to redeem. Of course there's an expiration date on those things. You won't get your money back that easy. Nope, that red easy button doesn't work in this case. Most of us small businesses, work-from-home, non-corporate folks are at their beckon call. It's quite upsetting yet you best believe that when the printer runs out of ink or paper, or open up the cabinet and see that last stack of folders are down to just one, my behind goes in there and readily forks up that mula. I have been shopping at the Staples for over two years now since I returned back to San Diego even when there used to be a Staples closer to my house. I have never had an issue and they have always been very efficient and friendly. However I had purchased a Groupon to do holiday cards this year, typically without incident as in previous years, but this year was little different. I received a phone call the day that I placed my order to inform me that the color is I chose for font was not legible. And I proceeded to call them back but the person handling my printing job was with other customers. And then 5 days later I never received a call back. So upon my entry into the store to pick up my order or figure out status I learned that it was not printed and they apologized. The other issue I came across was I for some reason to not login to my account and therefore cannot make any changes. The staff, possibly manager, was able to update my color front so that it was legible and apologized for the delay and was able to print my project while I waited. It was extremely professional and very good problem-solving skills to help aid and facilitates finalizing the project. The way that it was handled I will definitely be coming back here and it's understandable that things happen people get busy it is the holidays and especially in my line of work, which is essentially customer service, I'm very pleased with how the situation was handled. read more

ADVICE: DO NOT PRINT from the computer !! It is twice more than the self served printer. I was overcharged using the computer. It said .50 cent for black and white BUT was charged for color ! So 11pgs. Cost me $22 bcuz it charged me color. Eve Though the receipt said B&W. So I tried the self service one where you email it to the printer. And it was .20 cent. 15pgs cost me around $3 lmaoo. So I ask the "supervisor" that's unfair and that I said there should be a sign for the cost for the self service. And she told me they couldn't do that or advertised it. She kept arguing with me that I printed color even though i showed her what i printed and was clearly B&W. I told her i can show her on the computer. But she refused and said "glitch" (but other reviewers experienced the same thing) But yet they have the cost for the computer ?!? Mm ok. So just FYI they are out for your money. And yes I made a big deal so I got half of my money back from when I used the computer. Would definitely go to fedex or Office Depot. Never again. Ripped off !! read more

I came to Staples three minutes from closing on a week night. And it was very nice of them to let me in anyways! They probably don't want me spreading that all around the internet, but here goes... I came in specifically for a magnifier for my daughter and a book stand for studying. A staff member was gracious enough to help us find the magnifier and book stand. They had a perfect page sized magnifier, but no book stand. That's ok! Finding a magnifier was big enough! We managed to get out of there in a jiffy and didn't hold up the store past closing time. Horrible customer service at Staples in Mission Valley. I go in and ask for a spiral bind that takes less than a minute and they tell me 48 hours because they have other jobs... Meanwhile two staff are shooting the breeze chatting... I said, oh you guys have too much business and are trying get people to go to your competitor... Ok i can do that, and i went down the street to FedEx Kinkos who welcomed me with a smile, knocked it out in less than a minute and asked me to please come again... And I will! District manager and store manager made contact today and provided awesome service recovery... Awesome read more

The gentleman in front of me was talking with the cashier for a good 10-15 minutes. When it was finally my turn, the cashier turns to a lady who just approaches the register and asks "Can I help you find something?" This conversation goes on for a casual 15 minutes about decorative boxes.. I'm standing right in between the cashier and this woman as they joke about how measurements can throw off an entire project? I was probably in line to buy my stuff for a good 30 minutes. Why did I wait in line? I should've just approached the register like that woman to buy my stuff. read more

I used to have an open relationship with office supply stores, but I am now going steady with this Staples :) I've always had a great experience at this Staples. It does not occur to me to frequently review office supply stores, but the manager, Mike Chau, really makes the customer service stand out here. He really helped in making the best choice in my business cards (which were printed within 30 minutes!), and when I needed a price adjustment on a floor model chair I purchased, he was very understanding and greatly helped me in adjusting the price...even when I walked in just 1 minute before closing on Sunday night. read more

Instantly her response was the color copy machine is down, we can only print black & white. Wait what?... And the guy that fixes it doesn't work on the weekends. Freakin' fabulous. I came here with two coworkers with various goals: (1) each of us needed a set of affordable business cards for a conference we're attending and (2) one of my coworkers needed a large presentation poster printed immediately. We went straight to copy and print area and were greeted immediately. We orginally began our work with the manager and then Katie came in, and frankly she is like the best thing that EVER happened to a copy and print center. She helped each of us individually with our business card designs, layouts, and making them professional yet fun. She also helped our friend with his poster and working out the kinks to make sure it printed beautifully (and it did). I've done most of my professinal copy and print stuff at kinkos and never recieved such wonderful customer service as I experienced with katie. She even wrote us each a personal note on our quality checklist and wished us each the best in our careers. read more

Quality of Service is great! The staff is knowledgeable and sincere. Of course they employ their upselling tactics, but that is strictly business sense. This place was busy, so there were no workers available to help me find a few items. Make sure to sign up for their free rewards card. I got a few discounts that I didn't even see on the shelf or price tag. This location has the most parking spots that I've ever seen. read more
