This company scammed us and refused to stand behind their work. They installed a new ice maker in July to replace ours that stopped working. While the new ice maker worked, it made way too much ice. It seemed to be a minor adjustment issue so a few weeks after the installation (in August) I called the company back to inquire about them fixing the issue that started after they installed the new ice maker. They didn't respond. We called again several times in September and October (all within their 90-day warranty period) and still got no response despite leaving messages indicating we were calling about a past job. We called again last Tuesday and left yet another message. No response. I called AGAIN today on a whim. The only difference this time was that when leaving the message I didn't say we were calling about a previous job (I made it sound like a new job, whereas in all the past messages we indicated that we were calling about work they had already done). This time, I got a call back. I explained we had been trying to reach them since August (and we have the phone records to prove it) and that no one had been calling us back. He insisted that they received no messages from us. I explained the situation and he said that they would only come out if we paid a service fee because we were outside their 90-day warranty period. I explained that we had the call records to prove we had been trying to reach them since August and had left multiple messages. There's no way I'm paying a company to fix a minor problem that they created. It's weird that they only called us back when we left a message pretending it was a new request for service. read more

Called him to come out and look at a fridge the door was not shutting properly. It literally took him 3 min to fix it and charged $125. After he left we noticed our flooring had gashes in it. where he pulled the fridge out. BTW the flooring is brand new not even 3 weeks old. When I called him back he was extremely rude and short with me saying it was on the customer that the wheels on the fridge were not straight. When I asked him why he didn't mention to me that this could be an issue and it could cause damage to the floor, he had no sympathy and said it was on us. I called Star Appliance for my GE washing machine. It was filling with water but it was not agitating or spinning. The tech came within a reasonable amount time. My concern was his troubleshooting skills. He told me that I needed a motor /control board. I had bought the machine from Craigslist and I was very disappointed. When he left I googled my issue and GE recommended resetting the motor by unplugging for one minute, turn the machine on and open and close the top 6 times within 12 seconds. After I completed these steps the machine started agitating with no problems. This was a basic troubleshooting step that the tech should have done at the house. I have worked with John on three separate occasions. He has professionally served us on repairs/issues related to our refrigerator (he honestly told us to replace instead of repairing a costly part - this suggestion made him no money/$0), dishwasher, and our washing machine. I called star appliance to repair my LG washer. They were quick to schedule an appointment, which was good. The disappointing part about the service was that the tech declared that the machine needed a Sensor and a "control board" which was no more produced by the company, so you have to buy a new washing machine. I spoke to another appliance repair company and they told me that control board should not be a problem, but only the sensor. They came and replaced the sensor and the washer is working fine. I would have ended up spending lots of money to buy a new washer ( and a matching dryer) due to the misdiagnosis of the company tech. read more

John replaced our ice maker for $295 and it took him about 20 minutes. Three months later it malfunctioned and makes a loud knocking noise before dropping ice. He offered to replace the defective ice maker for $250. I tried to explain that an ice maker should last longer than 3 months, but he wouldn't budge and insisted that we pay $250, which is ridiculous. I found the identical ice maker on Amazon for $40 and we replaced it ourselves. If my cost is $40, John probably gets them for $20. read more
