I had a really miserable experience with all my car problems (don't we all?). My Durango started smoking really bad so I took it to a shop that did my oil changed... huge mistake. I kept getting charged hundreds of dollars just to be told that's what it would take just to LOOK at it. I started to call around and found a shop close to home. This is where Don at Star Auto Care became my knight in shining armor. From the first phone call to when I showed up at his shop, it was like a scene from a movie where I'm walking in slow motion and he's there at the right place, at the right time. He listens to my frustrations and understands my trust issues with having someone just "look" at my car. He assures me that he'll take it apart as needed and charged me a very fair price - and told me that price would go towards the balance if I decided to go with his shop. Very fair. He looked at it within a very short time and came to the rescue again with good news (I was seriously worried that I needed a new transmission but it ended up being a water pump failure situation). So... it's only obvious that you bite the bullet and take the your car to the dealership. But honestly, who walks around with extra thousands of dollars? Not me. This is where Don comes to the rescue of many hardworking Las Vegans. He'll give you the breakdown of all of your car problems and no pressure to go with him. He charges a VERY fair price. Star auto has had my vehicle since sept 8, 2022. It took 3 months for the vehicle to be completed and since then there have been numerous issues with the quality of work that has been done. I've expressed concern about the lack of professionalism and the poor quality of work to the owner Don multiple times. He has continually promised the car will be perfect every time I've had to take the car back to his shop. From sept to Dec he tried releasing the car to me 3 times in an incomplete state. Finally once the car was released there has been issues with the hood, panel alignment and a rattling noise. I've pointed out that the front bumper was not aligned and Don confirmed that the clips were not properly holding the bumper in its place. This issue has yet to be fixed. Don asked me to bring the car in so he can take a look and each time there is a piece that is bent broken or worn leading the vehicle to need more work. The latest issue with the hood has me fearing for my safety. The hood rattles while the car is in motion as if it is loose and could possibly pop open at any given time. I've expressed safety concerns and there has been no in-depth inspection by Star Auto. I've taken the car back for this issue 3 times and each time he gives a different reason for the issue. Not only has Star auto demonstrated lack of knowledge and accountability in the outcome of the repairs but they have also shown a lack of competence in repairing the car which is troublesome and a hazard to one's safety. read more

April 2023, I was charged only 650.00 for my master cylinder in reality the brake fluid was drained. They have been reliable, quick, walked us through the whole process with lots of transparency and gave me and my dad honest advices on what to do with his car. He initially thought the issue was limited in one area. After starting the repair and getting into the area, he found out that it was something different which would cost us 3x more to fix. That's a $4000 fix. The day AFTER they told us that, I went to get something from the car that I needed, they never even took the car in the shop. They didn't even take the engine apart. Unfortunately my car is old and has needed a lot of work in the recent months but luckily Star Auto Care is local and can help me get on the road pretty quickly. The passenger side door of my 2008 Chevy Cobalt would not shut securely. The mobile guy never returned my e-mail for help and my dealership said to wait for the upholstery department to come in a few days to look at it (???). I am a retired Service Mgr. and I am very leery about vehicle repair shops however I came across this shop and after talking to Don one of the owners I could tell from experience that he is an honest man, he got my vehicle in the shop right away for inspection, I had a very bad pulsation when applying the brakes and thought the worst brakes all the way around. After the inspection he told me that the front pads were worn and the rotors were grooved and the vibration was from excessive run out, now I already knew this but it was to my delight that he told me this, as I now have found an honest shop. So on with the repair we went, front pads and rotor replacement, I was expecting him to upsell me rear brakes but as it turned out they are fine, this is even more assurance that I found an honest shop. I also got a lube oil and filter service and the overall price was fair for the entire job. By far this is the greatest auto care place! as a woman, we always hear about being scammed because of being scammed into services we do not need or we get baited into a cost only to get the services done and then we are told a different price. I requested a quote about everything I needed to be done and he was nothing but honest in the pricing even the extra stuff I thought I might need. the repairs were amazing and great! and he even offered to give us quotes on the dents. My husband was the one who actually took the car in and he said that the shop and the service were by far the best he has ever seen that it was very homely and comfortable. Wow. What a great experience. Unexpected. First, I'm female. This is important for females visiting any type of auto installation. Call it what you want, but women get treated different at these kind of places. But here, man oh man am I surprised. The owner is welcoming. I felt at ease. He explains what he's going to do. He explains the price which compared to the dealership is more than fair. He gave me the timeframe. Of course, things happen and with a vehicle it may not always be so straight forward, but this was straight forward. I already set an appointment to come back and have more maintenance and even body work done. I just wanted an a/c service to make sure my a/c was operating effectively with no leaks or issues because it sounded funny recently. He is a fair and reasonable man and you can tell his passion is for vehicle care. I have a nissan sentra and he made me feel like my car was no less than luxury (which haha. We all know its not). I was shuttled back and force to my property.
