Overall this place did a great job for a great price on my truck. But one thing I do have to complain about is that when I got my truck returned the radio was no longer working when it was previously working when I dropped it off to them. I called and complained about it and they just denied that it was there fault. I now have to take it somewhere else to be repaired and pay more money when they were the ones who returned it broken. read more

Like some of the other reviewers here, I have my own story to tell. I had multiple leaks coming from my miata (yes, japanese car). A friend of mine suggested checking with Star Auto to see if they would be willing to help. I called and spoke to Gonzalo and explained my situation. I asked him if he can simply take a look at the car and give me an estimate. He called me back saying that there are at least 3 different leaks based on his assessment and gave me an estimate. It was less than what I had received from a couple of other places so i went ahead and decided to get them fixed. Upon working on the car however, he had noticed that there were only 2 places that need fixed (oil pan, gasket in the engine up front) so not only did he call me to give me the good news, he also revised his estimate and lowered several hundred dollars in the cost. His honesty not only saved me money, but also earned him a life long customer. He really values his customers and that tells a lot about his character and priorities. He explained everything well and it costed me half the money I was expecting to pay. I had few issues in addition to failed AC. Awesome service, awesome pricing! I have a confession, I let my car go without service for WAY too long. Primary reason, basic service D on my Benz was going to cost about $900 from usual place. Flash forward 6,000 miles later.... I start getting error messages about my air shocks... Vehicle rising, wait briefly. Decided to take my trip anyway... Ended up driving home 80 miles doing 30mph because both shocks were gone. Worst ride EVER. Quote from usual place, $4K +... I decided instead of selling my soul I would do some research. Saw Star auto with all 5 stars! Brought my car in and came out with a $1700 bill vs $4,000 +... Plus I had an oil leak and he did service as well as some other minor issues! Hallelujah. Great service with integrity being the core of the business. Brought my car here a couple of times and they did an amazing job fixing the problems and they are reasonably priced. I needed to replace a front headlight and BMW quoted me $200 plus. I called here and he said to bring it in. I'm not sure if it's because he has worked on my car before but they put it in at no charge. I don't know many auto repair places that take the time to help you with something even though there is no monetary gain for them. I want to them a 6 stars! I got some transmission problem and took my car in this morning, They were very busy but the only two technicians working today still spent time checking the problem. The tech supervisor did something and fixed the problem. He told me the rod was bent and he bent it back to normal. It should be OK now. Gonsalo even did a test drive. He did not charge me for anything , even for the time they both spent during these buzy hours. He told me just not to worry about it, if the same problem occurs , bring it back to replace the rod. I was so touched by their kindness and willing to help, like friends in the neighborhood. This is the place I would definitely come back to. Thank Gonsalo ( I guess this is his name) and the other Asian technician who fixed the problem. They are bravo! I had another incredible experience here last year. One of the signal light bulb went off, and I drove my car there for bulb replacement. The friendly and kind technician replaced the bulb right away and did it just for free. On April 1st, I took my 2002 C240 MB for a second time to Edwin at Star Auto as my alternator needed to be replaced. Knowing that I was in between jobs, Edwin found an alternator for $275, charged me $199 (the equivalent of his cost) plus 1.5 hr labor (vs. 2.0 hrs performed which included a complete diagnostic review) for a total charge of $389.00 (vs. market of $600 - $1100.00). I had a similar experience when I took my car to Edwin 4th Q15. It is always such a surprise to find a team like Edwin and Gonzolo who consistently go above and beyond - I have found them to be extremely professional, knowledgeable and honest to a fault - they don't take advantage of anyone - instead quite the reverse - they treat everyone with kindness and respect and in my case, they charged me 'below' market knowing that I am weathering a temporary, interim period. Edwin excels again! We took our '08 Lexus 400h to the dealer as they replaced the headlight assemblies for condensation problems (ongoing) which they have a service campaign for. Those things aren't cheap, probably a $3K job for a car worth maybe $10K resale. Good thing it was free. While there they gave us an estimate for brakes, tires, and we had a radiator leak. New radiator, brake job, ordinary oil service......$2800! When you see they wanted $1400 for 4 tires and alignment on the estimate, you pretty much know for sure you are getting hosed. Took it straight to Edmund, didn't ask for an estimate. New radiator, brakes, air filter, oil service $1250! Edmund doesn't do tires, but decent Michelins and an alignment from a nearby tire shop was had for under $800. That's $750 savings over the two services staying in my pocket. Woo-hoo! Dealerships are a ripoff. Star Auto does great work at a fair price. read more
