It's been a while since I've been to this place but it's an awesome spot. Usual fast food joint, but I'd say the food is above average of most fast food. The chicken is super juicy and there is a wide variety of soda options. The restaurant is super clean and has probably the cleanest fast food bathroom I've seen in my life. I always get the tender box here and it is quite good, especially for being gluten free. The Nashville hot flavor that I usually get can be a little inconsistent, as sometimes it is not as hot as I expected from previous times. The chicken is nicely crispy and juicy, though. I also really like the sauces here, especially the Korean Seoul spicy sauce and the truffle aioli. I believe that the classic star sauce and the bbq sauce are also quite good, and I am looking forward to trying the honey mustard. The fries are not particularly noteworthy but are still pretty good. I also get all fries instead of half fries half coleslaw because the coleslaw is not that good. Starbird has become our go-to emergency takeout for nights when we're hungry, stressed, and don't want to cook. It's our comfort food of comfort food. My wife has a gluten intolerance and I have an allergy to Canola oil. That limits our choices in places that we can both eat at. Happily, Starbird manages to avoid both deal breakers for us. Even better is that the breading on the chicken is amazing crispy and flavorful. They cut out the wheat flour, but it's not lacking for anything. I'm normally not a fan of kale, but I love the kale salad at Starbird. The speed of service is fast and the customer service is fantastic. We mostly stick to the crispy tenders and the buffalo wings. I've tried a bunch of their other menu items before, but nothing beats their tenders. So many of the menu items use the tenders as the main ingredient and to me it's not that different so I end up just defaulting to the tenders. The only item I've had that I wouldn't order again were the garden (meatless) tenders. Those had good texture when fresh, but were mostly flavorless and were dry and chewy when reheated. We went once in the past and we were not very impressed, but that time we only got chicken tenders. This time around we got the Starbird chicken sandwich and the katsu salad, as well as a kids meal and a tender/churro combo. The chicken was crispy, and would DEFINITELY recommend the salad, even if only to keep the whole meal from being brown. Fries were just crispy enough and well salted. Crisp and clean in design and decor, and plenty of "curb appeal" makes this location, in the Movie Theater courtyard, a stand-out. With plenty of outdoor seating available (ideal during COVID), enjoying a meal "out" is entirely possible...providing the weather cooperates and temperatures are relatively mild. Prior to the opening, I had the privilege of experiencing the pleasure of this Starbird's EXCELLENT Customer Service and FABULOUS food. As I stepped in (during a "training day"), I was promptly approached by Rick (District Manager), who explained the location was, in fact, not open to the public yet. We chatted for a few minutes and due to the fact that I had an "invite" as a Starbird Mailing List Member, he graciously told me that he would happily fulfill my invitation to enjoy a meal... regardless of being open or not! Rick then introduced me to Nicole (Unit's General Manager), who was personable, all smiles, professional and quick to initiate the "prep" of my order. Other Starbird Associates also introduced themselves...making my visit truly amazing and very personable. This restaurant is located toward the back end of the Pruneyard. It has a parking lot right next to the entrance so accessing the store is easy. We've ordered ahead and done take-out from here. The salads are hearty. One is too much for us. We usually split a salad.We've had the Thai salad, the chicken chopped, the truffle chicken sandwich, and truffle fries. Starbird is located in what used to be Coffee Society near the cinemas. It's a little eerie seeing the Pruneyard so empty at night because of shelter in place! Nonetheless, I'm very impressed with Starbird's food, service, and ordering process. I called ahead to place my order and it was ready when I arrived. The woman who too my call was incredibly sweet and patient answering my questions. I was honestly a little worried about them not having meatless options, but to my surprise they have several gardenbird/plant based options - AMAZING! The salad was enormous and so flavorful I barely needed dressing. The fries are great when fresh and had a kick to them. Cranberry lemonade was the perfect addition. Tried Starbird as part of their opening Yelp program. Went after the Nashville tenders, what strikes me was the flavors of spice but also the airy light texture of the chicken. The chicken is by far the most flavorful I have had. Had the fries and coleslaw with it and these had a nice contrast to them. I never leave reviews but I've had enough. I love Starbird, however without a fail they always get my order wrong. Whether I order from the place physically or through their app for delivery (which is when they mess up the most). I would say partly is my fault because I keep ordering from them, but there has not been one time, not a single time, where they get my order correct. And I don't ask for substitutions or extra of anything. I just order and they either give me the wrong item or flat out I have a missing item. It's frustrating too because you can't easily get in touch with anyone. I would love to continue coming here but it's too much. I understand once but literally all the time?? I'm not sure if they just hate me but I've never had my order correct. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. My go-to are definitely their wings - Sweet Thai is hands down the best flavor and I cannot get enough of it. As soon as I walked up I was greeted and shown where to go. Everything was extremely organized for a soft opening. As soon as I came around the corner to pickup line my name was called. Food was piping hot, service was outstanding for a pickup. I ordered the 12 wing meal half Korean Bbq, half lemon pepper, fries. For the kid ordered chicken tenders and fries. Great portions! I really wanted to be able to make it home to plate my food and take a nice picture but the food smelled SO good and I could not resist. I ended up sitting down at a bench and scarfing the whole thing down. I got the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich and regular fries and their housemade lemonade. Everything was delicious -- I see why there is a line of people waiting for their order pick ups. The lemonade is the perfect tangy-ness, the fries are very fresh, and the sandwich was delish. They can't seem to get a take out order correct for the life of them. The receipt stapled to the bag itself accurately lists everything in the order, but the people filling the bag are unable to read it apparently. I have never had a take out order that is not missing something and now they seem to just leave out almost half an order regularly. I don't order out here all the time, but every time I have it's the same story. They are actively stealing people's money at this point by not giving a care on fulfilling paid orders. If it's simply an issue of staffing, they really need to figure out how to replace the poor team members who are bringing down their public image. Service was excellent and ordering was a breeze (thank you Jessica for your recommendations and help!) I ordered the Korean glazed tenders, a bunch of sauces on the side, and a small lemonade. The tenders come with their super slaw and fries on the side, all mixed in one box, with the glaze poured on top. I liked how crispy the breading on the tenders was, but the glazed parts were a bit soft by the time I got home. The fries are on the soft side, and all the sauces were a bit too sweet for me. The chipotle aioli had to be my fave though, out of the wasabi aioli, chipotle aioli, honey miso mayo, star sauce (their version of chick-fil-a sauce), and seoul sauce. It has a nice, smoky flavor. The slaw's packaging was a bit too messy for my tastes, since it was covered in glaze, but it had a surprisingly pleasant and light flavor! Would recommend. The box is definitely a lot of food for me, so a good deal for $12! The lemonade isn't as sweet as CFA's or as chunky as In-n-out's, but it was a pretty good choice. And the small is actually a small, which I loved. My only complaints are again, the sauces being too sweet, and that they weren't labeled (a little confusing, to be honest). Also, this location doesn't serve wings! A bummer, but I'll probably be back again soon to try some more things. I really want to check out those churros next! read more
