And it is so filling ‼‼ everything from there is filling. Basically, you get good tasting good quality food, for a good price and in a short amount of time. And I mean a short amount of time, I typically order a salad and tenders for me and a friend and it takes maybe 7ish minutes for the order to be ready. This place is easily my favorite chain. Also if u get the salad I recommend taking the chicken out then putting in the sauce and shaking the bowl. This spot is handling COVID guidelines very well! You place your order at a door on one side of the building and pick-up on the other side after they call your name. There's plenty of room to wait for your food on the other side so you are not too close to other people. I ordered the Big Star sandwich with no pickles, fries, and a lemonade. Ive been to the branch in San Mateo which is more of a grab and go sort version but never disappointed. Overall the price of the meal for the portion of food you're getting is fair compared to the other pricey options at Pruneyard shopping. However the reason for my 3 star experience is I was overcharged on my credit card and would not have noticed unless another person came forward. I would double check your receipt after ordering because apparently my card was charged for another persons meal. Fortunately the manager comped the meal but the cashier claimed that we had made the mistake of ordering food that we did not. The mango chicken was just fried chicken and a few bits of mango while the katsu did not seem like the typical bread crumb exterior, but had some cold edamame and red veggie on the side. There is plenty of parking and a restroom so I would come back, but definitely ask for the cashier to read back your order and provide an invoice for my receipt. read more

Pleasant inside ambience with an abundance of cheery yellow. I think it is a fairly new location. I decided to try the mango cashew crunch salad, which had the crispy fried chicken, mango,avocado,carrots,cashews and a vinagarette dressing on iceberg lettuce mix. The salad was pretty big, enough to share if one desired. There was a generous amount of the crispy chicken chunks, and the coating was crunchy and tasty. The mango added the right amount of sweetness,and the cashews and avocado went well with the flavors as well. Went today around 2 and ordered the vegetarian strips and the regular strips for my husband. The meals came fast and with a lot of fries. The best thing about our food was the sauces. We hit up Starbird for dinner for the family. We got the Nashville hot sandwich and the tenders. The fries, cranberry lemonade, and coleslaw were the stars of the show. I had never had coleslaw made with kale and it was great! The sandwich was just ok in my opinion. Our girls (5 & 7) had the tenders but did not like the pickle flavor on some of the pieces (the pickles should be in a container and not on top of the tenders). I tried the tenders also and once again they were just ok. For me, I prefer Chick-fil-A's sandwich over Starbird's. Also, based on the price my expectations were higher. I will likely come back and try something else on the menu. The process of ordering was great and my food was ready when I arrived and the staff was really friendly and nice. I posted a review yesterday and it was live. It has now disappeared-not sure how this happened. I am posting it again. This is touted as healthy fried chicken. Maybe. Probably not. I ordered thru Uber Eats. Chicken fingers and the Starbird sandwich. I was really looking forward to trying this place. I was thoroughly disappointed. Here are my reasons for the 1 star rating. I had a bite of the chicken finger. Saying it was over salted would be an understatement. It had at least 20 times the acceptable level of normal salt. The breading was at least 5 times what is needed, probably done to make the chicken fingers look big. It was over fried rendering the edges tough and dry. The fingers are supposed to come with one sauce . I chose blazing ranch. For 8 fingers I got 2 tiny cups of the sauce (probably no more than 2 teaspoons in each). The cup is so small that it is almost impossible to dip the finger in it. And at 3 bucks per finger, surely more sauce can be provided? The sandwich might have been good. Unfortunately it depended on the same chicken finger which ruined it. The only saving grace was the lettuce. The pickles were evenly spread throughout the sandwich but the 3 tiny tomato slices were stacked on top of each other. Surely the lazy kitchen staff can be trained to spread the tomato slices evenly across the sandwich? It was also soggy on account of excessive Star sauce. I ate the sandwich without the finger. I did examine some of the fingers prior to tossing them out. The chicken seems to be quality chicken breast. I have eaten chicken fingers in various places. And these were the worst. The fact that my original review mysteriously disappeared just proves my point! read more

I'm writing this review under the category of fast food :) Solid chicken sandwich fast food chain! I'd equate it to the in-n-out of chicken sandwich with slightly higher ingredient quality and better dining atmosphere. Since it was my first time trying the place, I got their signature starbird chicken sandwich combo (comes with fries and a fountain drink). Seasoning and the crispness of the chicken was great! Not too heavy nor salty. For those of you who like to control your own sauce proportion, you can ask them to put the sauce on the side :) I expected the bun to be more like a burger bun but was happily surprised that it wasn't (think sandwich bun but a bit softer). Their fries could use some improvement. The batch that I got was soft and I usually like mine with crispy exterior and soft center :) This didn't bug me much but for those of you who are particular about your soda brand, the fountain drinks weren't labeled with the brand so you get whatever brand they are using! read more

We were on our way to Capitola, and drove through Campbell to get some gas. Realizing we were hungry, I saw that there was Starbird Chicken nearby. I faintly remember hearing good things about this place, so why not see if that was the case. Starbird is situated in a plaza with plenty of parking and other good eats. There was such a huge selection to choose from - tenders to sandos to salads to tacos. I ordered the 3 pc Korean glazed tender box, and my boyfriend, the hot honey chicken sandwich. Both just straight fireee. The Korean glazed had a flavor that wasn't too sweet, but enhanced. I didn't get to really try my boyfriend's because he inhaled it - it was that good. Otherwise, it comes with a generous serving of crispy fries and sauce. I was impressed with the portions of this place. Will definitely come back. There's a location closer to me but I go to this one for the customer service and consistency. I love the Star Bird and special sauce. The meat, produce and sauce ratio had always been perfect for me, but then again I love sauce. Their fries are incomparable to other places and could legit eat them by themselves as a meal. My husband and I both tried 2 of the Gardenbird sandwiches for the first time. We got the new Schezuan hot gardenbird and the nashville hot gardenbird. I came here with my friend a few nights ago to try it out as we had heard lots of great things about it! I got the three tender sweet Thai box with double fries instead of slaw along with the Spicy Seoul Sauce and the Wasabi Aioli. The chicken itself was delicious, perfectly cooked and crunchy. The sweet Thai topping was also amazing and I would definitely order the same chicken again. The fries were good as well, I likely would have preferred if they had an option for seasoned fries but they were still very good for fries with just salt and pepper. I enjoyed the spicy Seoul sauce, it was great on the fries although I really wouldn't say it was that spicy at all, maybe some small kick but honestly barely discernible. I wasn't a huge fan of the Wasabi Aioli which also wasn't really spicy and slightly bland. The restaurant itself was clean, quick and easy to figure out. If you're a fan of crispy chicken salads, this place is for you! The salads are huge and my personal favorite, the katsu chicken salad ($11.47) is absolutely delicious. They provide a creamy ginger dressing, and I just really enjoy the mix they put together. I've tried their other food including the - Chipotle charbird ($9.27): a good size and tasty, but was disappointed it wasn't fresh avocado in the sandwich as stated, but actually a guacamole spread. I would prefer to get Popeyes chicken sandwich over this (cheaper too) - Starbird sandwich ($8.27): this was ok too, but nothing as crazy to right home about. Would also prefer Popeyes over this (Popeyes chicken is actually juicer and has more flavor to me) - Korean glaze wings ($10.99 for 10 pieces): I was kind of disappointed by the Korean glaze, but maybe because my mind had a different taste in mind. It tasted more sour than anything but their wing sauces are really wonderful. It is also nice you can do half and half bone in and boneless. - Nashville hot fries ($4.97): the fries were good, but I overestimated my spiciness level because I thought these were actually quite hot. I can handle an average jumbalaya and mild to medium pad thai if you want to compare your spiciness level to mine. Overall, I literally go here because I'm obsessed with their katsu chicken salad. OBSESSED. I will warn you, I would not call the salad a healthy option either because of the creamy dressing and they put katsu dressing as well (plus fried chicken). If you're here for the chicken sandwich, I would actually go elsewhere if you want a guilty pleasure meaty fried chicken sandwich. Parking can be meh also depending on the day. Yesterday they had blocked/ taped off the 15 min spots for pick up which sucked. Just be patient with parking. Staff are very nice, helpful, and efficient.
