I want to love this place, I really do. The wings are good, the sauces are delicious, and I love the seasoning on the fries. However, this location is so poorly managed and they cannot seem to get our orders right. This was my first and final trip to Starbird. Ordered the Thai chicken salad. It was no closer to anything Thai than the moon is.

Very small sandwich they gave a me a chicken tender that was pretty small on a sandwich it looked like a chicken little from KFC which is a fourth of the price. The flavor wasn't all that either and all their sauces have mayo or ranch yuck. The fries were oily and tasteless as well. The pictures are deceiving they look big on photos and in person so small. Unfortunately, my wife's Korean sandwich was a bust, and the breading on the chicken was extremely salty. No shade on her, but I think going with this place's take on "Korean" was a mistake. My daughter had a couple of tacos which she said were fine. They liked their drinks so I'll mention those: the limeade and the (surprised they even had it) Thai iced tea were both very good. The food is bomb. My friend and I ordered the Thai Sweet Chili tenders, a regular chicken sandwich and spicy Korean taco; drinks were Thai tea and ginger mint lemonade. Only 3 stars because the ordering process sucked. They have a kiosk in front to order or you can go upfront to order. At the time I went no one up front was helping to take orders so you HAD to do it at the kiosk. Bottom line it didn't work. Bored and home alone on a Saturday afternoon, food was calling my name. Not being a picky eater and truly loving food, I scrolled through the many options on DoorDash and came across Starbird Chicken( I had no idea this was a place). After looking at their menu, I opted to order the Grilled Chicken Katzu salad and the Chicken and Churros, and let me tell you that I have discovered a new go to spot for fried chicken! The salad was flavorful, specially if you're into the sweet dressings, I am =D and the Chicken and Churros were mouthwatering. The salad consisted of grilled chicken, pickled dycon, edamame, wonton chip strips , cabbage and lettuce. It was a big and filling salad. Don't even get me started on the Chicken And Churros, even though the food had been DoorDashed, the chicken strips were still crispy as were the churros. The churros were light , crispy and partnered with a maple syrup? W/e kind of syrup it paired well with the churros. I cannot wait to try something else on their menu, if you're contemplating the idea of trying this place do it! You will not regret it! read more

First time. Cool menu to order but food sucks. Got the Starbird sandwich, chicken was undercooked, bread game was bad. While I was waiting, saw one young employee touch everything around him with his gloves and proceeding to touch the food with the same gloves. A 2nd employee, was brushing him arm with the gloves on and touching the food. A 3rd employee, was grabbing food with her bare hands (I just saw her wiping tables down, who knows if she actually washed her hands). Love this place, but can't quite give it 5 stars: * sandwiches, tenders, salads, and tacos are all great. Salads are our usual go-to here, and every one we've tried has been good. * "Blazin'" option for the Nashville Hotbird is legit spicy. * always quick, and service has been "fine" to "great" every time I've been in. * unfortunately, calling the wings mediocre would be kind. Tried them the first time and never again. Almost didn't give them a second chance after that -- feels like they almost shouldn't be on the menu, they're such an outlier in terms of quality. * The menu does change around a bit from time to time as dishes rotate in and out. It can be frustrating when a favorite menu item is no longer available (RIP Spicy Korean Taco), but I appreciate that they're trying out new things while keeping the overall menu size manageable. * It can also be a little unpredictable exactly how much food you're going to get from one visit to another, which seems weird for a multiple-location chain. * They also seem to have a real problem with keeping the seasonal lemonade up to date on their online ordering system. As an added bonus, our friends who can't eat gluten have really appreciated the fact that their breaded/fried tenders are GF! tl;dr: try something fried, skip the wings, don't get too attached to your favorite menu item read more

This was OK. It was expensive for what you get. The picture of the chicken sandwiches were huge and at the right price. So my mom and I decided to share and my son got one for himself. The sandwich is very small for $9. And then to cut in half; too small considering half would be $4+. You can barely see the chicken in the bun when we opened the container. The chicken is firm too. Wow what an unforgettably horribly experience. Ordered the original fried chicken (dry and over cooked) and tasteless soggy fries. Hubs ordered the wings combo and they forgot his sides. Also ALL the sauces that came with the orders were missing. Wasted time to go back get all the missing pieces. Ate here for the first time today with coworkers. Beyond disappointed. The chicken wings both boneless and regular were extremely dry. The fries tasted old and soggy and the veggie sticks were not fresh at all. The carrots were almost white coated. However, The guava lemonade was amazing. I've been inundated with a desire, nay, a NEED for fried chicken. However, there was nothing near where I live worth trying (KFC...yek). So when I saw Starbird opened only 40 short minutes from me, I had to go based on my previous experience with their location in Sunnyvale. First off, COVID times, they met all the requirements. There was a ordering station outside, social distancing was enforced, hand sanitizer was available. All employees wearing masks and wearing gloves. We ordered with the lady at the counter and waited about 15 minutes for our food on another side of the building. The inside of the building looked inviting and I can't wait to see a time again when people can eat indoors safely. I ordered the tenders box with honey mustard sauce/honey bbq sauce. I preferred the BBQ sauce as the honey mustard was a little too sweet. The chicken was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy. Fries were previously frozen, but pretty good. No slaw included, even though it was supposed to be. My husband got the chicken sandwich and mentioned it felt under-seasoned. The apply/kale slaw was good. He mentioned that the whole thing felt a little wet. He also got the Nashville hot taco and was meh. He said it wasn't spicy enough. Would come back to try other items on their menu! read more

If this wasn't a freshly opened Starbird this may have been a 3 star review, but I know they are probably still working out the kinks. Staff was very friendly and helpful, wearing masks/gloves, and handling the dinner rush well. My partner and I ordered at the same time, the same exact items, and my order was ready in 5 minutes and his took almost 20 minutes (chalking it up to fresh tenders being made maybe?). Both orders were missing pickles. Overall thought the tenders and fries were perfect and we will definitely be frequent customers! read more
