Wow, this has to be the most upsetting thing to happen in a while, and believe me lots has been going on lately. I've been following these guys on instagram since this pandemic started and couldn't wait to come back to the Bay and try their delicious food I've been seeing all over social media. They were completely covered by this ketchup package. Also ordered the Thai chili wings and was expecting some sweet with some spice but it wasssss all sweet. After you get done breaking through the earth's crust of theses boneless wings you finally get to enjoy a tiny morsel of hardened chicken breast. The food was okay, but the soda machine not working correctly, and never got it up and working as there were other things the cashier wanted to do. So I had to get my money back for the soda. The real rub is that when I looked up the site if I registered I received a $5 off coupon, that did not say on it that it required online ordering. I found this out when I arrived. I made a complaint as the cashier said there was nothing he could do. First I was told by the online team they would make it right, then after two months of me waiting and asking, I was told it was online only and to prove it. It was more than two months ago. Great place with the kids for a good meal! They have a decent amount of outdoor seating and the quality is great, their sandwiches are just ok but the tacos and tenders/fries are the best! My husband loves these sandwiches but they are too spicy for me. We have been there 3 times and even though I asked them to mark the type of sandwich on each one they never did. They said there was a sticker on each but there was not all three times. They charged 50 cents for each side of sauce and the containers weren't even half full. The review is based on food alone. The establishment is enforcing all covid 19 rules. No issues with the people. The food is trash. Ordered the California roll taco. Tasted like horse radish because of the sauce. Stay away from the Nashville hotbird. Imagine eating the same sandwich kfc made, but you paid 3x the price. This is fine fried chicken, a meal is a good value great crispy fried chicken, with plenty of fries. I have eaten here several times, and honestly I order the same thing, Thai chicken salad, I love this salad, many flavors going on that blend perfectly. Other members of my family really like the tenders and fries, I sneak their fries, and they are really good. The establishment it's self seems very clean and efficient. I tried Starbird chicken and I have to say that I really like it. The chicken isn't as big as some of the other places in San Jose, but they make up for that by being a little bit cheaper. They also give you a $5 coupon if you sign up for the app. In my opinion, the most delicious thing were the sauces. And they were FREE. No one in San Jose gives you anything for free anymore!!! The chipotle aioli was THE BEST sauce. I'll make sure to ask for more when I go back because it's so good. Their lemonade is also very tasty - not too sour but not too sweet either, which is hard to get. read more

I tried the chicken sandwich here and I have to say that I was slightly disappointed; there was a long line outside the store so I was excited to give them a shot. Everything about the sandwich itself was of good quality and well put together; the chicken was tender and juicy and the bread was nice and soft. However, (and I'm not sure if this is their typical seasoning or if it was just my sandwich in particular) I found that it was overly salty to the point where I could not find my meal particularly enjoyable. I will give their fried chicken a try next time, hopefully it'll be better! read more

This has been my favorite place to order during the pandemic. Sadly, they recently discontinued the Korean sandwich, which I've ordered dozens of times and which was flavorful and amazing (I dream of the miso mayonnaise!). They also discontinued the Thai sandwich. All the sandwich options now are super "vanilla." A bacon and avocado chicken sandwich? Like... I can get that anywhere - or even make it myself. I'm super bummed they've taken all the unique sandwiches off menu because they aren't "top sellers." Still giving 4 stars because the food and service was always great but will revise if the next menu update doesn't reflect a little more diversity in flavor. Seriously EVERYWHERE is doing fried chicken sandwiches now. Starbird's biggest advantage was that the flavors/sauces and combinations were unique - I'm often in the mood for a flavor I can only get there. If I wanted normal chicken sandwiches I'd go to Popeyes or Chick-Fil-A. I recommend tapping back into that unique vibe (and selfishly asking - again - to bring back the Korean sandwich) or else I'll probably look for other places that have more interesting offerings. read more

Just got done eating... nothing wrong with the food. I kept coming cz I walk across the street from the Campbell location. I didn't order online this time but walked up to the register, asked them to apply the discount they give to Pruneyard employees. Also, bought the gift card so cashier applied the a $5 towards the bill. I guess I got penalized for applying the discounts cz I got the smallest chicken tenders with no sauce (believe me, I know, I eat here at least 2x a week) and no sauce for the chicken wings either..... I went to the store and they did not honor the coupons for the food I already had paid for tried to tell me they were fake and only offered me half off my order that was already paid for made no sense. bro my friends and I went tonight 7/3 and from the start they person in charge was treating us bad. After our food was ready the lady in a grey shirt "the manager" threw our food to the side or for my other friend she just tossed it on the counter and said nothing. we had to check if it was our order while everyone else had their names called out. We PREORDERED, get there and wait in the car, received a text saying our order was ready! Great! Go in, there's a few people in line, so we wait in line. It's chaos. Abt 5-8 mins of waiting someone comes in, cuts everyone off that's waiting in line and says his order and the girl working disregards everyone else waiting for their food and gives it to him! Tried this place for the first time after my coworkers raved about it. They offered delivery through DoorDash, so went that route. We ordered the Nashville sandwich, Hot Honey Sandwich, and a side of fries with 2 sauces. ( paid extra for addtl sauce) Food arrived cold, but that tends to happen after delivery. Nothing a little toaster oven action can't fix. After everything was nice and hot, we bit into our sandwiches and were sorely disappointed. The flavor was meh for both sandwiches. They also forgot the extra sauce we paid for. Honestly the Popeyes sandwich is way better than these. We were so excited to try this new spot, and unfortunately don't think we will be back.
