I decided to try out Starbird for lunch, last week, since it was so close to my Dr. office appointment. They have a very small parking lot but luckily we arrived early enough to get a spot. When we walked it I noticed a lot of employees behind the counter putting together orders. You place your order at the kiosk instead of at the counter. The kiosk was very easy to use and you are still able to customize your order to your liking. I tried the big star and the Nashville hot fries without the hot chili oil. My husband tried Seoul Star. There is a flat screen where you can see if your order is ready to pick up and they also text you when your food is ready, which is nice. We also got 2 drinks. I was disappointed they didn't have an iced tea with no sugar. All the drinks were sugary. It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready and we grabbed our tray from the front counter and sat inside. There is also plenty of outdoor seating, but it was raining, so we opted to sit inside. The tables and chairs were wobbly which was very annoying when trying to eat. Both our chicken sandwiches were very good. The fries on the other had were overdone to the point that they were burnt. It was like cement. I should have had them remake it but it was hard to get anyone's attention for help. I will not order the fries again but I will return for the chicken sandwiches. YES! Just all the yes. This place is absolutely amazing, ordering from the kiosk was easy to navigate but if you don't want to hassle with it you can order at the counter. The food was the best, I didn't want to stop eating it even though I was stuffed. That's how good it was. The quality of food is generally good: however it has been hit or miss with regards to online orders containing everything in the order. My most recent order was missing both a side of fries and the fries from the tender box; and in the past it was pretty common to have sauces missing. Hopefully this can be addressed since the food is pretty good. Edit: after eating most recent order, this is actually worse. There was even less chicken on the chicken chop salad than usual, even given the declining quantity over the years. And the avocado given was both nowhere near 1 scoop and brown, not fresh. They need to either calm down on the sugar or the amount of sauce they drench the salad with because it was way too sweet. Yesterday, as I was having my order taken the cashier helping me was having difficulty hearing me because there was so much noise in the background. Kitchen employees had music very loud and were all just goofing around. That is very unprofessional especially in time when not even a cashier can hear what a customer is ordering. We have been to this location a few times but I have never gotten down to writing a review. Szechuan Hotbird Taco: Crispy chicken which to be fair is not all that hot paired with a spicy aioli and a ginger Pique sauce. Cabbage adds a crunch and tiny sliced pickles adds more crunch and nice vinegary hit to cut the richness. Service was fast and friendly as always. A bit pricey considering it's technically fast food - $11 and an additional $5 to make it a meal. But still Nashville hot chicken is worth it. First time coming to this location as I've had Starbird before at the Niner Stadium. I really enjoyed it. The place is a small spot and parking is kind of crowded, but my friend and I came in a Sunday and it was very busy. I ordered the Starbird 2.0 sandwich with fries and a drink. It was quite good and was out in under ten minutes. I liked the slaw on it and would highly recommend this one. The fries were really fresh too. Overall, solid with my only gripe is that the food is a bit pricy, but in 2023 at this point it's expected. read more
