I love their chicken katsu salad. The rest of their food - chicken tenders, chicken wings, chicken sandwiches and fries are just ok. This review is pretty much just for the chicken katsu salad. This salad includes cabbage, cucumber, edamame, red pickled daikon, crispy wonton strips, green onions, sesame seeds, katsu sauce, and the delicious creamy ginger dressing! The dressing is perfect with this salad. Can I get the secret recipe for this dressing? Lol. The salad is filling. I can eat the whole salad bowl myself but it's also enough to share. One of my fav salads :) Make sure to download the app and earn rewards for a $5 off. Also, I love using their app to order because it's super easy and quick. The wait time is only like 5 minutes! Btw parking can be crazy at times b/c it's located in the Pruneyard. There are 15 min parking spaces but those are usually occupied. My wife and I tried Starbird for the first time a few days ago. The location is convenient for going to the movie theater next door. It was relatively quick to receive our order once it was placed, so it is good for before a movie. The decor is basic fast-food style, which is sufficient for a quick bite. However, the ordering kiosk was not intuitive. It would have been so much easier to place our orders with a real person instead of struggling with a poor user interface on the kiosk. In particular, when ordering ther Thai chicken, there was a required choice that needed to be made (essentially saying that "no, I don't want a larger portion"). I didn't select that, (but I didn't select the larger portion option). It just wouldn't take the order, but it didn't tell me what the problem was. Also I didn't see anything to give special instructions. Hopefully they will improve it to make it easier. A staff person told us afterwards that orders can be placed with an actual person without using the kiosk. The food was tasty. My wife had the Starbird 2.0 sandwich ($10.97). She enjoyed the combination of the chicken and the slaw in the sandwich. I had the Sweet Thai Tender Box ($13.47). The fried chicken pieces were covered in a delicious sauce. It comes with two sides; I chose the slaw as both of my sides. Got the Nashville Hotbird sandwich because I usually choose what ever is spicy. You order through the kiosk and pick it up at the counter when you receive a text that your order is ready. The sandwich is very juicy and tender. The sauce was leaking from the bottom of the wrapper before I took a bite, so prepare to have lots of napkins. It's wrapped in the style of an In & Out burger, which most of the sandwich sticking out for better biting. It's not as spicy as I hoped, it's more of a peppery taste. I've eaten at Starbird several times and it's always been a solid choice. This location is right up the street at the Pruneyard Shopping Center where parking tends to be a challenge especially on the weekends. Today I ordered the Chicken Chop Salad w/extra dressing. I used their online ordering system which was easy enough but it required me to set up an account which was annoying. Other than that it was easy and my order was ready when I arrived. This is a BIG salad and I could have easily turned it into two meals or spit it. But of course I ate the entire thing and feel like am ompa lumpa right now. The flavors were good and I liked the Pepitas a lot. The chicken is obviously the star here and I got the typical fried but next time I need to opt for the grilled instead only because the fried just feels to sinful for the beginning of January lol I've also had the chicken sandwich which is good as are the tocos. My husband and I went there on a date night and we were greeted by Michael and he was very friendly and welcoming. It is a nice and clean restaurant and, oh my goodness, the food is wonderful! I ordered the new chicken 2.0 sandwich and my husband ordered the big star. Both sandwiches were so good! Although it's fried, it doesn't taste greasy and the inside is moist. I ordered the slaw, and it was so good! Very flavorful and like no other I have tasted. My husband had french fries and they were very good. The drink selection is amazing. Starbird chicken has been booked marked for me to try. I finally came here after work. There was no like but there was a wait. You order at the front and pick up on the side. Customer service was great. The cashier was helpful when I asked questions. She made a recommendation but I really wanted to try Nashville hot. Because of Covid there is no indoor or seating. As you can tell by my photos it was dark. (Laughs) I sat in my car to eat my food before my drive home. I tried the fries first. It was very flavorful and enjoyed it. I'd pick the Nashville Hotbird over the Starbird. If you're used to spicy food, it's not hot really hot, but has a nice little kick. For me, the slaw and avocado filling in the Starbird took away from the chicken itself. Plus, my bad for piling it on even more by adding extra bacon and avocado! Less is best if you ask me, but THAT bacon is good! The chicken in both sandwiches was nicely crisp and crunchy. ***Chicken Tenders (Nashville Hot)*** This came with loads of fries. I liked the sammie, so I asked for an order of these tenders to take home. ***Churros*** Very pleasantly surprised! Not something that normally comes to mind with chicken sandwiches, but these were super fresh​ (using fresh frying oil) and came out piping hot with the perfect amount of light​ sugar. You know what makes positively delicious chicken even better? A good location! The new Starbird location in The Pruneyard, Campbell is another feather in their cap. Located next to the cinemas, this location has indoor (not available at the moment) and outdoor seating, and is currently offering safe pickups to ensure COVID guidelines. My fav item on the menu is the chicken Katsu salad and Korean Glazed chicken wings. I ordered both of these along with the Chicken Tenders box. The order was placed on the app (p.s online orders have a $5 off coupon as I type this review), and was ready for contactless pickup right in time. The order came with a healthy serving of fries and dips. While they offer outdoor seating that was being used by a few customers, I was happy with a contactless pickup of my takeout order. Came to a Starbird VIP event at the Starbird Campbell location in the Pruneyard and received a complimentary sandwich, side, and drink. Thank you so much Starbird! I love a spicy chicken sandwich, and so I got The Nashville sandwich, chicken and churros side, and a large lemonade. I ordered it via the app and would suggest you should too. #1 to avoid the wait. #2 you get rewards. You'll get $5 off your first order and you can accumulate rewards quickly. This is my third visit to Starbird and I've used the $5 reward and have received another $10 reward already. I didn't realize it at the time but I arrived about 10 minutes earlier than my scheduled pickup time. They caught my mistake yet they made a great effort to get my order to me as fast as they could. The time wasn't noticeable because it was just a nice setting in their patio dining on a sunny afternoon. The Nashville sandwich was fresh, moist, and delicious. It could have been more spicy. In the past I've asked for hot sauce, which I forgot this time, which really adds kick when you need it. The chicken itself was crunchy as expected and about a half inch thick all the way around. Not thick on one end and paper thin on the other like some other places. I hadn't noticed this before but the bread for me was co-star to this sandwhich secondary to the chicken. They make everything in-store including the bread and sauces. The bread was obviously fresh baked and the slight crunch to the crust was suuuuper satisfying! I stopped and looked at the bread. I'm like, hellooooo . To me, it enhanced the sandwich by not taking any flavor away from the chicken while adding great flavor and texture. The fresh lettuce and pickles added more layers of crispness and moisture and I really liked that. The surprise for me was the chicken and churros. Dipping the churro into the maple syrup made me feel like I was having pancakes and the lingering maple sweetness was very welcome. The small chicken breast pieces were yummy and the dipping sauce for the chicken was wonderful. It had a creamy texture with a smoky paprika tone to it. What a great sauce! I made the mistake of spilling my lemonade. Boo! One of the staff noticed as I started to clean it up and they were on it right away providing a new drink, and more paper towels with another staff member bringing cleaning supplies. Thank you. I came here for a Yelp event and had a great experience. To limit contact and encourage social distancing, you can order through their app ($5 reward when you sign up) or through their outside kiosks. Although there was very limited contact with the employees, it was apparent that they were extremely friendly. Regarding the food, I think the burgers are bigger than typical chicken sandwiches. The Big Star sandwich was flavorful and the chicken was juicy, but I didn't think it was crispy. However, I didn't mind since the sandwich itself was good with soft bread. The Nashville Hot Fries had so many different sauces on top and I liked these so much more than I thought I would! I wanted to order a mild version, but they only offer "hot" and "blazin'". Thankfully, I can't handle spice and it wasn't spicy like I thought it would be -- it reminded me more of habanero sauce. Compared to other fried chicken sandwiches I've had, I feel that the chicken is really thin and the batter was pretty thick. I didn't taste a lot of the spices either. Nonetheless, it was not bad. Starbird has always felt like a leveled-up fast food fried chicken spot in the best way. Elements of hot chicken spots, a little bit of KFC and Popeyes, and add some fusion flair with tacos, Korean flavor options, and a bunch of gourmet salads. Usually when newer spots attempt this much all at once, they are a jack-of-all-trades but a master at none, but Starbird is different. I feel they've put a lot of thought and consideration into most of their menu options (that I've tried so far, anyway) and the execution is well done. Their website says they had a lot of trial-and-error perfecting their fried chicken recipe as well as their hot sauces, which they make in-house. I love the selection of sauces and flavor profiles so you can come back and not feel like you've had the same thing over and over again. Since I'm on keto, I opted for a green goddess salad with grilled chicken and added Nashville spice to it. It was amazing! A lot of people complain about the spice level of the Nashville chicken being wimpy, but in the salad, there's not a bun to sop up the spicy, so the spice level was a GOOD kick (also on grilled chicken, no breading to also sop up the spice). The green goddess dressing was a perfect creamy-but-healthy compliment to the kick, along with the fresh tasting guac on top (which ain't extra $, but for a $12+ salad, it better be included lol). I really enjoyed everything about it, and I was struggling to finish it because it was so filling. Customer service was great and I really wish I had cash on me cuz I would have left a few bucks. I've already been here twice since it's opened and WOW! On COVID-19 precautions and safety: * They have kiosks outside for safe, socially distant, safe ordering (as well as online and app ordering). * Their pick up station is also safely located outside with clear signs and plenty of space for social distancing, even with lots of folks waiting for food. * The staff members were all wearing masks and gloves On food: * absolutely banging wings (buffalo and korean sauces were tried) * french fries are perfection! * super dipping sauces: honey mustard and buffalo Sriracha * chicken tenders so tender you'd want to eat 2x more than what you ordered On the service * fast * friendly * safe Cannot wait to go back and try the many more options they have on the menu! read more

Starbird Chicken is located at The Pruneyard in Campbell. I learned that they had just opened at this location, so I decided to check it out. There was plenty of parking, and there wasn't a big crowd yet -- the Grand Opening was days away. The staff were friendly and engaging as they explained how to order at the kiosks. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Fries and a Cranberry Lemonade. While waiting, I observed the outdoor seating available. Soon my order was ready. The food was delicious, and my drink was refreshing. I'll definitely be back to sample more of their menu. read more
