I first had Senorita bread in a hs Spanish class and loved it! Needless to say, I was quite happy when I found out I lived near a bakery that sold them! Decided to come in and buy some for my department/co-workers when I was interning at the City. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. They even gave me an extra bag to split the bread. I have been going to this bakery for a while and one thing that they always provide is consistency with their Seniorita Bread. I truly consider it one of my comfort foods because it is fresh, buttery, yummy, and warm. During this pandemic, they are only allowing 6 people inside at a time, but every time that I have gone, there was barely any line and the service was fast. The prices are also so cheap!! Why did I think 5 pieces of Señorita bread was going to be way too much? When you bite into these warm rolls of buttery goodness, you will just melt. Then you'll be like oh they're tiny, have another. Oh that second one was so good, May as well have a third. Then it becomes, let's finish this off because it can't be as delicious cold or reheated. I have never had Senorita bread before but a couple of weeks ago my friend had one of her friends visiting SF bring back a box and I was one of the lucky people that she had shared it with. My first impression was that the bread looked like regular dinner rolls but after the first bite I was hooked! It was filled with butter and slightly sweet! I had the opportunity to visit Starbread bakery again during my trip to SF last week and having the bread fresh out of the oven was 10X better! The buttery syrup literally oozed out of the bread after the first bite and we couldn't help but eat a second one right after since it was SO good! The owner was super nice and even explained to us how to reheat the bread after taking it home. We bought a box of 50 for only $20 and shared it among 6 other friends. read more

It's hard to have a whole lot of opinion about this place because frankly I don't know a lot about Starbread. Except one important thing. Their bread is dee-lish-shus! Ambiance? None. Visuals? Plain as paper. Personality? It starts and stops at "how can I help you?" Really, there is nothing to look at inside and no one ever seems excited about anything. So don't plan on sitting down for something to eat. But DO plan to take the most amazing tasting senorita bread home (or work or play or ??) that you've ever tasted. Be prepared too to be labeled selfish or mean because you ate most of it in the car on the way to wherever. This stuff really is yummy! Stopped by on a low key weekend. It's been a while since I've been to this location and I was craving senorita bread. There was a wait about three people ahead of me. On this trip I ordered 20 pieces for $12. I don't know if it's me or if the recipe changed. When I got them they were nice and hot and smelling hella good in the trunk of my car. I call thus self control lol. Anyway by the time I got home, an hour away they were cold. The first thing that I noticed was that I it didn't have that nice golden brown color that the senorita bread is known for. My order was the pale cousin of the bread. As soon as I bit into one there was only a hint of the butter and sugar. Mostly at the bottom. Other than that it was mostly bland. While at the store I noticed that there display was almost empty wIth only a couple of goodies left. Idk, maybe if I had arrived early they would have had more to offer and better tasting Senorita bread. Might be awhile before I head back to this location. read more

I have never eaten seniorita bread because I'm allergic to wheat. But, I am basing this on the reactions of the people around me. 1) I taught English for a summer program and on the last day, one of the people brought the bread. Everybody, not only loved it but the were savoring it,, and moaning as they were ingesting and talking aout how good it was. 2) I bought a box for a party we were throwing, as my contribution. I didn't want to be tempted and I knew I wouldn't touch it. This time, people came from Seattle, WA. Palo Alto, and some other far flung distances. The box was nice and warm when I bought it and it felt good in my hand. The whole time I heard people saying, "No! What? Is that seniorita bread? Awesome!. It/s so good that my paleo eating stepson requested it. He's pretty strict, so this was a big deal for him. I was so confused what starbread was and no one seemed to have a good description of it. Now that I've tried it, I feel the same way. You just have to try it for yourself. It's like a donut, but not as sweet and not as hard. It's fluffy but not that fluffy. It's airy and light. It's kinda oily so don't eat while driving. It's more of a dessert than a bread. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you. It looks a little sketch but the bread is worth trying. The workers will probably ignore you when you walk in, and you have to get their attention. There's a little parking lot outside. And they're also not overly expensive, 5 for $2. You probably shouldn't eat more than 5 at a time anyway. They make a lot at once. read more
