made the mistake of giving this place another shot today -- big mistake. $11 for a "meal" I wouldn't even feed to my dog. The BBQ chicken bowl? Mostly skin and fat. The macaroni? Service was friendly. Mac salad and rice are good. Katsu chicken was old. Tasted expired and freezer burnt. It was inedible. Fried shrimp and fish were ok. Shrimp was all batter and fish was coated ok. Fish tasted ok. "BBQ" chicken was soaked in soy sauce type marinade. Could barely taste the meat. Cabbage under food is not cooked. Tried here several times. Chicken katsu was soggy and gross, despite picking up our order promptly and eating in the car. It seemed like it sat for a while before they let us know it was ready! The teriyaki chicken plate (which we usually get) was very gristly and a lot of fat! Also, portions seemed smaller than last time. Don't waste your money! Definitely better Hawaiian bbq spots out there. Service was not warm or friendly either. They had an attitude. Went for lunch on Tues 11-11. I ordered the volcano chicken and a side of volcano sauce cause they NEVER put enough. The sauce that I had to pay for went uneaten because it was soooo salty. I have had it before at different restaurants and never has it tasted so salty bad. I bit into the chicken and I am not sure if it was cooked in old oil, if the meat was bad or if it was freezer burnt. It had an old flavor. Asked my friend to try it and she agreed so I know it wasn't just me. I had two pieces and threw the rest out along with the salty sauce. I did eat the Mac salad and it was delicious. Not a very good experience. Had to throw everything out cause I didn't want good poisoning. Very disappointed... won't be going back to this location. Great service! Fast and fresh. I would never have ordered a double cheeseburger at a spot like this but I definitely recommend. It's 2 smashed burger patty's with a fresh soft bun. Pretty sad that this establishment lost a long time customer due to the person behind the counter acting as the restroom police. I placed an order online. When I arrived to pick it up I asked the person behind the counter for the restroom code. He let me know that the restroom was for customers only. I advised him that I had ordered online and he said the restroom code was on the receipt. I showed him the order on my phone and I told him I don't see a restroom code. He finds my food order (which was ready) behind the counter, look at the receipt (DoorDash) and says "there's no restroom code on the receipt. At this point I'm thinking a you just verbally tell me the restroom code now that you've established that I'm a paying customer. Instead he grabs someone else's receipt from his stack of stabbed receipts behind the counter and gives me a receipt with the restroom code. I go use the restroom, toss the receipt in the trash and proceed to get my food so I can leave. As I ask for my food he says "where's the receipt I gave you?" I told him I threw it away in the bathroom. He starts to hold my food hostage saying he needs the receipt back so other people don't find the restroom code. Seriously?? Everything is amazing from the fried shrimp to the chicken Katsu, the spam masubi the macaroni salad, and the barbecue chicken and barbecue beef. The owner I believe is at the cash register sure he's very nice. Always has a smile always welcoming since reopening after Covid. Their menu is extensive and you can't go wrong with the combo plates. However, their spam musubi is lacking. I asked for mine crispy given that the pics looks like it was barely cooked. There was nothing crispy about it. And the musubi isn't as dressed as other places. There's barely any sauce. Not the best place to get spam musubi. I ordered grilled fish and beef bbq, I got fried tilapia which was over cooked and incorrect and the bbq beef tasted like jerky with teriyaki sauce. Mac salad tasted old and sucked as well. Just got home and sat down to enjoy a Hawaiian bbq lunch. Much to my surprise, my food looks absolutely disgusting. I order a half bbq beef and half bbq chicken with all mac. You let me know what it looks like I received? Not only did it not look disgusting, it smelled and tasted bad. The beef had a horrible taste and smell. Hard to believe that the cooks couldn't of smelled that. Especially when they would have had to scoop up the beef scraps. Has anyone else has bbq beef served like this? I would steer clear of this place. If you choose to eat here, I'd open your container in front of them and maybe have a sample before leaving. Don't loose out on your hard earned money like I did. Horrible manager/supervisor. She tried to pretend that I was in the wrong. I ordered over the phone and she told me 5-7 minutes. When i got there she gave me attitude but the only pleasant person was the young guy behind the counter telling me I was going to get some kind of discount after she got off a personal call. She waved him off and came and told me she needs approval from a supervisor, knowing she was the supervisor/manager. AMAZING YOUNG GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER. The owner ( I suppose ) started cracking jokes and made the experience better ( not that is was bad before ) just made me want to return when I'm treated well! They have Hawaiian sodas in cans ! My mom doesn't get anything but I always get the Spam Musubi & it's DELICIOUS and you pay less than $5 for 2 !! If you like seaweed spam and rice please try it you will LOVE IT. It has a light sauce in it so it's not dry either! Ask for teriyaki sauce if you need some extra help with dryness lol. I've got the teriyaki chicken in the past and it was always amazing as well with rice and the sauce that you get on the side ! Wow. Disappointing. It used to be better. But quality went way down. Pricing isn't too bad but when you eat the food, pricing isn't justified. Where to begin. Got the mixed BBQ plate and it only came with 1 short rib. But even then, I see why they only give 1: it's inedible! It takes 50+ chews to even get close to thinking you can swallow it, but then it stays chewy. The meat...isn't great. You would think Hawaiian BBQ, cooked on a grill, would have a ton of flavor. But that unfortunately wasn't the case. It was just salty but with no true flavor. I had to add BBQ Sauce (which isn't really a sauce, it's more of a liquid next to the water dispenser) which is 100% needed to add flavor. I also got the spam musubi, which is hard to mess up. I want to give this place zero stars. I went here recently and when I got home to eat the food, it did not taste fresh and the macaroni salad tasted weird. At first I thought "maybe it's lacking seasoning" but no the macaroni tasted sour. After just a few bites (literally a taste test) lo and behold I got food poisoning. I ordered party trays here for the holidays and they don't disappoint. On Christmas Eve I got the short ribs and the katsu curry chicken. On New Years Eve I got the hamburger with gravy, barbecue chicken, breaded shrimp and macaroni salad. Will definitely look forward to ordering more. read more

Fast and consistent every time. My go-to Hawaiian BBQ place. It was pretty busy during lunch time while we are sheltering in place but I guess we all had to get our fix. I always call ahead and today I placed my usual bbq chicken bowl, 2 scoops of Mac salad, separated for the kid and I, and 4 spam masubis. Yea, the bbq sauce and hot sauce are pretty much liquid form with no thickness (1 star off for that), but you mix it together for a "vinegary" flavor poured over your rice and to dip the chicken in. There's always a nice person behind the counter to greet me. Most cases, they'll have my food ready in 5-10 minutes! Can't beat it. read more

If you're looking for a solid meal that will satisfy your hunger and not break the bank this so the place. We usually get the mixed plate with BBQ rib and BBQ chicken. We order a piece of katsu on the side. Plenty of food for two. The bbq rib and beef are hit and miss which is why I only gave 4 starts. But otherwise the food here is solid. Doesn't disappoint. I kindly ask for water but I was denied and told that they don't have water. I have to buy their bottled water. in California, water conservation rules prohibit restaurants from automatically serving water unless the customer asks for it.
