Once again I found myself in a Starbucks :). I like this Starbucks. Great customer service! One of the bigger venues that I've seen. Loved the warm colors of the interior and warm lighting combined with the scent of coffee, creating a calm, comfortable environment. On one end of the cafe, a group of large, cozy chairs and sofa. Looked so comfy, I wanted to sit there so badly, but they weren't vacant. Throughout the cafe, many tables at which you can study, work, plug-in your laptop, or read a book as you enjoy your drink and pastry. Chen, the barista, overheard me forgetting the name of a raspberry tea, so he suggested passionfruit tazo tea with raspberry. How nice of him! I ordered this drink, asked them to make it frothy and blend the ice, which the barista had no problem doing and I liked the drink. I also ordered, yours truly, a vanilla bean cupcake :). Cupcake was too dry for my liking (I think that's the texture of Starbucks brand cupcakes). The cream on top was not too sweet, sprinkled with sugar crystals and I could even see the tiny vanilla beans in it! Great taste of vanilla. Didn't like the texture though. Chen was exceptionally friendly and chipper when taking my order. He even addressed me by name and said, "Thanks Liz," I found this funny. He asked my sister if we were studying, just to start a little conversation. When we left, he remembered my name and said, "Bye Liz!" Most personal customer service I've ever received at a Starbucks, such a nice little touch that made my experience memorable. I'd definitely come here again on a Saturday afternoon. This place also gets my star of approval because I was able to work the whole 2 hrs! No distractions, just efficient working. read more

THIS IS THE BEST STARBUCKS IN THE BAY! ~ I've worked in downtown Burlingame for over 5 years and go to Starbucks probably -more than I should, but the staff is just so awesome and make it so easy for me and my team to get our caffeine for the day. This is by far the best staff this location has had in the years I've been going. I was going to put individual names but LITERALLY, ALL of the staff I see there (almost daily) always make my day! They are a busy store so understand that your drink might take a little longer if they are backed up and they only have two toasters so cut them some slack! read more

I have been going to this Starbucks for awhile now. I was surprise how many local "retireeers" frequents this location instead of Peet's. It is so much fun to see, two old men, sitting outside, truly enjoying their moment!! When I live to be 80 years old, I want to be as happy like them. Enjoying the zest of life!! :p This location is narrow and bathroom is located way on the back towards the other entrance, opposite Burlingame Ave. Yes, two entrances!! LOL Service have been upbeat, and the staff gets you in and out!! It does get very crowded here after 3pm when school gets out, and parking can be a challenge so I recommend parking at the lots with a 2 hour parking!! I LOOOOOVE this Starbucks and I'm so grateful they are the closest Starbucks to my work. I always mobile order but I have never walked in and had to wait for my drink. Today, I ordered later than normal and expected to wait, and still my drink was on the bar waiting for me to pick it up. The extra star this branch gets is for the fact that they are open till 12:30am on Saturdays. Every Starbucks I've generally been to is shuttered around 9/10pm. The interesting thing is when we were waiting for our drinks, I went to use the restroom only to find it locked. As we got our drinks, as series of people tried to use the restroom, also to find it still locked. After we finished our drinks, a guy and a girl proceed to exit the restroom at the same time with guilty looks on their faces. THEY WERE BOINKING IN THERE! This is a busy Starbucks next to the hospital, high school and offices. But the lines goes quickly and the service is attentive. I like the fact that I can park and enter from the back of this Starbuck. Parking is ample on both sides. If I don't have another business in the mall, I will park in the back. Great corner location, and spacious inside with tables lining the windows and a small counterspace near the pickup drink area. Possible outside seating but it wasnt set up when I was there (6:45pm). Friendly staff, decent selection of food, place looks clean and the coffee condiment area was pretty clean as well (always a plus). After going this location for over 3 years, I've found that my previous poor experience is due to some specific employees. The rest of them indeed are much better, professional and I felt I owe to update my review. (They greet customers in a respectful manner and they serve orders in time - nothing special but just expected level). Reading the other reviews, I think we all are referring to the same specific person(s - I know 2 in particular). Whenever I go there when they are in shift, I still never get my hot sauce pack without reminding and they just never call my name when my order is ready and never greet or help customers unless they ask. I mean... they're at least consistent and I know what to expect when I see them. Management should step up and address that. read more

This is the only place one Burlingame Ave that will allow people to use the restroom 1st without question. The problem also is a small amount of homeless or homeless like people who would stay in the restrooms for awhile so waits can be over 10 mins. Good little Starbucks in Burlingame. It can be a little hard to grab a table since it's always very busy. I always sit down and order from my phone and just go pick it up when I hear my name. Bathrooms are very clean and a perfect little spot if you want to get some work done. Love sitting outside when the weather is nice. As for coffee and pastries, it's Starbucks. I gave them two tries..and I'm not going to this Starbucks again. Bad baristas. The first time I ordered a mocha but it tasted like a plain, bitter latte. Usually Id let it go, but there was no line, so I politely started to explain that I would like a new drink. Instead, I was cut off, mid-sentence by the barista "Fine." She says. And as she made me drink, she began speaking in Spanish to another barista. Though I speak little Spanish, I know enough to tell when someone is talking s**t. :/ Second time, I really needed to use the bathroom and as I began to ask for the code, that same middle aged hispanic barista "BROKEN" she barked. This is my neighborhood Starbucks, and I love it. I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews. I've been here 25 or 30 times. The baristas are always friendly, and my drink is made well 90% of the time. There's a wide assortment of snacks at this location, and it's also one of their test locations. You can get Prosecco and bacon wrapped dates (though I never have). It's consistent and reliable, and they do a good job with moving through long lines. Keep it up! read more

The wait for your drink is so long here! I know it gets busy, but so do other locations I've been to and the wait didn't seem as long. On my last trip my friends & I were way after this one girl waiting for her drink, yet we still got ours first. Oh and the bathroom was disgusting. 2 stars for the plethora of outdoor and indoor seating, though you will need to be on the prowl for a table! And as it is The Ave., fellows if you wanna nab a Cougar you may wanna hang out here. There are a lot of addictions one can suffer from in the world. Mine's coffee. Which is great! It doesn't hurt my liver or lungs, it won't cause my teeth or hair to fall out, and it makes me a better human being overall. (Aside from those pesky caffeine lows which send me crawling back to this--the best Starbucks on the planet--with my travel mug in hand). The staff here is beyond excellent--so much nicer, more professional, more competent, and friendlier than any set of baristas at any coffee shop I have ever been to. And I get around. They know what they're doing and enjoy doing it. I have seen them put up with many a nasty customer with unbelievable patience and grace. For that, they could spit in my coffee and I'd still tip. Alright THAT'S taking it too far but I've made my point. This cafe is awesome for the people that work here. Bad Customer Service! I wanted to order a simple green tea frappe. The man making the drink was Benette. As he was making another woman's drink, he wasn't even looking at was he was doing because he was talking to another lady. When he finished the drink, the woman who ordered asked: "Is this soy milk? Is this sugar-free?" He responded: "Uhhh I'm not sure, but you can try it." This was so unprofessional, not even knowing what he was making. Then as he was making my drink, the green tea sat in the blender for about 2 minutes. *STILL* talking to the woman, my friend proceeded to say "Hurry up, chop chop" in a friendly manner.
