I ordered a lavender latte, it tasted bland, very different from other lavender lattes. When I got home, I poured it into a cup and noticed most of the lavender was clumped at the bottom of the cup. Barista does need to make sure they properly shake and mix the drink so it does not clump on the bottom. read more

Pretty average overall. My mobile order with two drinks was done in about 10 minutes despite being busy. It seems like they did not put enough strawberry purée in my drink but was still yummy as I added liquid sweetener. There is nice decor and sufficient outlets scattered throughout the store, would definitely study here if I had the opportunity to. It is also very bright with all of the windows. read more

My wife and I went to the Elmhurst Starbucks on York Rd. After a movie at our favorite theatre (York theatre). We each ordered a Grande Carmel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino. They tasted bitter for some reason so we returned th and asked for Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccinos instead. They were happy to help, but unfortunately the same problem happened. Drinks were bitter. We returned them for a full refund which Starbucks was happy to process for us. So the customer service was ok, but not happy at all with product quality. This is the second time I. The past 6-7 months we have visited this particular Starbucks and have not been happy either time. I can only suspect they have a training issue or a single component product that has gone through a dramatic change. Cmon Starbucks, get your $&1t together. read more

I came here for breakfast while I waited on my partner to complete the brewery's 5k. I didn't like that there's limited street parking around the corner, and it's diagonal on the corner so about 10 cars or so can park there. I ended up parking in the garage on Addison Ave and walked over. I did a mobile order, and it was a short wait for my ham and cheese croissant sandwich and a grande iced caramel macchiato. The staff here is friendly, energetic, accurate and efficient. They honored my customizations such as almond milk in my drink and light ice, which I appreciate. The sandwich had a good amount of ham and cheese in it, and even though it's tiny, I still appreciate it, and when you have it warmed up the cheese melts which is nice. There's also plenty of tables and chairs there. The shop was clean, and there were a lot of people this morning getting their fixing and a good amount people hang out as well. I was able to enjoy my drink and my sandwich fresh. This is a Starbucks that I'd return to when in the area, even though I don't necessarily love the street parking situation. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area with a taste for Starbucks with great service. read more

They always close early and sometimes they were just closed. They hardly make the drinks, correct. Either their water down or very milky. I missed my entire break at work and then some and any time I tried to politely ask a worker for help I was dismissed and they told me coldly that they were running behind. They were out of a number of items including "blueberry juice" so I couldn't get an iced blueberry tea but they were are to make an iced peach green tea lemonade, medium, $4.09 in under 5 minutes. Staff friendly, efficient, man who delivered my tea wished me a good day. Outdoor seating. Floor, tables, and side counter could use a tidy up and parking is a bit of a challenge on this busy stretch of York Road. Overall a good location. read more

Unlawful Discrimination against customers. Monica the cashier has always been a bit snarky. This particular morning when I was ordering, I asked her to use my rewards points. The points didn't go through so I asked for her to help fix it. My Starbucks app was having a difficult time displaying the barcode and she got rude and impatient with me. I am very pregnant and she said it was my ***pregnancy brain*** that caused it loudly in front of other customers. This is illegal discrimination, but I wouldn't be surprised if she stays since I have been told that she is rude to everyone. This SBUX has lost my business. Bye. read more

This location has definitely improved since my last review, which I posted 4 years ago. This shop is in the heart of downtown Elmhurst, near several restaurants, entertainment businesses, and other local establishments. I visit this location every week. All of the staff are friendly and get to know you better. One of them -- Anthony -- even knows my usual drink and is always happy to strike up a conversation with customers. His uniform says that he's the "Partner of the Quarter", and I can see why! Two of the other baristas also know me by name. All of the staff are helpful in explaining the menu and suggesting new drinks to try, which makes me even more excited to stop by when new seasonal menus come out. read more

One of the baristas was very snarky my total was 5.01 so I looked for a penny but she looked into my wallet n told me to pay with my twenty like if I were her kid, I told her I'm looking for change couldn't find any change so have her the 20 and as she took it she goes "thank you this is how you pay for things" which made me take my money back and go get coffee somewhere else, I can tell she doesn't get much tips, do no go here your money is better somewhere else. read more

Most of the time, I have no issues. Today I came in and ordered a Venti Ice Peach Green Tea. The cashier failed to ask me wether I wanted it sweetened or not. So I didn't remember to tell them no. Then I let her no and she says "You're supposed to tell me that". But I'm not, she's supposed to ask so I can tell her. It took a little over 8 minutes to get my drink with not many customers. OH! And I scanned my Starbuck's app and then told her I was paying with my Debit Card. I am stunned. Simply stunned. Utterly stunned. I guess you could say I'm stunned. Though not my regular Starbucks, I have stopped in for my gold standard: Grande Soy Latte with a pump of Cinnamon a total of three times. And each and every one of those three times, they have hit it out of the park. Efficient, friendly, first name basis kind of customer care. The lid stays on, the shots are warm and mellow, and my drink is exactly how I like it: heaven in a paper cup. I'm really surprised that this particular Starbucks hasn't made the hit list before. The place sits in a perfect corner locale, has nifty tables where you can chill, and has some later store hours, which I was happy to take advantage of. If there is a drawback it isn't the product or service, it is the fact that, if you are crunched for time, there are only two '10 minute only' parking slots right outside. I am stunned this is their first review, as well, because from the looks of it they have more than a fair share of regulars. I would be stunned if this review is the last. He who is spoiled rotten, wanted a Starbucks. We had dropped off the older brother - the one who says, "Mommy loves me the most!" I had cooked for him and made him a snack for later... Elmhurst downtown isn't that large so with just a quick run over the train tracks - there was a Starbucks on the corner. There was parking right out in front, so that part was easy. The barista was training a new employee, but I didn't fluster either of them with my questions or chatter. The employee in training had a look on her face that said I just mastered the crazy customer. My son, the spoiled one-was kind of embarrassed, (at least I wasn't loud). Our drinks were ready in under a three minutes and we were on our way. I also noticed that the store was comfortable and trendy for folks who wish to sit and read a book in a coffee shop. read more

Like Another review said, the menu is the same at every Starbucks you visit. I don't go to Starbucks for their fresh brewed coffee, to me it taste like burnt coffee, I go for their specialty drinks. Caramel Macchiato, White Chocolate Mocha, Pumpkin Spice Latte, etc. This time I tried a Pepper Mint mocha, not really my cup of tea (in this case coffee), but I drank it. The service was friendly and parking is a hassle but I found a spot. If you're in the downtown Elmhurst are walking around, it's a nice place to stop and get some cafe. read more

Been a frequent customer here for the past year, and I have to say the service has gone downhill. Being a quality chain of coffee shops, reviews for Starbucks turn almost exclusively on the service, which is why I'm giving it only 2 stars. On numerous occasions I have stopped here to order a latte or green tea before heading downtown only to have a 7-10 min wait for my drink after I've ordered it. The baristas (possibly tired from the morning rush) meander behind the counter assembling my drink and eat through the time I left myself to catch the train. I understand that this sounds incredibly demanding, but the two locations I frequent downtown move twice as fast with a much longer line. I hate to give such a low rating to an otherwise friendly staff, but having to budget 20 minutes to get a coffee is excessive. Will probably only return out of convenience. Just a month or two ago... this would be a 5 star review.. All employees were super friendly, helpful, fast. Half the time-they'd remember your drink if u ordered frequently. In the last month or so, 90% of the former staff has left...being replaced by lazy, SUPER incompetent robots with zero personality. There can be long lines, & 2 of them will be on the side, gossiping. ughhh. i still notice the same managers..but this new crew is frustratingly disappointing. This is a pretty basic Starbucks in downtown Elmhurst. They have a good amount of seating and it's not too hard to find a plug. I love the windows on 2 sides which give you a lot of sunlight and a nice view into the hustle and bustle of downtown Elmhurst. My only cons is that it is a little cold because of the door location and the seating right near it. Also, parking can be a little tricky during busier hours. read more

Last evening my daughter and several of her friends stopped in this Starbucks. A few made purchases and few did not. They were ordered to leave by a curly haired male employee. Yes they are teenagers AND yes they are customers. This is not the first time. If this continues I'm putting a stop on the biweekly Starbucks reloads. When I write reviews, I try to focus and rate on the factors that the business can control. With that said, I think the staff at this location are friendly and turn drinks around quickly. I myself am not a frequent coffee drinker, but the mixed coffee drinks I have ordered here are some of the best ones I've had at a Starbucks location. In general, the place is pretty clean and tables are widely available. I enjoy the "booth style" seating against the wall as well as the little bar seating area. For the things that don't make me happy but are out of the location's control: the noise and amount of kids and teenagers in there. I came in after dinner on a Friday night to enjoy some time away from the house to catch up on my book. The experience was anything but relaxing. Young boys playing tag or something, running in and out of the men's restroom, teenagers flipping hair and screaming (talking?) to one another. It was VERY loud, and I agree with other reviewers in that this location is not a good place to go if you are looking for a quiet place to read/study and enjoy your coffee. read more

You know, Starbucks are Starbucks. It's the baristas that make it or break it. This is a wonderfully staffed store. Every morning at 5am I'm there and greeted with a smile and my drink waiting for me. I've read complaints about the teenagers. Yes, in the evenings on weekends, it becomes crowded with high schoolers who can sometimes be overwhelming. I can't hold that against the store. They're never out of control, and they buy things, so there is no reason the management would kick them out. It's just a function of being in downtown Elmhurst, two doors down from the theatre. read more

I am not one to write negative reviews and would much rather praise exceptional service but my experience last week needs to be addressed by management! Not a single employee smiled or said hi during the 30 minutes it took for me to wait in line, place my order then wait for my order. When I approached the register the cashier asked "What do you want? Name?" then proceeded to make my drink. Employees were not helping each other but rather taking orders and making their own drinks. At 9am, an employee was stocking the front cooler which resulted in a need to constantly push through the line of customers (and again no "excuse me" or "hi". I have never been to such a disorganized and unfriendly Starbucks! I contacted corporate to inform them of my experience and the service was no better. I am not a fan of high priced coffee, but I had a $5 gift card, and I was thirsty.... The iced coffee I had I can't even soell, but it had caramel on top. I also had a raspberry swirl pound cake. The cake was moist and sweet tart. I saved half to eat on my full day of flights cross country. The cake was filling, and the raspberry flavor came through announcing its self. The iced coffee, while being refreshing on a warm summer day, was highly over priced. Earlier during the week, I had an iced coffee from Dinkin Donuts that was just as refreshing than Starbucks, and a third of the price of Starbucks coffee. I guess Starbucks has its snob factor. Their cafe's are quaint and serve an individual's needs, as they provide free wifi. You'll be lucky to find a place to sit, as the tables are full of people staring into their electronic devises. read more

This store is highly mismanaged. This is absolutely the busiest Starbucks I have ever experienced, I work here often. The staff is polite (slow, but nice), and are only a reflection of how they're taught. I don't enjoy being rude, but I can't understand a location in the center of downtown Elmhurst not being pristine in every regard. The bathrooms are constantly a mess, the garbage is always full and there is only one person working the register (all too often). There is ALWAYS a line. The staff is also extremely loud. I know, I don't pay rent - but I expect A+ operations from a billion dollar brand. read more

Seriously the BEST Starbucks location! I love Starbucks in general but this location makes the drinks exactly how they should be made! The coffee never tastes burnt. I don't think I've ever ordered a drink from this location that was made wrong. My usual is either iced coffee or hott latte and like I said, they taste how they should taste! As a former barista, this place overprioritzes its mobile orders and definitely does not do their part in giving the customer a good impression.
