Finally tried Dutch Bros on my way out of Yosemite Park last week. I had some coffee in the morning…read morewith my breakfast, but after having lunch in Bass Lake, I knew I would need to caffeinate for the long journey back to LA. We stopped here since it was one of few areas when I searched for a bathroom for my kiddo. Killed two birds with one stone. My dad just wanted an Americano, which he enjoyed with a bit of creamer and splenda. My mom and I decided to each try their Golden Eagle iced coffee. It's a vanilla latte with caramel drizzle. We both asked for it half sweet and found them to be quite sweet, but the espresso was quite bold still. I can't imagine what a full-sweet would taste like. I loved the retro feel of the place, from their signs, furniture and lighting. It was very clean in the lounging area and also the restrooms. I believe we're getting a couple of Dutch Bros in neighboring cities to me, so I can't wait to try more of their drinks.

At first I was bummed that I got a bagel instead of something from Jamba Juice because an acai bowl sounded amazing. He ordered his smoothie but then asked if he could sit outside because he couldn't stand the smell. He said it smelled "super processed" but I think it was more like the toxic ingredients in some cleaning agents. After a couple minutes the smell started making me feel ill too. He only drank half his smoothie. I can see how the thought of that smell could make anything coming from there not taste good. He said it tastes like its probably not good for him.

I ordered a medium double chocolate blended mocha, extra thick. It always looks the same. Today, after I got to the window in the drive thru, I was handed a drink with no chocolate visible on top, or the side. However, when it was handed to me, it spilled all over my arm, I commented rathered surprised and frankly, sad-, there was no offer of a napkin, or an "I'm sorry." I literally kept flicking my arm with the dripping off liquid out my window, and no response. The employees said they would remake it. By this point, I was sticky, and just wanted the beverage I paid for. They apologized for the wait, then handed me what can only be described as....you want chocolate- I'll give you chocolate "bitter remake." I say it in jest, but I really cannot stress the overly unnecessary amount. I could not drink it. I tried moving the straw around to different parts, it was like half a bottle of Hershey's was poured. It was not extra thick in texture, but pure watery- not freeze texture, yet all syrup. (Please see pictures- fyi-you can't see all the chocolate in the center, but it was utterly undrinkable). I tried to phone the number to the location, but was rerouted to a customer service line where there was no one to take my call. This beverage was $7.65. I did not get what was paid for. I did not receive helpful customer service, and I am just in shock. This is not what this brand is all about. I truly hope that the management and follow-through with training individuals from the front window, to those making creations improves at this location. My takeaway, I'm out $7.65, I have no drinkable beverage without feeling grossly sick, and I will most likely not want want to return.

This is a newer Dutch in a location off Herndon where I'm sure they get a lot of traffic. The vibes are so rotten here so often. I usually get a drink with oat milk and like 6 out of ten times I get real milk. That's a super bummer. They also just push you through, ignore you at the window and have no Dutch Bros esprit de corps. Bummer.
