I just got done with a lunch date nearby and needed a little pick me up to finish my errands. I'm assuming all their locations are similar in that this place is a drive thru or walk up concept. I almost drove past because the drive thru line spilled out into the road but then I saw they had two lanes moving at a pretty rapid pace. Just from what I saw, it seemed like the whole staff was young, high school kids, but they were working hard. They had multiple people walking the lines with an iPad taking orders and keeping traffic flowing. I explained it was my first time so the young lady gave a quick run down of some of their popular items and asked what flavor profiles I like. The line moved quick and I liked that they took the time to wipe down each drink before handing it over so there was no mess. Great customer service. I ended up ordering the Cookie Butter iced coffee. The flavors of this coffee included toasted marshmallow, hazelnut and white chocolate breve. I like a breve because you get a creamier drink. The flavors worked well together and I really enjoyed my drink. I typically like a more coffee forward drink, but every once in awhile I like a dessert like drink. This was that. 7 Brew is one of many like chains in the area so competition is high out here. In my opinion, this place has a slight edge over the other places in that they have a great variety of drinks and great customer service. I will most definitely be back.

Finally next in line pick up our drinks, still behind the same car. Even more staff comes out to talk to the person in the car, they were given their drink, but continued to sit there holding up the line. Staff finally brings us our drinks, I asked "is this person going to move or are we going to have to go around them?" The staff said the person in the car worked there so everyone was just saying hi. They did not prompt the person in the car to move, just continued sitting there. The franchise owner should be embarrassed of their staff.

The ube one was a little bit too sweet for my liking, but the flavor was excellent, I love a good cold foam on my coffee. My only concern is that the drinks are pricey, but to be honest, what coffee shop/cafe isn't these days. Appreciate the ambiance, but it can be busy at times or too loud to get work done. I glanced around and saw that every table inside WAS seated, however there were many tables outside that were empty. I asked about the patio stating that us where we preferred to sit anyway, and was met with that they were also not seating the patio at all for the rest of the day. However, there was a group of 3 women seated outside on the patio at that exact time. I didn't say anything, simply turned and left. After having "one of those days" hashing out something so minute with a person who clearly didn't want us in their place of business was not something I was about to do. Keep in mind, we came on a Sunday afternoon. Prime brunch time. We arrived at the restaurant around 2:30PM, and their website says they don't close until 4PM. I am a biracial black woman and my friend is white. I noticed a significant amount of White and Latino patrons, but a shocking lack of Black people. With Houston having one of the most diverse populations in the US, it is almost impossible not to see at least one individual of each ethnicity in a place at any given time. I am definitely not one that likes to pull the race card, because oftentimes that is not the issue. However, as someone who is familiar with the service industry I understand Sundays can be extremely overwhelming. And I am cognizant that not everything is that serious. But, I am also aware that a lot of people in the industry discriminate against people of color, with stigmas that we don't leave enough gratuity or we "don't fit the vibe of their establishment". And those 3 women seated on the patio? All White. After reading recent reviews, it seems that management is discriminating against people of color, more specifically Black folks. This is an extremely disheartening and sickening realization to make, seeing as I have given well over $1,000 worth of my money here but also enjoyed many meals without issue. To management: It breaks my heart to have to write this review and to be honest, I wouldn't have written it if I hadn't seen others posting about similar experiences in addition to also feeling discriminated against. I highly suggest that if you are "not seating" after a specific time, you announce this via social media or alert potential patrons with a sign or something of the sort. & obviously, there is such an issue with treatment towards POC that it is a noteworthy problem via your Google & Yelp reviews. You will have a much bigger fish to fry on your hands if you continue to let this issue go on unrectified. I would be willing to return if I felt things were to be changed for the better in the future! Hopefully this review sparks a much needed conversation and brings attention to an area which needs work.
