I stopped by my local Starbucks because I needed to get out of the house. Working from home can be strenuous on the mind and body. Lots of snacking...lol. I ventured out to Haleiwa Starbucks and picked up my free birthday drink. Medium Hot Chocolate without whipped cream. The manager was really nice. She gave me my drink today even tho yesterday was my birthday. All the young ladies were happily working and it just made for a delightful experience. So as I sit here outside perishing for my meeting. The location is super busy. The customers walk in and immediately walk out. That's pure productivity at its best. By the way, my Hot Chocolate is da bomb. Great place to get some work done and grab a bite to eat.

First time at this location and was pleasantly surprised. Located in the beginning of Old Haleiwa Town right off the freeway. Not much parking, but doable if you are craving a delicious Starbucks drink. This location is pretty big with lots of room for social distancing with plenty of seating if you need a break. Service was quick and the Baristas are really friendly. They have a bunch of them making drinks, but the seem to be able to function well. My drink was made well and and I noticed they have a few new drinks coming this Spring. Can't wait to try them.

I stop by this Starbucks only once a month. I order the same thing every time. Grande Caramel frappe. Sometimes with heavy caramel. So today I'm asking why was I served something without caramel. Not even a drizzle. And when I asked the barista what's this. She replied " oh it's what you ordered. A grande Caramel frappe. Oh I can add a drizzle." Funny thing is. Every single Caramel frappe this same barista made had caramel drizzle but the one she handed me. I'm a 52 year old military veteran my observation skills are excellent. And this frappe is horrible. I asking again. What is this?

    Pink Drink

I've never left a bad review before in my life just a little sad about this. Ordered 2 venti pink drinks at 5:30 pm when they close at 6:30 pm. They were clearly cleaning early so they could get off and close early. They had cleaned all their shakers so instead of using one for a pink drink, she blended it. It left it super foamy and poured the leftovers (because there was SO much foam) down the sink. The 2nd photo is how much drink I had after I scooped out the foam. I honestly wouldn't have cared if she gave us the right amount in another cup. That would have been okay I can scoop off the foam and I am not a complainer. But this is an expensive drink to pay $7 per venti and only get it filled up about halfway. Just a little frustrating the money I pay for this is being poured down the drain because they can't wait to leave work.

Everyone is always friendly. I have never gotten a "bad" coffee. Can't wait until The holiday season for my chestnut praline...yum!

Thats Only Mainland... Pretty sure some of us here in Hawaii have heard that excuse here when inquiring about special deals and offers. So today I wanted a free cup of coffee for Veterans Day, first time doing so with Starbucks, heck i dont even come here often as I prefer local small boxes when it comes to my morning mojo, and the only other Starbuck Ive been known to grow and love is the one from Battlestar Galactica lol. I'm skeptical places even honor these offers and able to match the same luxuries given to this entity called the "Mainland" but just thought Id give it a swirl today. I was surprised with the cleanliness, service, and overall theme look of this place which was a stark contrast to the more modern squarish themes going on with most of the other Starbuck places round here. It felt more like a country tavern feel to it with the entry just located at the delta like entrance of Old Country Haliewa. The outside patio lines the exterior as morning sippers or guzzlers gander and mingle at the entering patrons at tbe tune of whizzing passerby cars. The barista was happy to accomadate my request and I was in and out in a minute. No I don't normally heavily support national chains over local ones, but moreso, I support the workers and setup they got going on here. Most importantly I gotta support any place that supports and honors our Veterans and doesnt give me that lame excuse of: "Thats Only Mainland"

I was hesitant to "like" a chain coffee house opening in Haleiwa but Starbucks did it right. Cool North Shore vibe, big lanai, plenty of inside and outside seating. We were greeted by friendly and excited to be open baristas including Charley, who remembered us and our regular order from the Mililani Town location. Very clean, bright and airy. Nice to know I can get some stars on my way to the beach!

We shared the pecan pie, pineapple muffin, and pumpkin muffin. I really liked the pecan pie crust. Both the muffins were moist, and I enjoyed the chunks of fruit in the pineapple one. I wanted to get savory food, but they were sold out by the time we got there. I also got a golden turmeric latte. I don't really know what I was expecting from a golden turmeric latte, but it just tasted earthy. Nothing amazing about it, but I'm sure it had great health benefits. Service was super friendly even though it was rather busy when we went. There was lots of seating in this cute covered area separated from the shop. I liked how quiet it was compared to the inside of the shop where they are calling out orders. I'm so sad that this place is closing after serving Haleiwa for so many years!

It seems like this is not only a spot for tours, it seemed like locals and military personnel know about this place and stop by for a cup of coffee. I like how they have an actual cafe with fun drinks and muffins and pastries, which is probably what brings in local guests. They have samples of certain coffees inside the gift shop plus a lot of fun gifts. The coffee is a bit pricy but I landed on getting the coffee cake flavor. I typically do not love flavored coffee, but the sample was so good, I hope once we grind it is is as good as while being here. Some of the other dark roasts were also really good but even more expensive. If they coffee we purchased turns out to taste good, I would purchase more next time. They told us they coffee gets replaced at least once a week and they roast it fresh. I loved how you can walk through the coffee plants and see the berries. My favorites I always order are the vanilla cardamom bun, Don't Worry Brie Happy, banh mi, and Cardi B drink. I did want to share a couple of suggestions for the owner/manager because I'd love to see this place continue to improve. Lastly, please can you add some umbrellas above your wooden tables outside. It's way too hot, and the covered area is always full/loud. Would really love some umbrellas over the wooden tables. Coffee consistency: I've ordered the Cardi B around 20 times over the past four months. Less than half the time it's great, but more than half it has been disappointingly cold or poorly made. I understand that different baristas have different techniques, but the inconsistency is always noticeable. In my experience, about 15 out of 20 times the coffee drink has been cold because the milk is not being steamed and instead cold milk is being poured directly into the coffee. The amount of cardamom and sweetness/honey always varies too. Since the drink itself has such a great recipe, I'd really love to see more consistency in preparation--this could be improved through retraining baristas, reinforcing a gold standardized recipe, proper milk steaming technique, temperature guidelines, or additional barista training. Also, I've never had the same barista or cashier in all the times I visited. As a local regular, I do wish I could have a regular solid barista. Consider the best practice of scheduling people with consistent schedules weekly so people can develop loyalty and relationship with your cafe. Bagelweanies: These are SO delicious, but they are also way too salty. The large sea salt crystals on top look beautiful, but there is so much salt that it overwhelms the flavor and health nutrition. I always have to peel or scrap off the top bread to remove all the salt. The weenie itself is already salty enough, in my opinion. I'd strongly suggest reducing or even removing all the sea salt on top. It would make them more enjoyable and a more healthy. They will still taste great, look great, and you reduce the expense of sea salt! I'm sharing this because I genuinely love the food and want to see the café succeed. The pastries and food are clearly made with care, and with a little more consistency in the coffee and less salt on the bagelweanies, I think you'd have an even stronger experience.
