I know that Starbucks is known for coffee drinks. Yes, they do have delicious coffees! However, I almost always get an unsweetened iced tea. In the hot weather, I love to get their black iced tea. It is strong enough to not be watery and lacking flavor. On the bright side they also don't over do the tea until it gets bitter. They have mastered a really good black iced tea that is consistent. Ever since the Pandemic started - and I've been working from home - this Starbucks has been my daily go-to for all my caffeine needs. During hot and humid weather - the cold brew with a splash of heavy cream - Trenta size - is my daily delicious poison! This Starbucks is routinely VERY busy. Because of it's proximity to Interstate 66, Route 55, and U.S. 15 - you see a lot of travelers/tourists passing through - stop in here to caffeinate. During the Pandemic - I order my drink from my vehicle using the Starbucks apps on my iPhone, paying using the app and then waiting for the app notification to pop up that my drink is ready. I then don my facemask, scoot in to retrieve my drink - and am on my way. The customer service was cheerful and accommodating and you were greeted and acknowledged to be helped immediately which most places lack! .. Terrible drinks. This isn't a single occurrence. I've ordered the brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso and these teenagers just pour so much milk over the espresso. Espresso is not even shaken. Nice set up but not kept clean. Partners need better training! When someone states 160" then receives the drink & is told by barista to be careful it is hot, the barista dis not read the label. You must read labels if for no other reasons than for allergy purposes or for the possibility if burn ir scalding if milk. I had to go back & get cold milk & wait to drink. Okay, these kids are idiots, I'm not kidding! I asked for a decaf caramel frappe and the kid had to make the drink 3x. The first time he said to his co-worker I always mess these up. It's probably the facial tattoo ink going to your brain. Then there's facial piercings. Anyway, he hands me a white drink. I said, I think you forgot the coffee. He said, you ordered a cream base. I said I ordered a decaf caramel frappe. He says, "what's decaf?" ‍ I'm thinking to myself- dear god, these kids will be running the country here soon. This is why this place is so messed up. This is my favorite starbucks location in NOVA!! As a former service industry worker I KNOW with certainty that every employee at this location is putting in their absolute best effort. Despite rude customers and crazy rushes every employee is professional, kind, and patience. My favorite baristas have to be Indya, Mike, and Kyleigh! They are lovely inside and out. As a regular, I feel appreciated every time I come in and look forward to my morning and evening visits. Indya is extremely competent and knowledgeable- I wasn't surprised to learn that she has dedicated 3 years to the company. Mike is friendly and radiates positive energy! He truly brightens my mornings. Kyleigh is the fastest and the most efficient barista I have ever seen! She is quick to fix problems, diffuse conflict, and recommend her favorites. The only complaints I have are with Bryce. I witnessed an altercation between him and a Spanish speaking customer. His behavior was rude in that instance as well as other moments that I've witnessed between him and his fellow coworkers. All in all, Haymarket Starbucks is truly winning! read more

Hard to describe this place - it is a very fun hangout - cannot get enough of it. I noticed that the baristas make a genuine effort to know their customers by engaging in friendly conversation. In turn, these customers get to know the baristas. The result is that people have their favorite baristas - they ask for specific baristas by name. There is a community feel to the place because of these personal connections fostered by the employees. Great store culture. Just a very fun place to be. Even when I am doing work on my laptop, I have so much fun. For this reason, I keep coming back. One more thing - the restrooms are extremely clean - very important. read more

I end up at this particular Starbucks fairly frequently. It's super convenient to the I-66 and mobile ordering is easy and usually accurate. The baristas are very friendly and there is plenty of seating both of the casual variety and at tables near plug ins so that you can work. One caveat, when this place is busy it is swamped, and order accuracy and speed really suffer. The busiest days seem to be Saturday and Sunday when I have seen lines of people waiting for their orders as well as lines of 4-5 people for the restrooms! If you must stop on the weekend I advise downloading the app just for the convenience and time savings of placing a mobile order. I will say they are very speedy at filling mobile orders here. They are usually ready and waiting well before the estimated time. As always, the coffee and food are tasty and fresh a hallmark of Starbucks. Overall, this is a very good Starbucks. read more

The drinks are made completely wrong and it appears as if the younger workers making the drinks put no effort or care to even ensuring the orders are correct. The staff does a great job with all of the orders they get; however, ever since the weather warmed up, they have the AC turned up so cold that I was literally shivering in my seat, even while wearing a thin sweathshirt. I heard the manager tell a customer who complained about the temperature that corporate controls the temperature based on what it is in the back room, which makes NO SENSE what so ever. why would corporate tell the store manager in Haymarket to keep the temperature so cold that customers start shivering after a few minutes. Literally just got my drink and there's no coffee in it. My husband ordered an Horchata Almond Milk Frap for me, while running errands. I sent him an actual photo description from the store menu in the app to ensure there were no misunderstandings (my husband's not the best at remembering such "special coffee orders" if it's not just coffee with sugar, lol). He brought it home and immediately I knew it wasn't correct. I asked him if he asked for it specifically and he says he had to show her the picture and name because he wasn't about to try to pretend he knew what he was talking about, lol. I look at the label on my cup and it says Horchata CRM* Frap - I figured this was just shorthand or easier to be labeled this way in their system, so I shrugged it off. * it as an Horchata CREME Frap! After 2-3 sips I realize it tastes bland - just a watered down cream with cinnamon and caramel. That's when I realize how the color is so pale and that there's NO coffee in it at all! Such a giant disappointment considering the specific ingredient is the coffee! And while I'm ranting my first world problem, my husband tells me that the customer who ordered ahead of him had walked back in the store to complain about her drink as well. This is possibly the worst Starbucks that I have ever been to. I've been multiple times to this location because it's on my way to work. There's coffee grind sludge in the bottom of your cup on the regular, Staff (not all) is not very friendly and they serve molded and old food. I've gotten 2 molded Gluten Free sandwiches now and one liquid salad The last molded GF sandwich was the last straw because they actually cooked it and then tried to hide it in 2 other bags! I didn't realize it until I had eaten half of it and gotten all the way to work. When I called about it, they said there was nothing they could do. Rude staff, just lazy mismarked products but the 4 working standing around will tell you they are to busy to fix.

Since Oct 2023 I have come here to drink tea and sit outside. They have a great outside seating area. I don't drink coffee and am not really a fan of Starbucks' syrupy drinks. I like a couple of their pastries. The people working here have been super friendly. But last week I was harassment by two young guys on two different days two days apart. They harassed everyone not just me. They were spewing homophobic slurs at me, racist epithets at others, making comments about transgenders, and just general harassment to everyone else. Some people got up and left. Others just tried to laugh it off as they quickly went in and out. Some were very uncomfortable. I called inside and told the person who answered what was going on outside the first day. She told me to call the police. Everyone who worked that I encountered just about there apologized in between the two days that this happened not that it was their fault. On the second day of this I called again and informed the person that they just went inside and the person said she told them to leave as another customer recognized them from Walmart where the two were harassing people in Walmart. I contacted PWC police and they obviously are a disaster of bureaucracy or just simply don't care. They told me to call a number and receive a text to report it via a form. I did. Then they rejected my complaint(s) (filed one for each day) as I couldn't file such complaints via that manner (even though they specifically told me to). Then the person in email said she/he asked his supervisor who said I needed to call the police and speak to an officer in person only when it was happening. So they have their own issues protecting the community even when engaged. But I just feel that Starbucks should train its staff to adequately deal with such situations inside and outside esp when they are informed that this is going on. Since these two clowns know I visited there between 5 and 7pm every evening and harassed me both days I don't feel comfortable returning. I don't want people to read or hear about me being a victim on the news. Just all the way around an odd experience in 2024 and in Haymarket although I feel that PWC lags behind other Nova locals in such areas even with all the growth. read more

Once I finally received the replacement drink, I didn't like it at all - but there was NO way I was asking him to remake it again. Drank a little and tossed it in the garbage. The service here is top notch! My children and I stopped in for some hot chocolates, tea and breakfast after a long a tiring morning at a hockey tournament down the street. One thing from our order was not in stock after we paid (a plain bagel). The staff there offered to replace it with an everything bagel or a cinnamon bagel, but my son did not not like either and chose a donut. The baristas and staff are super friendly, and the to go items are always well stocked. However, this location would benefit from stream lining their production: one person to staff the register and preps the incoming pickup orders , one person who does the food warmer, and two baristas dedicated to making the drinks (hot and cold). The orders take way too long (we waited 10 minutes for an ice tea). The barista did one drink at a time. I know it is Starbucks policy to "handcraft" each drink but you can't have that and expect fast food like efficiency. Milk needs to be prepped and streamed before orders come rolling in so that the barista can just fill more than one at a time. There needs to be some kinda assembly line. Those poor baristas simply cannot keep up with the dozens of pick up orders streaming in every few minutes in addition to regular customers. read more

My wife and I stopped into this new Starbucks on Saturday morning on our way out of town for the day. This is definitely the nicest Starbucks I've ever set foot in. The interior is designed beautifully with the dark reclaimed wood and it's nice to see a Starbucks where the cold case isn't under the counter, making it easy to locate items without having to wait in line or excuse yourself past people. The store is fairly large, one of the largest I've been in recently and there is a lot of indoor seating without making the space cluttered. The store wasn't busy during our visit but it should handle the busier times a lot better than any of the other locations. I ordered my usual 5-pump, no water, Grande Soy Chai and they made it perfectly. My wife also enjoyed her drink a chocolate cinnamon bread and a double tall skinny cinnamon dolce latte. This will definitely be our go-to Starbucks in the area now, it's a lot more convenient for us and our drinks were better than the other location in Atlas Walk. They get 5-stars because this is the best Starbucks I've been to in a while. read more

I have visited this Starbucks several times and while I normally have good experiences at Starbucks, this location is not up to par with other locations. The only thing I like about this spot is the cool interior design. Otherwise the service at this location is very disappointing and I think Starbucks would be upset if they knew how bad it is. On multiple visits I have encountered less than friendly staff that shocked me when it comes to how little they care about the customer. On one recent occasion the barista was so downright rude to my wife and I that we have all but considered this location not worth the trouble. Prior to this experience it has been very common for me to come here and they not have the necessary ingredients to make my drink. It's just unacceptable. Those experiences are supported by the fact that normally when I come here it is not clean, trash cans are overflowing with garbage, supplies are minimal at the self service bar and the bathroom is nasty. Notice a trend here? The parking lot is good and there's lots of outdoor seating, but that's probably the highlights of this joint which is depressing. I might come back in a few months with the hope that something will change. In the meantime if I need a coffee fix I'll head over the Harris Teeter or Gateway location, which may be out of the way, but it's worth the trouble. *This business is NOT gun carry friendly. They don't have a sign or make it obvious, but the corporate side has stated that they "prefer" you not bring in your gun. read more
