Love the manager and about 75% of the team at this location. Wish the company's cold brew was as smooth as Stok extra bold or even Dutch Bros. Strongly recommend that Starbucks reconsider its cold brew offering. There is just more competition than when it first offered it. Increase in competition demands that Starbucks up its game! I have come to this Starbucks often for a studying in the past, and it has suited me well. There is a row of two-top tables lining one wall, which can be full at popular times, but are perfect for studying or getting some work done. This location is clean and well-kept; every time I am there I see the staff tidying up. They have never gotten my order wrong (though the last time they managed to misspell my name even though I scanned my member card). The staff are always friendly and cheerful. It is a popular location, so you may catch a line at times. If you order ahead, they have a little station where you can go and pick up your food and/drink. This is however more of a neighborhood Starbucks so it's not as exciting as the Uptown Park location or Club Starbucks on Westheimer and Post Oak, but it's cozy and you can get work done or have a conversation. One possible issue is that in the school year, there are a lot more High Schoolers here from the memorial area (I would guess) so there will be a lot of overhearing of super important High School problems that absolutely matter if you sit next to one. read more

I come here every other morning for the most part. I work at 6:00am so I stop by between 5:00-5:30am on days I have trouble waking myself up. Let's be honest, nobody wants to be awake and cheery that morning, let alone service customers. My favorite Starbucks in the Galleria area! Plenty of parking, spacious interior, tons of seating & great baristas! I've come in the morning, afternoon & evening and I can't think of one bad experience I've had here. They're all friendly, fast and helpful. In the mornings, it's common for there to be a long line, but it goes by very quickly. Tons of people mobile order, which, if you're in a hurry, I recommend you do so. Sometimes it seems like you'll get your order quicker if you had ordered through the app instead. Great space for meeting up with friends, stopping by or small meetings. I'm a huge fan of the Hearty Blueberry Oatmeal at Starbucks. And finally, for the first time in a long time, I had it perfectly here. Not too soggy. Not too sticky. Seeped perfectly, with just the right amount of excess hot water floating amidst the grains. Pair it with two packets of organic agave syrup and a small serving of dried fruits and nuts. The gentle crunch of texture and soothing scent of oatmeal in each bite... just heavenly. I know oatmeal is one of those things most can't justify paying for when you can make it cheaper at home. But something about this specific combination and the grab-and-go simplicity... that along with my morning White Chocolate Mocha makes me all about it. The blueberries, the nuts, the agave, everything. Take my money Starbucks! P.S. Try the "Medicine Ball" if you're feeling a little under the weather. I used to have an office nearby in Uptown, where I drafted the infamous N.W.A. replete honorific ROTD of Crave Cupcakes-Uptown with red velvet cake and creamy frosting coated fingers smearing colorful deliciousness all over the keyboard, so when I am on this side of town for businessy appearing things my first thought is that (a) awww, I miss being right near Crave and (b) my ex's father is some fancypants bigshot partner in a nearby law firm and he never liked me (and likely still does not) so awww Crave [heart/swoon] turns into ... let's leave and go back to the Heights before he starts cleaning his ridiculous Captain Crunch looking pistol on the dining room table again. Today I was stuck in the area, super thirsty, and not having many options finally came on in to this Starbucks. In the same shopping centre sits my least favorite Five Guys in the city and a Marble Slab I have never been to. Reasonably nearby on this desolate and barren stretch of San Felipe are a drug store for a can of soda or a Whataburger in front of the Fairmont San Felipe. The Smoothe King is way further down San Felipe, especially in heavy Uptown soccer mom SUV traffic. This Starbucks has tables outside and people using them since they are in the shade mostly. It also had an obnoxious couple smoking literally right next to the front door. It was annoying because I didn't have a beer in my hand - that kind of thing is inappropriate at a Starbucks that close to the entrance. That's how I feel, I wonder what a pregnant woman would think after she bridezilla ripped the couples' heads off and devoured their bite sized brains. Once inside and out of the cloud of smoke it is a big area, a large Starbucks, much larger than the one on Kirby just outside the Village (my resounding favie of all Daddy Starbuckses locations.) There were two ladies behind the counter. The one taking the order down and ringing me up was super jolly, polite, and nice. She even knew some regulars by name, which is rare, when I use the same fake name at the Starbucks on Buffalo Speedway across from Pei Wei and Buca di Beppo with the same workers over a period of months and they still don't know my order which is the same every time. Two drinks in front of me, I was not going to die of boredom while waiting but it did not seem as if the other appreciated how impatient I am - she was not working quick like she would if a masked bandido had a gun to her head and said that he really, really wanted a soy latte and he wanted it right now. I (recently) started visiting Starbucks again after year long breaks due to my 4 year employment... (you get sick of it after a while). Now that I'm back on my mermaid game, this Starbucks is the closest location to my home. It's a cafe only store (no drive-thru), but it's decent enough. This location is ALWAYS packed. I'm guessing because it's rather close to a sh*t ton of neighborhoods, so there's always dozens of people on the patio, chatting inside, or getting work done on their laptops. With that being said, the cafe is pretty large with plenty of seating (if you're looking for a place to sit). Service is good. Although it can get pretty packed inside, and their baristas can be a little slow keeping up the line. But so far, I have NEVER had a drink mistake here. Obviously the barista doesn't know the difference between a skinny vanilla latte. Was grabbing a drink to go and normally have to wait about 5 mIn to start drinking because of the temp. I was given a hot chocolate or something with freaking chocolate (I hate chocolate drinks) so I wasted almost $5. I was on a side of town for a service so I wasn't driving 12 miles to take it back. I needed a Starbucks close to an errand I was running, so I picked this one. I needed to be on a call from work, so I was dependent on their WiFi. Luckily, one Yelper pointed out that their WiFi is AWFUL, so I brought my own Verizon mifi just in case this was true, although I was hopeful. Everyone at the counter was nice, but apparently they discontinued their chamomile, and no one could really offer a solid substitute. I settled on a black tea and went to find a seat. The music in the place was SO loud. There was no way I could take my call inside. I don't know how anyone concentrates in there. Then, lo and behold, the internet didn't work at all. I could barely get onto Google. I moved my things outside and took out my MiFi that saved the day. Not a typical Starbucks experience here. The cashier is quiet pushy with getting me to spend the money. I ordered my drink and without waiting for me to tell him which size I want. He suggested the grande size (I was going for tall but reluctantly said sure). He then asked if I want to add more stuff to my drink. I said no. Then he asked "what about something to eat?" I said no and then he kept asking for what seems to be everything else on the menu. This is the first for me at Starbucks. This place makes me feel like checking out at target and having to say no to apply for a department credit card 5 different times. I only come here bc it's closer to my place, parking is easy, and I can easily find a seat here. I expect the drinks and the customer service to be the same since you know, they're part of the franchise. I was a little disappointed and taken back with my experience here today. read more
