I have been to countless Starbucks locations all across the country, and this was the first and only time I've had such a positive experience that I felt compelled to write a review about it. I almost drove to another location because I didn't know there was no drive-thru when I chose it from my gps, but there was a parking spot available out front, so I figured why not? I'm so grateful I did! Every single person in this cafe--and I call it that on purpose bc it felt so personable and warm that it transcended the chain restaurant vibe that usually comes with Starbucks--from customers to staff, was radiating kindness. All of the employees were so precious, especially the manager--I believe her name is Emily? This sounds silly, but I just felt so safe. She didn't know I was having a terrible day, but she sure helped to turn it around by her positive energy and amazing customer service. read more

I love going to this Starbucks! The staff are so nice and recognize a lot of people that come in. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes there and I have never had bad food or drinks from there. And even when the restaurant is super busy, the restaurant is still a pleasant place to be in. It's a nice Starbucks in a sense that orders are delivered quickly and efficiently. The staff is always friendly and wears masks. Food and drinks are about the same as in other Starbucks locations. You can also seat outside, but I noticed that tables outside are rarely cleaned if cleaned throughout the day at all. Hence, minus one star. Lots of parking on the back of the building, so it's easy to find a spot. read more

Okay.... so Starbucks is a Starbucks, is a Starbucks. This place isn't much different than any other location. Baristas are very friendly and are very helpful with any questions you might have. I love the standardization of Starbucks. Everything is the same no matter where you go. Starbucks has done a great job at that I'll say! They offer two bathrooms which is awesome, and are always clean whenever I've used them! The only downfall to this location is the lack of seating. For its central location I am surprised they didn't choose a larger store. Its often hard just to find a seat if you come alone, let alone if you come with a friend or two. Only time its not as difficult is if you visit in the warm seasons when you can take advantage of their outside seating. I do love the location of this store. Its close to home and is central, which makes meeting friends for coffee very easy. read more

I've always known about this location but didn't come here until a week or so ago. It's easily become one of my favorites. I mainly go to Starbucks since it's a good place to study. But because of where I live it can be hard to find one with free parking and enough seating. I love this one since there is always parking and it's FREE, which is huge. The dining room doesn't have a ton of seating but most people who come here get orders to go so you can pretty much always find a large table. While I don't have any problem reviewing "chain' establishments, with only an exception or two I don't tend to review places where you can pretty much expect the same thing from location to location. This is, for the most part, the truth with Starbucks. Starbucks is Starbucks, ya' know? If you don't like their coffee in one location, there's a pretty good chance you won't like it in another location and, of course, vice versa. Now then, you do get some variations in service and I do think those are worth mentioning. So, here I am. I was spending the evening at this corner of 56th & Illinois - dinner at Byrne's Grilled Pizza, a visit to Kids Ink, ice cream at Graeter's and, at the last minute, a stop at this Starbucks location for a shaken iced tea for the road. I mean, heck, even the fire station in this neighborhood is pretty good to look at. As has been noted, this location is located on the corner and it's in an older, fairly upscale neighborhood. While not all the buildings in this area are wheelchair friendly, Starbucks built a decent ramp into their place and despite it being an incredibly small location it's also pretty well laid out for a wheelchair. I was actually wheeling by Starbucks when an employee appeared at the door. As I haven't known them to be incredibly hard-sell with their coffee, it quickly became apparent he believed I was on the way in and because it was raining and a bit chilly he was there to make sure I got in alright. Great move, Starbucks. There's actually an entrance right on Illinois and an entrance on the 56th Street side. The Illinois Street entrance, while appearing to be the main entrance, isn't adjacent to the ordering side. It's not a huge deal, but worth noting. As I entered, another friendly employee poked gentle fun of my Gold Club card and the fact that I corrected myself when I referred to my drink as merely an "iced tea" and not a "shaken iced tea." She was like "I'd have known what you meant." I almost said "Yeah, well, I've heard Starbucks can be kind of militant about the whole drink name thing," but I decided to appreciate her friendly demeanor. My drink was prepared quickly and correctly. The same employee who'd opened the door on my way in opened it on the way out. While this isn't particularly rare for someone in a wheelchair, it still was a notch above on a night when it was raining. It was appreciated. As others have noted, the interior is small and I could see where it would easily fill up. This location is fairly close to Butler University, though I'd imagine Butler has their own options and I can think of 1-2 other Starbucks locations also close to Butler along with a Hubbard & Cravens. This place fits the neighborhood feel of this corner. They were warm, friendly and inviting and their interior reflects their upscale area because you do have some coffee options you may not find in the more urban settings. read more

Your typical corner coffee shop Starbucks...literally on a corner. It's quaint but there's nice seating outdoors during warmer months. I like sitting on the bar stools looking out the window. Parking is difficult because the lot behind it is shared w/ many other businesses and is a tight squeeze. If you're looking to just pop in and grab a drink, you'll have to search for a parking spot first. read more

The people that work in this location are friendly, and always seem to know my name, even without the mobile order. It just seems easy to come here because I enjoy consistency in my order! What can I say... It's Starbucks... We are all drones of this establishment and are all proud to be. As far as coffee, if you have ever been to any Starbucks the consistency is unreal. Whatever you order where ever will taste the exact same. I don't love the house coffee but speciality drinks are why I keep coming. My only complaint about this location is seating. It is extremely small and not a ton of room. If you are meeting with more than 2 people, you may not find a seat and if you do things are pretty crammed. What I do love is they have 2 bathrooms and both are unisex. That is a huge asset. I only come to this location if I really have too... But overall this location is pretty good. read more

I come to this Starbucks whenever I am visiting my daughter and we want to go for coffee. As my review of the Starbuck's on Broad Ripple says...I always order the same thing: A grande soy misto with 2 splenda. This Starbuck's typically charges me 50 cents more for the soy milk, which is fine...I guess...but since the other Starbuck's doesn't...doesn't it make sense that I will go to the other one since it is closer to my house...EVEN if I am heading over to my daughter's house nearby?? Seriously Starbuck's...50 cents for 6 oz of soy milk? At least they do remember to give me my cup discount since I always bring in my own mug. read more

Maybe it's because this Starbucks feels right at home nestled neatly on the boutique corridor of Illinois and 56th, maybe's it's because there's no drive-through or busy highway to deal with, or maybe it has that certain coffee shop feel that you get from the depths of a city neighborhood, instead of a strip-mall. Whatever it is, I like this version of Starbucks. It's pretty straight-forward; we all know what we get - tall, grande, venti, grip - frap, whip, skinny, sip. It's quality bean at a fair price, that's why we all go. So what does this leave me to review? Service, of course. These baristas are some of the friendliest around; every time I stop in, they are very welcoming and put me at ease from my chronic condition of running late for work - at least if I'm generalizing about myself... Parking can get a little crammed on this side of town. There's not much room behind the boutiques and there's limited curb-side spots. The only thing I wish was different about this Starbucks was its size. Let me tell you, the location is perfect. Just close enough to Butler's campus that you don't have to drive too far to study. But just far enough that you don't feel like you are on campus. However, I sometimes find it hard to be productive at this joint. It is usually pretty crowded- especially on Saturday morning. If you do find a table, this isn't the place where you can set out 5 books and all of your folders because table space is pretty limited. If they could expand this Starbs, it would be 5/5. As always, employees are friendly, coffee is hot, breakfast sandwiches are great. I'm a black coffee kinda gal, but if I'm looking for a treat I will tack on a warm chocolate chip cookie to my order. read more

Usually great, but the last few times I've been here the "closing manager" has been windex-ing things while 5+ people are waiting for drinks. One person is making them all, and the "closing manager" is causally walking around and talking at the one person making drinks. It took 16 minutes for me to get a hot tea. Cockroaches! Hello! I tell the staff at the counter every other time I order coffee at this location. After a Month, cockroaches! Maybe it's the old building or maybe it's all the homeless people that hang out in there. This is likely the last time I visit here until they advertise a remodel or put up a sign on the front doors reading, "No Homeless Welcome". It's a business not a shelter.
