I stopped by the Starbucks on San Jose Blvd in Mandarin this morning for a quick coffee fix. We decided to park next door, as the drive-thru line was wrapped around the building. Surprisingly, the inside was clean and not as crowded as I expected, which shows just how many people opt for the drive-thru. The barista at the counter was friendly, and despite being unfamiliar with Starbucks' menu, I went with a seasonal choice: the Pumpkin Cold Brew. After placing my order, I waited by the door for my name to be called. It took a little longer than expected since the team seemed heavily focused on fulfilling drive-thru orders. When I finally got my drink, I found it decent but lacking in pumpkin flavor, which might have been due to the extra cream they added. I've had their cold brew before, and while this one wasn't bad, the pumpkin taste was pretty subtle. Overall, the store had a nice vibe, and I could see my Mrs. Foot enjoying it more, as she's the coffee enthusiast in the family. They also had a good selection of merchandise and coffee beans available for brewing at home, which is always a nice touch. read more

Went through the drive-thru, this woman in the drive-thru rushed me to order and didn't let me finish, like what? She said she would modify my order as i got up to the window, got my drink and it wasn't fixed. It wanted a pretty normal iced white mocha with brown sugar and she gave it to me luke-warm with little ice, or any brown sugar in it. I walked in to get it fixed, workers where a little rude about it and refused to fix it. just gave me a cup of brown sugar flavor to add in, would've been fine with me if it didn't have cold foam on top. I woule give this place a 0 if possible. I have been doing virtual therapy sessions (I have ptsd from an abusive ex) here for months now. Today, I got told to leave if I didn't buy anything. First of all, I worked for Starbucks in 2007 and was taught abt Starbucks being a 'Third Place'. Given I share a home with 3 other adults, I have always had the requisite privacy at Starbucks I lack at home. Well today, some random guy interrupted my therapy session and told me I had to leave if I didn't but anything. First of all, it was obvious I was conversing with my therapist and this was the wrong time to interrupt me. The rando sbux worker has no clue the trauma I deal with on a daily basis. I explained I had already paid for a full session and would be losing money and inconveniencing my therapist if i cut my appointment short. The Starbucks worker clearly could care less. I asked if I could use the bathroom before leaving, and he said no. for the record, I do not have a car. I was waiting for a ride. I explained to the guy I'd buy something if Starbucks didn't support the IDF/IOF. One of the workers even agreed with me and gave me a fist pump. I explained I simply couldn't buy products when the proceeds are used to harm or kill the NATIVE Palestinians. Clearly the manager of this location is either brainwashed or cluesless about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He was totally out of place throwing me out when he admitted I was NOT causing a disturbance. He could have told me I was not welcomed back, but interrupting my session is totally uncalled for. He wouldn't even let me use the bathroom on the way out - I am a 35-year old woman! I will be telling me friends about my experience at this Starbucks, and I would appreciate a manager reach out to me directly. Never before have I had such a horrible experience in a restaurant/coffee shop/bar, and it seems like there's something pretty rotton with Sbux's culture. Starbucks is consistently a good source of my caffeine. Love getting a good cold Americano or chai latte tea. Staff seems to handle the pressure of an extremely busy location very well. But man, pulling off San Jose to get in their drive-thru line is always an accident waiting to happen because the line is so long it wraps around the store and blocks the entrance from the street. I am grateful they finally opened a store in south Mandarin, but it's a bear to navigate the parking lot most days. read more

I visit this Starbucks infrequently and I now remember why. First, there is a wonderful addition on the app that asks if you want to pick up inside or at the drive thru. That's where the greatness ends. My wife and I needed a caffeine jolt while were out running quick errands. One would think in the times of social media Starbucks would take the time to let their customers know that they are not open for inside service and only the drive thru would be operational. Then the cashier at the drive thru insinuated that we were attempting to steal a drink when I asked where my wife's tea. If we weren't in a hurry and if I wasn't a loyal Starbucks customer I would have been so disappointed in the service. I'm still rooting for them. read more

I really like this Starbucks, but the parking lot here is horrible; like other Starbucks stores I've visited. You would think that as much volume as the company's stores do that they would invest in a better parking lot at some of their stores; after all the work they put in the actual buildings. But I digress. This location has some of the friendliest staff and it's a very clean store selling all of my Starbucks favorites; coffee that is. Went there this evening for a cup of coffee. Upon arrival, I noted that the drive through line was wrapped around the building which forced me to park in the adjoining parking lot. The young man who took my order was courteous and professional. However, apparently they had to brew a new pot of coffee (not sure how a coffee shop runs out of fresh coffee - but okay) so a 5 minute stop turned into a 15 minute stop. This is a very popular and convenient Starbucks since it's on the main road with lots of traffic on both sides. I like that it's so close to home and on the way for me to many places in Mandarin. I usually like to pick up my drinks on the go and enjoy them while driving. Some of my favorite drinks are the Green tea and vanilla beans frappuccino. These two are my clean drinks since they're not overly sweet but are still filled with whole milk & enough sugar non-caffeinated (of course). I love getting these when I was pregnant and they are my hubby's favs as well. I also love getting the venti Ice coffee with whole milk & extra sugar. Althoug it's a simple drink but it is still enough to get that coffee boost in my system when my body craves it. Service here is mostly prompt and friendly. read more

The world knows that I love Starbucks coffee. That is without question. I do have a single negative about this particularly location though. Parking. Every time I park in front of this location I get stuck when I want to leave because the drive-through gets backed up and blocks the people that are parked. My tip would be to park at the shopping center next door and walk an extra 50 feet (A couple of extra burned calories would not hurt when you're headed to get a high calorie Starbucks drink). ;) or if you are not wanting to get out of your car, you can stick with the drive-through and be one of those cars that blocks in the people that are parked. Haha Interior. I love that there is a big table in the center that has charging ports. I often see people with their laptops doing work. Wine! This location offers wine! They have their beer and wine license, so this gives them a huge plus to other surrounding Starbucks locations! Overall, I give this Starbucks 4 stars. The negative being the major parking issue! Other than that, I love the interior. I love the location. I love the service. I love that it's a drive through. I love that they serve wine. Wine and coffee have my heart. I went to the drive through here on a Saturday morning to try a Peppermint Mocha- I had never had one before. Boy, was it good! I decided to go to this one vs the one on the other side of San Jose near Goodby's, because that parking lot is horrific! I was really happy with my choice- this parking lot wasn't great, but it was easy to get into the drive thru line, and it was surprisingly not too long for a Saturday morning around 9:30. The barista was REALLY friendly, and they even remembered to give me a pup cup for my dog, who I brought with me! He is accustomed to pep up as soon as he sees we are in a drive thru. My drink was fantastic, service was fast, and really friendly. Not sure I'll ever go to that other Starbucks again! read more

BEWARE FOR UPCHARGES/UPSALES WITHOUT BEING TOLD Came here because it was close to an appointment I had. Since they've been out of the guava for a while I decided to try something new. The girl at the drive thru who took my money was not the man that took my order. The man offered to make a different drink if the matcha was not good. For starters they automatically charged me for a VENTI when I wanted a grande. And they AUTOMATICALLY UPCHARGED me to coconut milk instead of the regular. The drink i expected to be around $4something came out to $6. No big deal because it was my fault for not noticing how they just tack on stuff without consent. Then I get to the window and am given the drink. I noticed it was a venti and I told the girl I had asked for a grande. I also told her I didn't really like the taste and I was expecting the man to come in and offer a different drink like he had said. Well the girl grabbed the drink from my hand, refunded me about 40 cents, and handed the drink back to me. She was not customer service friendly, and at that point I just wanted to get out of there because they made me feel uncomfortable and as if I was bothering them. There's other small coffee shops around, I think I'm going to just switch back to those, or at least a different one. But this is my last visit here and i order SBux at least 3x a week.... WOW. JUST WOW. I started coming here to study because my house is WAY to loud. It is pretty expensive so I started coming less, but they have an employee named Austin Guerrero, he is a freaking angel. I asked for a caramel latte but forgot to say hot, so they made me a cold one; completely my fault, and when I wasn't happy he was so chill about it! He even let me keep my drink. I now come here as often as I can because he treats everyone so kindly and always smiles. I don't feel like just another customer here. It's so homey and i love it. I have spent (don't judge me) over $400 here since I started coming back in January and honestly I wouldn't have even come at all if it wasn't for him. It happened at 2:00 in the afternoon and I see other people in line and in the parking lot. I love me some Starbucks! What I love more is how they accommodate working folks, like me. High tables and stools, with outlets all around and an environment that somehow makes you focus even more. I'm addicted to Starbucks. Just the fact that this one has a drive thru gets it bonus points with me. I LOVE my drink from here 95% of the time. That's super, but it could be higher for the price. Besides the amazing drive thru, every worker I have spoken with here has been friendly and happy to be there (at least it seems, which is what I want to see). Negatives would be the size of the location space itself. The lot is tiny and there isn't a lot of space for a line. Although, I've never had more than two cars in front of me, so they handle the flow pretty well. The last few times I've come here I have to repeat myself a few times until my order is "heard". I wouldn't mention, except that I've been coming here since it opened and I never had that problem until a week or two ago. I'm hoping that'll get worked out soon. :) read more

The employees that were working 8/17/22 in the morning, specifically 8:45am are the rudest and laziest I have ever seen. I placed a mobile order for inside pickup and when I arrived the Inside of the store was closed. The only reason I did the mobile order for inside pick up was because I was in a rush and did not have time to wait in a long drive-through line. I tried knocking on the door and showing them I had a mobile order instead of kindly handing me my coffee(that's been paid for) real quick or explaining anything to me they completely ignored me and shrugged their shoulders at me. Since I am getting absolutely no response from them I walk over to the drive-through window and ask for my coffee that is PAID FOR. The worker who I unfortunately forgot to get her name, yelled at me to get out of the window which I didn't want to be standing at in the first place, refused to hand me my coffee, refused to give me my money back, and said I could call the manager and handed me a sticky note with a phone number that DID NOT work. I come to thIS Starbucks on a regular basis and have never been treated as poorly as I was today. I've worked in the restaurant industry for many years and that was the worst customer service I've ever seen. I hope this gets to who it needs to and these people are put in their place. But more importantly make sure mobile orders are off if you aren't gonna have the inside of the store open. read more

I have never had a problem with lids before, but this Starbucks decided they weren't going to put the lids on properly and well me and my car are covered in coffee and extremely sticky. I went to take a sip and the lid slid off the cup and almost the entire cup of coffee spilled everywhere. Thank god it wasn't hot or I would have gone back to say something. I am a fan of Starbucks, but every time I go to this location there seems to be a problem like cold food, inedible food, and poor management. Safe to say I will not be returning to this Starbucks! I go here about 4 times a week. 5 stars because it opens at 5:30 a.m. Everyone is very friendly. I always feel welcomed here and I've only my been in the drive thru. Around lunch time it gets busy but the line moves quickly. One time my order got mixed up but they were able to fix it within 2 min. I was very impressed. They were also very understanding and calm about remaking it. I appreciated that. The only negative thing I have to say about this location is the parking lot. It's small and if you park to go In side you might have a hard time leaving right away. read more

Sometimes you just need a little extra boost to get you through the day! I stopped on the way to yet another appointment and the lot and drive through were packed!! We opted to go inside because there was no line and we were short on time. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato with extra caramel and vanilla bean frappuccino with raspberry syrup which tastes just like cotton candy! The store itself is gorgeous. There's a ton of seating and the interior is beautifully done. There's also a super cute outdoor area. I'm sure it was partially because they were so busy and I only saw three baristas but it was a bit dirty. The counters and condiments bar was very messy. The kids said the frappuccino tasted delicious. My caramel macchiato tasted burnt. They did get them out fairly quickly. The biggest issue was the nightmare of the parking lot. We got ready to leave but the line was so long doe drive through that we could not get out. We were actually late to our appointment because it took so long trying to get out of the parking lot. When it gets that busy it would be nice to have someone to help with traffic in the parking lot. read more

Staff was very friendly, made my coffee right (black with a little ice, but you'd be surprised how often that gets messed up) and the decor is top notch.
