Came here after the air force graduation ceremony and it was super crowded as expected since majority of the families seem to come here to have lunch and hangout. This starbucks is located in a little shopping center food court on the air force base. The line was extremely long, almost reaching the front entrance of the shopping center - waited about 20-25 mins which is longer than I would've expected, but when I got to the register, I realized why it was taking so long... the person taking orders wasn't even a starbucks employee - she was from Qdoba, which is the mexican restaurant next door in the food court; she was probably there to help out cause there weren't enough starbucks employees.. there were only 2 at the time. The lady taking orders was moving extremely slow and holding up the line, but it was understandable cause she doesn't normally work there. I don't know this location's circumstances, but they should definitely look into hiring more people or scheduling more staff to work during the days they know they're gonna be busy, like the days after graduation ceremonies. There was one sbux worker making the drinks who seemed to be the supervisor/manager on duty and then another one that was brewing coffee/restocking items, but she also left and took the trash out and took quite a while which didn't make sense... cause if there's a super long line of customers out the door, it definitely should NOT be a priority to take out the trash.. it can wait! Your priority should be helping out on the floor and getting the line of customers out ASAP. Being a starbucks employee myself, it was also frustrating to see the other 2 sbux workers not help out the cashier take orders/grab food items cause there was a time when the lady that was making drinks wasn't doing anything and just standing there cleaning, waiting for drinks to make.. like you can help take the customers' drink orders and then have the cashier ring them up afterwards! It just didn't seem like these employees cared about how long the customers waited in line and they had no sense of urgency whatsoever.. they're lucky they don't have a drive thru!!! Additionally, I ordered an iced soy vanilla latté and there were those little white soy milk curds at the bottom of my drink which is a sign that the soy milk has been left out unrefrigerated for too long... luckily it's not a big deal for me, but to others it would be. Overall this location definitely needs to work on their speed, efficiency, communication, team work... probably everything! But I will cut them some slack cause it was very busy and they were probably exhausted. read more

This Starbucks is awful. And only for one reason...the people making the drinks. They have a horrible attitude and act like anything you order is a hassle to make. More specifically Mike is there in the mornings and hates waiting on anyone. Doesn't speak and doesn't seem to take any pride in his job. I avoid this Starbucks and go to the other one at the mini mall because the ladies that work at that one make much better drinks and have a better attitude. read more

I've gotten coffee at this location a few times in the morning and the best part is the customer service. For being located on a base and having to put up with what they have to, and not being able to get tips (probably because of a contract with the gov), they really rock out their drinks with a smile. Mike, in particular always delivers stellar customer service and usually knows his regulars by name, as well as knowing the person. Awesome job- promote him above peers:) read more

This location is consistently a let down. The drinks are never prepared the same. I always order the same thing. Sometimes the flavor is too strong and other times too week. Service is a slower speed but there are usually long lines. I ordered a blueberry muffin this trip to share with my daughter. Being it was around 8am I expected a fresh muffin (since it wouldn't be sitting out all day) and if was dry which was a huge bummer. On top of my caramel ribbon swirl frap they didn't put the yummy crunchies they added some for of crystallized nutmeg seasoning mix, it was awful. read more

My main complaint with this location is that they are never staffed for peak hours. Lackland has pretty predictable busy times (graduation weekends). Without fail lines will be 15-20 people deep, trash overflowing and the same number of workers as are present during non peak times. read more

It's Starbucks... Tastes like every other Starbucks... If they make it the way you prefer it.. This location has terrible customer service and they give you attitude when you order more than one drink... Last time I went, had they guy working behind the register to make my wife's drink wrong and they both laughed out loud.. Filed a complaint with management and hopefully they no longer work there. They lost a more than few customers that day since everyone heard it as well.. Place does get packed every morning and they have a nice seating area.. Good luck with this location. read more

I'd like to say thanks to Belle for recommending new drinks for me and my family last week. This location was out of a lot of the stuff to make our normal drinks and she really went out of her way to help us and the drinks were great! However I'm also writing this review because I've been coming here more often and noticed managements horrible attitude towards customers and staff. Most times I see the people who I can only assume are management on the side on their phones and barking orders - sometimes leaving just one person to do all the orders and make all the drinks. Judging by other reviews, I can see this behavior is not new but it does need to change. For everyone who is not management, keep up the good work! read more

Overall, their drinks comes out pretty good. Their service is a little slow because they usually only have two people working the counter. It's a small installation, so I got it. I have some patience, so I don't mind waiting. My biggest complaint is...they never have cold brew!!! Got it, it takes 12 - 24 hours to make, I've come here early, mid day, later in the day. I was there on 14 Dec at 0910. It took 20 minutes to get my drink. There were only 2 girls working and some customers were being very specific with their multiple orders so I tried to be patient but when I ordered a peppermint mocha frap with a cream base instead of coffee and the girl made a vanilla frap with peppermint flavor I was mad. I took it because I had somewhere else to be and the girls were going slow to begin with. I also didn't want to delay the other customers who were waiting just as long as I did by asking them to remake it. This is a horrible store. This is the one of the two Starbucks on base and overall it is just okay. Depending on who is working, your drinks can either be made to perfection or just extremely bad. Also, depending on who is working, the staff can be very professional and helpful or just downright moody and rude. They run out of supplies and/or food often so don't be too surprised if you need to downsize your drinks or find alternatives to your favorite pastry or sandwich. As for lines, avoid this place on Thursday and Sunday at all costs. There will be a 30 minute wait minimum just for you to get to the counter to order. They aren't understaffed but it is weird that they always have at least 3 people on weekdays but on weekends there is only one opener. It doesn't seem like the management can get it right. It isn't worth not going to since starbucks is the only place to get coffee on base but don't expect great customer service. read more

Usually everything is great. However, this time I watched the barista frantically look for a lid. She "found" a lid on top of the machine. She looked twice at the inside and still put it on my cup. I removed it and sure enough there was some brown residue on the inside. By the way I had a vibrant green tea latte. I removed the lid and threw it away. In future maybe tell the patron you need to locate lids instead of putting a dirty lid on the cup. read more

Unfortunately this is the only location in San Antonio that the employees lack customer service and a sense of urgency. I frequent this location often since I work on base. The "manager" asks me to repeat my order at least 2-3x when I order my normal espresso doppio. He has never welcomed me or smiled. I know he is capable of this because on one occasion his friends came in and he held a long and happy conversation with them as I waited. The other associates are a little better than him in customer service but still struggle, I believe, due to lack of a true example. I believe as a customer of Starbucks we pay for excellent customer service and welcoming faces. Every week customers are visiting family from all over the country due to airforce graduation. What a great time to show what San Antonio is all about. I know they are not receiving the best service during their stay in our great city and that disappoints me. I am confident your corporation will turn this around and make mine and all other paying customers experience a much better one. read more

I've been here many times and usually their service is great and even through the lines they work well! I won't complain ever about long lines being that I work retail so I understand how hectic things can get when lines form and things are out your hand. One thing I do know and well is customer service and the way you handle it, no matter the type of day you are having, or how close to going home it is you're not to be rude to your customers or making jokes! I went in the other day with my husband and daughter, one of the baristas/cashier(never seen her before) was taking the order of a lady ahead of us and they lady was counting out her money, well the cashier looked so annoyed, rolling her eyes just ready to get it over with, they finished. Our turn came we ordered she was real in a hurry to get us done told my daughter they didn't make a drink she's had a few times before, ok fine she choose something else, at the end I realized she didn't give me everything so I ordered something else and she put in a drink wrong, she said I was wrong thats how it's called on the receipt assured me that it was correct so I said fine. Sure enough when our drinks were out the drink we ordered was wrong, I told her she was like oh sorry, but my husband said forget it I'll drink it. Then as they continued to make the rest of our order she was making remarks to the guy with her saying you know you're going to have to send me a pic of the menu so I can study how to make our drink so I can learn. Joking about it repeatedly about how she needed to learn the drink process ect. It took everything I had not to say something to her! It's not the drinks she needs to learn it's her attitude, maybe some customer service or some manners! Sorry so long! I to have bad days or things that bother me during work hours but we should never act upon them..... No one was rude to her at all! read more
