Berry scone and cafe au lait
    Maria O.

This place has plenty of parking so it's pretty accessible. I was warmly greeted and my questions were answered gracefully. The interior is decorated with origami cranes and Japanese art. I ordered a cafe au lait and a berry scone. The scone was baked perfectly and went well with my warm beverage.

Visited one coffee shop and now I'm debating moving to Los Osos. Yokoso is everything good about the small coastal town of Los Osos. This cafe is so cozy that I almost canceled my plans to soak in the neighborly vibes. I visited on a road trip up the coast of CA and grabbed a sweet pastry and an iced matcha latte with vanilla to-go. My only mistake was ordering a small. The drink was gone in minutes. I'd easily return and order this matcha by the gallon and I suggest you do the same.

Cortado with oat milk. Perfect. Can get with a matcha flavored Pocky (Japanese cookie stick). $5.50.

These are the sweetest, most welcoming people! The coffee drinks are top notch and the hang is good for socializing or working. I enjoyed a delicious ham and cheese croissant. Decor has a Japanese theme. WiFi is medium-good; had a few issues with a dropped signal. Pups welcome at outdoor tables. Seating is mostly tables with some soft seating in back. Will return!

Yokoso Coffee is again a wonderful place to go! They often add new pastries, including pies and cakes. I can't recommend their Matcha Cake enough. Balanced, light, fluffy, and a joy for my taste buds! And as always, the service is excellent, and Michael and his team are very kind-hearted.

    Ceremonial Matcha Latte.. simply delicious!

Great family ran coffee spot. Very cozy, clean. Opened not to long ago, and they run the place with love!!! You can feel it .. and taste it in their products . Soft music, the family are very inviting! Made us feel at home! Great matcha, great tea lemonade. Great drinks!!! Delicious pastries! Please give them a try... no reason to go to Starbucks!!

A new hidden gem! Great ambience and charming family-run business. The owners are friendly, and treat their customers like family. We will definitely visit their coffee shop when in Los Osos.

Cute coffee shop with a nice relaxing ambiance. Good coffee, I had the Cappuccino. Also enjoyed the pastries. Great friendly staff. Beautiful Japanese themed decorations. Love the place!

Seriously, look at the crumb on that scone. It just falls apart in all the right ways.

Stopped in for the first time this morning after driving past this little gem for months now. Needed a pick-me-up and decided on some place local. I arrived a few minutes after opening and I was immediately greeted by friendly staff. I was taken by the display of delectible and enticing pastries. I decided to go with the Cheddar, Bacon, and Chive Scone. The crumb on the scone is amazing and it melts in my mouth (I'm writing this as I am enjoying it). There is just enough chive that I get that sweet, garlicky flavor without it being too overpowering. And do I detect buttermilk? For a beverage I was initially going to go with an almond milk latte, but then I saw the Cafe Miel with cinnamon and honey. Just the right amount of cinnamon and honey and the espresso is so smooth. I should have asked which almond milk they use because it it so creamy. Great ambiance too. The sunrise hits the windows just perfect and bathes the already warm atmosphere in an even more uplifting light. There is amazing artwork on the walls as well as beautiful traditional Japanese robes and umbrellas. And doggos are allowed on the patio. Great food, friendly staff, comforting environment. Definitely coming back here to study one day.

The outdoor seating is under a beautiful tree with a fire pit and space heaters which feels very cozy, laidback, & can also be a great place to take someone for a date night. We had the salted edamame & vegetable tempura for appetizers, & shared the itchy dragon & firecracker rolls. I had the shoyu ramen with pork and shrimp tempura which was wonderful since it was a cool evening. Everything was amazing and the ramen was absolutely delicious! During dinner we were discussing booking a restaurant venue to celebrate their graduation & our server overheard us & told us they had a small banquet room. It was a no brainer, he gave us (Niko) the restaurant managers number & after speaking to him I booked their banquet room. We were a small party of twenty and I wanted to surprise my daughter & fiancé by decorating the place with some flowers, simple decor, & a cake. I was worried since I was arranging everything from 3 hours away, but Niko and the entire staff at Kuma made it easy. I would highly recommend booking them for any occasion the food, service, and staff are amazing!

Service was terrible, prices are OUTRAGEOUS for the quality, and the quality was just bad. Such a disappointment and embarrassment that this is the only sushi option in Los Osos. If a sushi restaurant doesn't want to do table service, the prices should reflect that. Dishes were never brought, the temperatures were strange, staff were indifferent, food doesn't taste good. This restaurant hasn't been good since they got rid of the poké. Maybe bring that back and things will be good again?...

The interior has an inviting decor, but seating is limited. There are also outdoor tables along the side the building. The Rock Shoyu Ramen had a good amount of noodles along with three good-sized pieces of pork belly (albeit a bit fatty), pickled fresno peppers & shallots, topped with green onion, an ajitama, umami-rich egg and a sheet of nori. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. The portion was generous and quite filling. Service was friendly, and our selections were delivered in short order from the kitchen.

I ordered the Morro Miso Ramen (without the egg to keep it vegan) and added extra tofu. The broth was rich and comforting, with roasted garlic, miso, and chili oil bringing a really nice depth of flavor. The pickled corn was sweet and Fresno peppers added a bright, tangy kick that kept every bite interesting, and I appreciated how thoughtfully layered the bowl was overall. BUT... let's talk tofu math for a second. The bowl normally comes with just one piece of tofu (about 3-3.5 inches), which already feels a little light for a ramen. Since I removed the egg, I added three more pieces for $4.25. Totally fine...except now I'm paying extra to replace something I didn't want in the first place. Meanwhile, my husband's poke bowl, about the same price was absolutely loaded with fish. I mean... I get it, but also... I don't get it. Why are those of us who don't eat animals always doing bonus round pricing just to get a balanced meal? All that said, the food itself was good. My husband loved his bowl so much he was ready to go back again the next day. Me? I was more in the mood to explore other spots around Morro Bay, mostly because I'm still side-eyeing that tofu situation.Delicious, but the protein upcharge logic is...a choice.

I thought quite a bit what Sushiya reminded me of and it gave me that college Japanese restaurant vibe and I think that's pretty accurate. It's not high end and after eating their food, that's what I got out of the experience. Firstly, place is big. Waitresses were friendly and nice. The sushi chefs at the sushi bar DO NOT say "Irasshaimase" when entering. We got as appetizer- spicy grilled edamame. 5 stars. Small portion but had a nice kick unique to what I've had. Unagi 2 piece ($7). 5 stars- no complaints. Maybe a thin cut was fine with me Super Dragon Roll ($10, normally $19.99) - was a cali crab meat plus shrimp tempura with unagi on top. 3 stars - I liked their sticky rice held the sushi together. Middle of the roll pieces had very little crab meat and shrimp compared to the ends of the sushi roll where the tail of the shrimp tempura ends. Not bad but very Ricky. Chicken teriyaki combo - 3.5 stars. Vegetable tempura had one shrimp, one onion roll, one yam but could be two. Decent but nothing special. The menu said charbroiled but I was expecting something else. It was chicken breast meat. And thin cut- sauce was nice and thinck but longer you eat, the sauce gets more thick and sticky. Not the best teriyaki Wife had the salmon teriyaki Overall, it was an okay place. Nothing wrong with the meal.
