Yokoso coffee is tucked away in a plaza in Los Osos. But what a great place this is for coffee. Locally roasted coffee brewed with intention. The cafe is beautiful and unique with its Japanese and coffee themed decor. The staff is friendly and patient. I ordered a flat white, a spinach danish, and what I can only describe as an orange frosted cinnamon roll (?). It was delicious. The roll was large enough for me and my wife to share. I hope to be a regular here whenever I'm in town. Definitely give this spot a try. read more

This place has plenty of parking so it's pretty accessible. I was warmly greeted and my questions were answered gracefully. The interior is decorated with origami cranes and Japanese art. We ordered the vanilla latte and matcha latte. The matcha was high quality and tasted what matcha should taste like. My husband enjoyed his vanilla latte. We also ordered the almond croissant and asked for it heated which made the filling overflow and the croissant a bit soggy since it was heated in the microwave. Not sure if it was in the microwave seconds too long, but next time we will not ask for the pastries to be heated. But the almond croissant was still tasty just very messy. Customer service was very friendly. read more

Visited one coffee shop and now I'm debating moving to Los Osos. Yokoso is everything good about the small coastal town of Los Osos. This cafe is so cozy that I almost canceled my plans to soak in the neighborly vibes. I visited on a road trip up the coast of CA and grabbed a sweet pastry and an iced matcha latte with vanilla to-go. My only mistake was ordering a small. The drink was gone in minutes. I'd easily return and order this matcha by the gallon and I suggest you do the same. read more

A bright and clean little coffee shop. The ambiance is cute but definitely leans religious. The mugs and plates are adorable which are a lovely touch. The coffee was great, really really enjoyed it. Strong, flavorful, and delicious. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that they had no vegan (or even dairy free) baked goods. That's always a bummer, especially if you want to go in the morning and sit for a little while. Hopefully they will get some vegan treats soon! read more

Yokoso is an absolute gem in the heart of coastal teeny tiny town of Los Osos. It's a cozy m family-run shop and you can feel that warmth the moment you walk in. The customer service is truly off the charts. They greet you like you matter and the whole place has this welcoming neighborly energy that makes you want to linger. The coffee is excellent and consistently so. Every cup comes with the most adorable latte art that somehow makes a great drink feel even more special. And the almond croissants deserve their own paragraph. Scratch that, their own review. They are quite simply the best thing on this side of heaven. Perfectly flaky buttery layers with that rich almond filling that somehow manages to be indulgent without being heavy. If you go to Yokoso and don't order one you are missing the crown jewel. Though other pastries looked delicious too. Places like this are why small town coffee shops are unbeatable. Incredible coffee, genuine kindness and pastries worth driving across town for. I'm a bit of a coffee snob. My wife is a barista. We met at a coffee shop. We stayed on a coffee farm in Costa Rica for our honeymoon. It's safe to say that we obsess over coffee. On a recent trip up the coast we happened upon Yokoso. 5 star reviews across the board. We still went in a little skeptical. How could the coffee be that good? I went on a Saturday morning and there was a line and a jam packed seating area. The gentleman taking orders was super friendly and thanked me for my patience. I ordered two black medium roast drip coffees. It's honestly our favorite way to drink coffee and test a new coffee shop. If they care about their drip coffee, chances are high they take everything seriously. There were two roast options, a medium and a dark roast, served in pump carafes. Because it was so busy, it seems like they hadn't had time to brew up more batch brew. They had just enough for one medium roast and one cup of half medium/half dark roast. They offered to brew up more if I wanted to wait. I opted for the medium and half/half cup. Again, fairly skeptical that this was going to be a 5 star experience. Mixing roasts?!! Haha Well, it was honestly delicious. They clearly know their brew times and ratios because it was delicious. Balanced, rounded, a little nutty, with a hint of smoke. So delicious on its own but would have held up with milk. Please go to this place. Please support these coffee magicians, brewing up tasty beverages and making even a mixed roast batch brew one of the most memorable cups I've had in a while. read more

Fabulous family run local favorite!! Not only is the ambiance wonderful, the drinks and food are amazing. All the employees alongside the owners and their daughter make you feel like family. They are a valuable asset to Los Osos as well as Morro Bay which I drive from to get here. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating for your pooches. We went on our first family vacation and stayed in Los osos for the first time! Drove up from San Diego! We had such a great experience! This is a family owned coffee shop and everyone in there was so kind! The coffee shop was super clean, the art on the walls was awesome and the pastries are the best pastries I've ever had. Stopped in for the first time this morning after driving past this little gem for months now. Needed a pick-me-up and decided on some place local. I arrived a few minutes after opening and I was immediately greeted by friendly staff. I was taken by the display of delectible and enticing pastries. I decided to go with the Cheddar, Bacon, and Chive Scone. The crumb on the scone is amazing and it melts in my mouth (I'm writing this as I am enjoying it). There is just enough chive that I get that sweet, garlicky flavor without it being too overpowering. And do I detect buttermilk? For a beverage I was initially going to go with an almond milk latte, but then I saw the Cafe Miel with cinnamon and honey. Just the right amount of cinnamon and honey and the espresso is so smooth. I should have asked which almond milk they use because it it so creamy. Great ambiance too. The sunrise hits the windows just perfect and bathes the already warm atmosphere in an even more uplifting light. There is amazing artwork on the walls as well as beautiful traditional Japanese robes and umbrellas. And doggos are allowed on the patio. Great food, friendly staff, comforting environment. Definitely coming back here to study one day. read more

I am excited for this place. The family is so nice and welcoming. Great pastries, we got the egg bacon and chive scone as well as a raspberry tart(I think). Both were delicious. We LOVE you guys, but our problem is that we have to be Gluten free and you always only have the same muffin all the time. Excellent spot. The ambiance is very nice and cozy and would be perfect for studying or reading/working. The family who owns it is so so sweet and very kind. The food was EXCELLENT and the matcha was prepared in the traditional manner with ceremonial grade matcha. The price was very reasonable (I paid less than $20 for a large drink, a quiche and a sweet pastry). Should Have Known Better…read more.... I've been to the Nautical Bean on Los Osos Valley Road a few times since my review in March 2026 and each visit earned 4 or 5 stars. Not bad! But I went back on Monday, June 8th and had a very different experience. I ordered 2 small cups of hot chai with extra foam, extra hot and 1/2 sweet. When they were done, both were "heavy" meaning they felt like there was no foam. I checked and yup...no foam. I mentioned it to the barista who said "no problem. I'll do them over". They were done quickly, but still felt "heavy". I didn't want to go back and figured "it's just me". I got into my car and tried one. It was 90% the same as before. She simply scraped a sliver of the drink off the top and added a touch of foam. Plus...the liquid was "thin" meaning she nearly scalded the drink to get it hot. The 2nd chai was the same way. And the shop wasn't even busy at the time. Everyone at the Nautical Bean is friendly and the vibe is great, but next time I'll take my own advice...even if that means going back to the barista twice to get things right.
