No sweet cream for the cold brew. Makes that drink tough. Had to resort to half and half. I also believe the barista pulled an all bigger last night. He literally could not get the order correct nor repeat it back. It is what it is. It's a Starbucks and the menu is the menu.

Starbucks and Malibu? Two of my favorite things. I was able to stop by here as I was in PCH to see the sunrise before I go to work. I didn't know this Starbucks was also where the Blue Bottle & Trader Joe's was located! This location is rather small and they also do not have a drive-thru. I was ordering for take-out anyways and I ordered via the app. It was really early in the morning so there wasn't anyone else in the location besides me -- my drink was already ready by the time I arrived which was super convenient. The baristas were super kind and they definitely had the "SoCal chill" vibe despite it being so early in the morning. I was able to get my coffee and breakfast sandwich and have a great start to my day!

Wow! Hats off to this hardworking Starbucks crew! It is Saturday, May 14 at five in the evening, Starbucks is packed, and this crew is cranking. They are like drink-making machines. And they're staying really polite and friendly under tremendous pressure, too. Go, Cross Creek Starbucks team by Malibu Country Mart!

Wrapping up in Malibu and a little bit of a drive ahead of us, we took the opportunity to get online and place some orders ahead of time (not sure how busy they were). Finished up shopping at the store we were at and headed into Starbucks. They were actually kind of crowded (in my mind) for approx 3:00 in the afternoon. Service was friendly and they let us add on to our order (my wife found something she wanted to get for a friend). Prices are the same as any other Starbucks I've been to .... by the way, if you've ever read one of my reviews you know I didn't get coffee .... rolled with a steamer though, and they made it perfect! We probably won't be through here often, but if we are ever vacationing in this area again we wouldn't hesitate to come back and get drinks at this location again.

Due to the local ordinance, all stores in Malibu are required to use paper straws rather than plastic. Unfortunately, the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino was formulated for plastic straws. As such, the drink does not taste as intended. There is a definite paper aftertaste. The store should consider using the lids designed for cold brew beverages to eliminate the aftertaste.

Super busy store st the Malibu Village. One of my favorite stops when in the area. I love getting a cup of iced coffee or hot mocha and just walk around the village. Most of the time there is a long line specially in the summer. No public bathroom at this store but there is one across the street in the village. The employees are somewhat rude at this location, so far over the last few years I haven't been helped by a friendly one, seems like they are always grouchy and maybe it's because they are super busy and understaffed all the time. I'll update my review if I ever get a good service here.

They do not pay attention to online orders. They don't check their system until you ask for it.

Stopped here on a road trip to get drinks, food, and to use the restroom. There are no bathrooms onsite and my drink didn't taste good.

I wasn't even aware they closed at 1:00 PM, but regardless, closing the doors before the posted time is unacceptable. There were at least 3-4 other cars and multiple people standing outside, clearly hoping they would still be let in. People drive 10-20 minutes to come here, only to find the store closed early. I'm not local, but I've visited this location a few times when I've been in the area. The local customers standing there were visibly disappointed. This is a very effective way to lose customers. The real issue is not just the hours -- it's the lack of care. Closing at 12:57 and then, when questioned, telling customers it was already 1:00 PM feels dishonest and dismissive. The employee's name was something like Manuel Arbitara, as far as I can remember. I would encourage the owners to review the camera footage and properly train their staff on customer service and professionalism. A secondary issue is the store hours themselves. Closing at 1:00 PM on weekdays may make sense if your customer base starts their day early, but weekend mornings are different -- people tend to get out later. Closing that early on weekends seems out of touch with customer behavior. And finally, the lack of alternatives in the area may be part of the problem. Competition tends to improve service. A good coffee shop nearby might encourage a more customer-focused attitude. We need a Verve Coffee in the area to show how it's done.

Today, it was Pura Vida in Malibu, located in the same commercial plaza as Madhappy / Pantry, Frankies Bikinis, Be Kind Studios (pilates), and a soon-to-be Wally's. I really liked Pura Vida because of it's "health and wellness" angle. In re-reviewing the menus here, I noticed several items that were over 1,000 calories - not quite as health-conscious as I remember, but I knew it had to be just as delicious. Thankfully, I was right. I had the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl which comes with a generous helping of avocado, cucumber, arugula, green onions / scallions, radish, spicy mayo, cilantro rice, and raw tuna. For about $35 with tax and tip, this was a rather hearty lunch that two people could easily share. I didn't mix it, as I prefer to eat ingredients separately, and received a soy ginger sauce on the side to complement the flavors. My friend opted for the Spicy Salmon Wrap, made with a specifically gluten-free wrap. That option comes with cooked salmon (which she found to be dry), edamame, carrots, avocado, and cilantro rice - as well as a side of fruit and the same soy ginger dressing/sauce I had. She wasn't wow'ed by the flavor, which may be because of the wrap, or the gluten-free nature of the preparation, or the salmon itself. The exterior patio seating is new, fun, and reminds me a bit of the La La Land coffee shop in Calabasas. Gorgeous place to have brunch or lunch outdoors and soak in some Malibu overcast. Service was efficient, personable, and polite. Plenty of staff to handle the crowd on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out quickly and tables were bussed in a timely manner. Free parking is available in the back lot, or else in the underground garage. There's also valet parking for $8 (all-day) toward the front.
