I went to Peet's four times this past week because of an early work gig that had me leaving Santa Monica before 6:30am each morning. While I am grateful Peet's is actually open at that hour, I couldn't help but notice that the quality of their drinks seems to really have gone downhill. This was true all week but the kicker was that today I was given a latte that has no espresso in it, just foamed milk. And don't realize until I was almost at PCH and couldn't turn back because of time (I called and they refunded my purchase). Moral of the story - if possible, go somewhere else. If it's early and this is your only option, check your drink before you leave!!!! read more

Had such a great experience here! I love Peet's, especially their warm food, I tried their new sandwich it was so delicious, along with a mocha frappe. It was my late afternoon caffeine break and this coffee house was nearby. I ordered an iced mocha and it came out just right without being overly sweetened. They offer seating inside and it's reasonably spacious. Montana is a very cool hip area to hang out at and walk along it's pleasant streets. read more

I can't say enough good things about this Peet's -- and they saved me from having to search around for a new coffee shop after Starcrooks let me down after all these years. I first want to say that the people that work here are the absolute Best! They are so nice, helpful, and go the extra yard to make sure you are taken care of. Add onto to that great coffee loaded with caffeine, a happening atmosphere in the middle of Montana=giant success. Not to mention great coffee cups with the truck lid! They gave me a free one when I walked in the 1st time with a coffee cup from 10-Speed that had no stopper and the coffee was splashing out. It's been here for years, but I only recently stepped inside when my former favorite location of Starcrooks on 26th and San Vicente installed automatic coffee makers and the coffee is now S. Followed up by the Starcrooks on Montana also installing the automatic machines. It's no wonder that this Peet's business spiked over the last month with new customers--refugees from Starcrooks. Let me tell you how strong the black coffee is here: One cup keeps me me up for 3 days! (Drinking 1/3 every morning.) So if you are tired of the new bad coffee at Starcrooks or anywhere else--or bad service anywhere--come on over to Peet's and let them treat you right. Just one caveat--if you are one of the coffee shop rats that likes to bring your computer and sit at a table inside all day--better get here early especially on the weekend. They should probably rent those tables for $5 an hour. read more

I almost feel bad giving a 3 star rating because the staff here is absolutely fantastic, quick, and genuinely nice, but unfortunately the food and drinks at Starbucks are much better in my opinion. I still come here pretty regularly though because it's only a block away from my work and it's good enough to satisfy me. Peet's has a nice ambience with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a big parking lot, so a lot of people come here to work remotely. I am a huge fan of the Peet's. Last month I might have spent close to $200 on the drinks alone. I love the vibe at Pete's Coffee in Brentwood, right off Montana Avenue - it's always buzzing with interesting people. But honestly, their coffee just doesn't do it for me. Every time I've ordered a latte or cappuccino, it's been too bitter for my taste, unlike the consistently good ones I get at their Westwood location. I usually end up switching to hot chocolate, which is hard to get wrong. Not sure if it's the beans or the baristas, but something's definitely different here. Great for a hangout, but I'll be getting my coffee fix elsewhere. read more

This is one of the biggest Petes Coffee places i have ever gone to. I had been here once a long long time ago. They have nice comfort seats and nice outdoor view of the city. Me and my work crew were at a business meeting here. Lots of people meet here in a business setting. The bagels and cream cheese are good here. I ordered a tall coffee and bagel/ Service was good. Disclaimer: This is not a critique of the staff at this location. They might be great people and run a highly effective shop. Unfortunately, I am giving 1 star because I was at this location the other day and decided to leave and find another coffee shop to support instead. The reason is because I no longer support businesses that charge people for trying to be humane. We know that excessively harvesting food products from livestock leads to widespread animal abuse and environmental damage. Peet's is still charging people for using oat/soy/almond milk instead or regular milk. Given how accessible alternative milk is now, there is no excuse for punishing people who want a more humane and environmentally friendly food production industry, and making us subsidize the drinks for other people. On top of this, many people are lactose intolerant and are being charged extra because they have a physical condition that prohibits them from consuming dairy. Please consider changing this policy to reduce suffering of the planet and in the world. Thank you. read more

I was able to: - place my order via my Peet's app - make a contactless payment via app - get convenient and free parking in their lot (much appreciated in this neighborhood) Social distancing was enforced using 6 ft markers, plexiglass in place, masks worn and enforced. My go to spot to meet friends and chat. I usually sit outside but many times all the seats are taken. The inside has seats too but not as cool as being outside, relaxing, chatting and people watching. Residential free parking available. If you have a dog, you're better off just ordering ahead and then walking in to pick up your coffee. There's a sign that says no pets allowed in, but this is Santa Monica, every single person has a dog. Even though there's hundreds of dogs in here every single day in and out all the time. But the lady's attitude behind the front desk, she some woman I'm not sure her name, but she has an attitude any time a dog barks at all. That's what dogs do and everyone's literally in here for three minutes or less. Just trying to get their coffee. And she's the only worker who gives a care at all. Personally, I don't like anyone giving me attitude right in the morning before 8 AM when I'm just trying to get my coffee. As soon as she told me to leave and wait outside for my coffee, which I'm not sure who would've taken it out to me because everyone was so busy, three more dogs walked in, and she didn't tell them anything. After getting done with business nearby, I was in need of a good cup of joe. I was in the mood for Peet's Havana Cappuccino, and consulted my Yelp app for the nearest Peet's. This place popped up, so I made my way here. I parked in the rear of the building, which has free parking up to an hour with validation. I found a parking spot with no problem, and walked around the building to the front entrance. This place was packed and very busy that morning. Apparently this is where all the other independent contractors hang out and work on their laptops, as it was a weekday morning. The crowd here was comprised of friendly locals, and the staff here was just as nice. Fortunately, there was not line. I ordered my drink, and I received in in less than five minutes. I made a short pit stop, in which I found their restroom to be as clean as the rest of the store. If you're planning on posting here, you might find it hard to find seating as it gets busy often. But either way, this is a great coffee stop in the Santa Monica area. read more

I am a loyal customer to Peets for as long as I can remember. However, Today I came in for an ongoing promotion for a free upgrade on Wednesdays for the month that is advertised on the Peets website. I made a special trip in the morning because of the fun promotion. But going to Peets was anything but fun. The manager of the store did not know about the promotion even though this location pops up as a participating store. She was argumentative an said she "would honor it this time"as if she was doing me a favor. It is just a promotion valued a $.65 cents! When I left the store, and looked inside my cup, my cup was only 2/3 filled, as if to not honor the promotion as she promised. I called the store upon my dismay and she said to come back and that they would fill the cup !/3 more. Really? After all the inconvenience and unpleasantry!!! This place needs new Management that is educated on the promotions of the store and values loyal customers!! What a horrible way to start the day!!!! read more
