I find this problem at several locations, the computer people sit for HOURS, they do not eat or drink and take up table space from those of us who want to eat in the location. I have photos of people with the computers bringing FOOD FROM OTHER VENDORS and eating while doing their work, this has got to stop!! Worst service in a coffee shop ever. Coffee maker (won't call her a barista) was surly and no one could understand her with her mask on (although I approve of masks). She got one my drink sizes wrong and when I asked her about, she said "that's what you ordered" (I didn't bother showing her the receipt, not worth the effort). 20 minutes later I checked on my food order and one was there, not the other. I asked about the other and she said "the other was here, I called it" (which I doubt since I was right there, but she was completely muffled, so maybe). When I pointed out the obvious, that it was not here now, she said someone must have taken it, as if that was my fault. They did give me my additional item, but there was no apology. I literally pulled my mask away from my face for 5 seconds because it was loud inside and the guy behind the what looked like a thick glass couldn't hear me what I was ordering. We were both masked and behind a wall so I said screw it and pulled my masked down to tell him what I wanted. He finally heard me when I said with my mask down. Then some old lady with red hair who worked there told me to put my mask on. I told her he couldn't hear me.. she said "it doesn't matter. Put it on." And they forgot about my drink too. Also, there are only a few parking spots on the street outside (on the meters). You can't park on the street without a permit. I am not sure who designed this store but it is small and narrow. The counter space takes up most of the space inside the store and tables are placed along the narrow counter area which makes it more cramped. They do have a nice patio area where you can sit and enjoy your drinks. However, it is in front of Office Depot so you see a lot of foot traffic going and coming from the store. Also, you encounter some sketchy people. It's not a very safe place to study. Service is kind of lacking at this location. The barista that was making my drink walked away while my drink was blending to talk to her coworker. She came back two minutes later to finish my drink. I come here a lot during my week in the mornings , sometimes as late as 12 in the afternoon . I'm not sure what the issue is, but every time I come, ; a worker has such a horrible attitude and I see them with other people as well, but not with some specific white people that's fersure ! Not sure if it's a race thing but it's pretty clear to me. These workers are always in a bad mood and always are so irritated it's ugly . I understand a job especially coffe place cannot be perfect but when someone is having a great day and someone is just treating them poorly their energy rubs off to the customers day .l if you are not happy take some time and find yourself again, don't ruin somebody else's happy day . This is the smallest, most narrow Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf I have ever been to. When I walked in, it wasn't crowded so I was feeling okay. However, while I was waiting for my drink the crowd picked up, and I gradually went from feeling anxious, to stressed out, to very irritated. You seriously can't turn around in this place. I don't even want to imagine what the morning rush looks like in here. It does't help that the customer service is a bit lacking here. On this day, I wanted a non caffeinated drink, and needed some help (hey, I only deal with the strong, caffeinated drinks...the good stuff), but the Barista was not very helpful or engaged, he didn't have any suggestions other than a decaf iced "vanilla" coffee, and wasn't too familiar with any decaf tea options. (Mind you, I recently went to another Coffee Bean and they proudly made me a decaf English Breakfast Latte.) The barista making the drinks was very slow...and I recall the other guy, having to explain to him in detail how to make a drink, as there seemed to be a couple of issues with people asking him questions about their drinks being made correctly (myself included). Anyway, I think this location is best suited for people who live in the neighborhood and have time to take a leisurely stroll to their local Coffee Bean (wait an indefinite amount of time for their drink), and take a leisurely stroll back to their place with drink in hand, because there is no inside seating, and I'm sure the limited patio seating fills up fast (there was no place to sit at all when I visited). I love Coffee Bean... much more than that other chain who shall remain nameless. This location is the closest to where I live, and on the way to work each day. But the service is always MEH, at best. Inconsistent production is the biggest problem. Some times the ice blended comes out great, and sometimes not so much. A few times it was almost undrinkable. I usually go to the one on Beverly Drive now, even though parking is a pain there... but at least they seem to always make good quality drinks. read more
