I stopped at this location for my afternoon coffee because I was a little too early to go to the ferry station at horseshoe bay. Made a simple order and got reliably good tasting coffee and a table to hangout and catch up on some work. The service was fast and efficient. So I had my first bad experience at a Starbucks. This is the location on Marine Drive in North Vancouver in the same plaza as the Savon foods. I ordered a no fat Latte and an oat fudge bar. I even asked the young lady at the tail if they had any "oat fudge bars" she picked around the corner and said yes. So, after paying for my order, I went to the other side of the bar to await my oak fudge, bar, and coffee. When the coffee was ready, I indicated to the barista that I was still waiting for oat fudge bar. Without even looking up, she waved her hands towards the tail as if to say "not my department." I waited about 10 seconds, and then repeated myself and a young man merely said we don't serve those and walked away. Feeling my temperature rising, return to the 'til, and again expressed that I have not yet received my oat fudge bar. This time the young man who initially walked away from me, looked at me with an expression that screamed "I don't care, I get paid whether you're happy or not". He told me again "we don't serve those. Do you want your money back?" Honestly... I usually get great service from every Starbucks I've ever walked into. I ordered a chocolate loaf and a cinnamon coffee cake through the app today. When I arrived they had informed me that they did not have the chocolate loaf, and instead would replace it with a banana bread loaf. They did not offer to refund my Starbucks card for not having the chocolate loaf. As a result I was forced to take the banana loaf. I'm a bit disappointed in the customer service I received today with this situation. However, I do enjoy their coffee cake as it's one of the places that make it. I was also surprised to see the work that they've put in for physical distancing with the arrows on the ground, and the squares on the ground on where to stand. I'm happy that they have this in place as not many coffee places do the same. read more

This is hands down my Fav Starbucks, There are 3-4 staff members that stand out and are super nice and always go above and beyond, my daughter loves her daily "coffee shop visits" and smiles whenever we enter. I really liked this particular Starbucks. I've passed it many times, as it fronts Marine Drive in North Vancouver, and it opens super early (at 5:15am, I believe), and there are tons of windows facing the street, so it feels open and spacious due to all the natural light filtering in. Also, with all the window walls, it's a great place to people-watch! I like how it's located at the southern end of the Pemberton Mall, so you have a big parking lot there to park in. (Note: there's a large Save-On food store here, so it'd be easy to pick up one's groceries here, too). There's a cute, little seating niche separated from the main open space, in the northwest corner of the Starbucks, with plusher, oversize chairs. What I liked most about this place is how, when a lady customer at the counter was taking an undue amount of time to place her order (or perhaps there was an issue with her order, or she was returning something. I don't know the details other than the fact that she was holding up the line), a few employees stepped in and started to ask those of us waiting in line what drinks they could get started for us. This really helped the line move along more efficiently. Also, not many places make my preferred drink just right. Starbucks are all supposed to be consistent in their drinks but they aren't (and my preferred drink is not a conventional one). I never complain but I definitely notice the differences. Anyhow, this Starbucks made my drink perfectly. Super good. Clean, bright and light site with efficient counter-staff and great barristers, and extended hours. What more could one want? read more

I've been to worse Starbucks and I've been to better ones as well. This one just so happens to find itself in the middle. The staff I encountered were awesome and made my drink to absolute perfection. I even was able to grab the new chicken protein box which was delightful. I hadn't seen it in any other Starbucks before that point. My only issue is that there didn't seem to be outlets for charging computers or anything (my phone actually died & I was unable to plug it in) so I wouldn't want to come here to work. Also, the bathrooms had an odor but it didn't permeate​ into the "dining room" and they were dimly lit... a sharp contrast from other cafes in the area. read more

As I was standing in line (about 3rd place, with maybe 5 people behind me) I was triggered by what I experienced. The barista on register was a tad slow, causing the bar person to stand around idly with no drinks to make. They came around and started to help the register person, getting the next drink started for the next customer, when the register person snapped in a passive aggressive tone "That's not your job, I don't need your help!" sending them back to standing around at the bar. I used to work at a cafe, so seeing this was embarrassing. Not only for the bar person but the customers witnessing it. The register person was clearly in need of assistance, but instead disciplined her co-worker. Everyone was uncomfortable after that. Maybe teach your staff to handle situations like that better? What a cruddy environment to have to work in. read more

It's a Starbucks so let me focus on what is different and good about this one. I find the staff at this location are all very welcoming and attentive. They get to know their regulars and go out of their way to make sure your needs are met first. Example, there was no more cream and I am normally waiting around for a few mins trying to get someone's attention, they immediately stopped what they were doing and brought me a fresh cream. It's slightly bigger than most Starbucks, and lots of outside seating. There is no comfy seating like couches or big chairs and caters more to moms with kids so if you are looking for some peace and quiet, you are probably not going to get that in the mornings. It's a very busy store. read more

This is actually located inside Pemberton Plaza beside the Van City. It is close to the North Van gym. Ample seating, always busy but staff is incredibly friendly. Layout is a bit odd, therefore, you're always bumping into things and people. read more
