I decided to eat my breakfast and drink my coffee inside of Starbucks the other morning. I ordered a venti iced caramel macchiato with an extra shot and an order of egg bites. I was took my first bite and the rest of my egg bites went flying across the floor. I picked up the flown bites of egg and put it into the trash, walked up to the counter to place another order because I really wanted those egg bites. The cashier took my order when another barista said something under her breath to the cashier. The cashier looked at me and said "there will be no charge for your order". I thanked her and looked at the barista who spoke to the cashier. I said, you saw what happened??? She confirmed she witnessed my flying eggs with a simple look, I l laughed, she laughed & I thanked her for her kindness. Gravity happened. I never expected Starbucks to cover the cost of gravity and I sure didn't go up to the counter and tell them my flying egg story. I never expected anything for free. What the barista did was go beyond the extra mile for someone who didn't make a fuss. It was the nicest act of kindness I experienced that day and the reason why I decided to start yelping. I cannot have dairy or added sugar. Since all Starbucks non-dairy milks contain added sugar, I asked if they could make an iced matcha with no milk added. I was very clear that I understood it would just be matcha over ice and that I planned to add my own milk at home. The barista told me they could not sell just the amount of matcha powder. I explained that this was for dietary reasons and that I was willing to pay full price, as if the drink were being made with milk. She still refused ... I've done this at other Starbucks locations without any issue, and they have been happy to accommodate my dietary needs. On top of that, the other drink in my order was made incorrectly and was cold. I ordered a simple grande hot coffee with cream and one sugar, but received a cold drink with cream and one Splenda. Not super friendly here but it's a good location. My americano was fine but for me when I do head to SB's, it usually to do some work. The lack out outlets and work space really stinks. I know this location has been here awhile but I do wish they would re gut the inside, work their magic and provide more tables and for sure more outlets. The bathroom was clean but the tables, not so much. Mind you it was 6:30p at night so they were well staffed that they could've had someone cleaning, sweeping the floors and wiping down the tables. I don't know if it's because it was Mother's Day that I visited or if it is actually the worst Starbucks ever. I watched them literally throw away 3 drinks during the time that I waited. I ordered an iced white tea with peach infusion and as I walked to the car and tasted my drink I could taste that there was lemonade inside which I did not order. Unfortunately I kept the incorrect drink because returning to that place was the last thing I wanted to do. I could not believe that Starbucks in my hometown serves purely brewed Guatemala coffee with a strong after taste. And I like it! First time entering one, and I guarantee it won't be last. There I was, standing at their door full of curiosity about how Starbucks is known for having such a unique coffee experience. At first, I am a huge critic why buy some expensive coffee while I can make my own in my home, but after having a brewed and roasted coffee. My mind directly agrees, they got the best coffee. I have tried 7-eleven before, but the taste is far more superior to what they serve. The morning routine is much more enjoyable with Starbucks. Now, I can enjoy having a light meal course for my breakfast since they also sell different food. It is a perfect combination for a hot coffee that will wake you up all day long. Their store looks clean and feels clean. The people that serve you always wear safety face masks and gloves. Probably one of the worst Starbucks that I've ever been to. Ordered 2 drinks and a bakery item. Both drinks weren't made correctly- was given practically the opposite of what we ordered. Our bakery item was handed to us in the clear plastic wrap (covered in caramel sauce). When we asked for our drinks to be made correctly (who wants to pay $6-7 for a drink they didn't order) , we were given attitude. Went on a Saturday afternoon and they were Slowwwwwww. Don't come here during potential busy hours. The drive thru was terrible. We got out of the drive thru lane to go inside. Still slammed. Growing up just a few blocks away, this was always the go to spot after school. As an adult who moved back home, I had long forgotten this Starbucks. I must admit, it was a daunting task to go as the line is always super long. Then I saw these reviews and cringed. I can say, however, that after frequenting this place, it gets a bad rep by a bunch of Karen's and their Ken husbands with complicated orders. 9/10 the staff is always kind and catering to my 2 corgi pups, who love their puppacinos and friendly service. Extending kindness to the baristas here when they're busy definitely makes their day. I tried to order two drinks and received a coupon on the app. The manager would not accept the coupon that said it was valid for today and I just received it that morning. They told me the system said it was already redeemed. I told them I did not use it I just got it this morning. The manager responded, "you could be lying." I said, "Are you accusing me of losing? By far the slowest Starbucks in the entire world. I order my coffee before I leave my house (10 min away) and more than half the time I have to stand and wait another 5 minutes for it to come out. Oh Starbucks, how I love thee.....except this one disappoints mee. I always swing through this drive thru on my way to get my nails done in the same plaza and everytime my drink sucks. I know Starbucks can occasionally taste burnt, but at this location it always tastes burnt. I've never encountered a Drive Thru less than 4 cars deep here; nevertheless, they're still speedy. They've always gotten my order correct. I dread coming to this Starbucks. Their service is SO slow and they can't even smile at the window or apologize for the 30 min wait in their drive through. The employees give you attitude when paying and have zero customer service skills after you wait; they don't even say thank you or hi how are you. There are times 159 and Lagrange is not convenient for me, but they are extremely friendlier and more efficient!! The employee, Marky, has got to be the rudest front line person they hAve. I have had several negative experiences with him and I don't understand how he still works the window especially with frustrated customers who have been waiting for so long I in the drive thru. This is a pretty nice Starbucks...the only problem is with the tight parking and drive-thru lot. I usually hate drive-thrus since they seem to always get something wrong with the order - but this Starbucks seems to do a good job. The parking lot is a problem because the drive-thru obstructs the regular parking. But even with that I like this Starbucks - nice coffee and sandwiches. I'm going to start this review with an admission of bias: I worked, for many years, at the old Tinley Park Starbucks (that cute little cafe store--the one that closed after sbux built a drive-thru store across the street...yeah, that one.) and generally, I am not a fan of drive-thru stores at all. Personally, I feel that having a drive-thru takes away from the personal service that cafe store offer; something that Starbucks used to be known for. That being said, this Starbucks does an admirable job of balancing the impersonality of the drive-thru with that added personal touch usually found at cafe stores. I've been in this store when they are slammin' busy through the drive-thru and am still quickly taken care of inside. My drink always comes quickly and made well and the baristas are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable--and they don't try to hit you with the hard sell either. Even better than that? The fact that I can roll in, unannounced, with six teenagers--all who have severe autism--to practice ordering from a menu (using PECS cards and assistive communication devices), waiting, and social skills and have all six boys treated as if they were any other customer? Full-on freaking win. The staff here is always more than patient, no matter how long the line behind us may be, and eager to help my students. Awesomeness! In short, this is one of the very few Starbucks I will still hit up if I am in the area. Given the customer service and their supremely awesome attitude towards my students; it is more than the worth the extra time and effort it takes to give them my business over the other Starbucks in the area. read more
