I have to start this off with 5 stars. 1. its a Starbucks, 2. its at the National Harbor on the water, & 3. it's a Starbucks at the National Harbor. So when I saw the sign go up, coming soon, I couldn't wait. And once we saw the sign, we're open. We parked and rushed in. Couldn't wait. One of my second offices is the Starbucks right up the hill at Tanger Outlets. This would be a nice addition to my Starbucks office locations. The seating on the outside is nice. The seating on the inside is actually a little congested. Although the space is good. If too many people sit at the bar the line will get stuck and jammed. I know, it happened to me. But they'll work out those issues. But, today, there was no line. Nice! 5 star location, coffee and service. Today, They are loaded with employees. Has to be the most employees I've ever seen working at a Starbucks at one time. At least 10 people. The manager Sarah is awesome! read more

Visited this Starbucks location for the first time. Stood in a long line, it wasn't even that cool inside, didn't seem like the A/C was on when the temperature outside was a wicked hot 95°! Not sure what they were thinking... Ordered a Tall Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino and a Venti Iced Green Tea Sweetened. However, they gave us the Serious Strawberry Frappuccino along with the Iced Green Tea which wasn't sweetened, either. Sitting areas were very limited and the shop was stuffy. Need workers to make better tasting drinks and turn up the frickin' A/C!!! read more

Only food and coffee place in National Harbour that is open at 6am, 7 days a week. Amazing location, walking distance from the Gaylord Resort/Convention Center and the Potomac. The blonde lady manager is sharp and on her game. When we put in an order for a green tea latte and the barista accidentally made a chai tea latte and started arguing with us that the chai tea latte has no caffeine in it, the manager quickly cut in and said "don't worry about it, I'm making you a new drink right now". Lines are usually long but move fast. They've got a pretty efficient line. Very impressed by management. Five stars. read more

very convenient starbucks located at national harbor, just steps from the gaylord hotel & convention center, where i was staying for the weekend. each day, after my morning run, i would stop by here to pick up a little something for breakfast, and walk back to my hotel room. i was glad that each time i came, there were only 1-2 customers ahead of me, so it was a minimal wait. this shoppe is a bit on the smaller side, with just a few seats along the window (cocktail height chairs and counter lining the window) and a couple of proper tables & chairs near the front, but they offer everything that i've come to expect from a typical starbucks. there are restrooms in the rear, but you need a code in order to use these facilities...i guess it keeps random strangers/loiterers off the premises! i came on foot, which i think is the best way to get here, but if you need to drive, be prepared to hunt for street parking or pay $$$ to park at one of the nearby garages. read more

I went there on Friday with the kids. We ordered four drinks. 5 minutes after we paid my son changed his mind about his drink. He wanted the same drink as his brother. I asked Bri if it was too late for him to change his mind. She said no not at all. She changed his drink immediately. She had a big smile on her face the whole time. What an amazing customer service. The service here was horrible, two mornings in a row. The baristas are not attentive and messed up my simple "Tall Pike Place with light cream" both mornings. I always receive great service at any Starbucks, that's what they do well beyond coffee. One morning, I received the wrong order and the next morning I only got one cup. The barista looked back at me and asked if I needed something else...yes, the other cup of coffee I ordered. *sigh* They were very busy hanging out and having their own conversations, so no wonder my order was messed up. This location seems to stay pretty busy and the majority of the baristas are very friendly; however, the older female manager there ruins the experience and makes the drive to another location absolutely worth it. After going to the location yesterday and noticing a long wait time for those who ordered inside, I attempted to mobile order today. Not being from here, I selected the closest location, which should have been that location, but later realized I ordered to the incorrect location. When I went inside, I approached the register and asked for a cup of hot water, since there was not a way to order that on the app with the rest of my items. The male at the register was happy to help me, but the woman behind him quickly said they don't give away hot water. I asked why cold water was free and not hot water. The response she gave was, "because it's hot." She was extremely unprofessional as she went around telling the other employees not to give away hot water. The other workers seemed almost uncomfortable with how nasty she was acting. I wish I remembered all of the names, but I do remember Jay-Jay being super amazing and kind. It's people like him that should stick around. The other woman might need to consider another job where she doesn't have to communicate with anyone. read more

The positives were that they were located adjacent to the Westin Hotel which was super convenient, they always had dispensers of ice cold water along with little mini cups for customers to help themselves to during the day and they made decent drinks. The negatives were, a couple of baristas seemed less than friendly, for example, If you asked a question they acted as if you should already know the answer or like you work at Starbucks along with them or something SMH. They were also pretty crowded but I can understand that to a certain extent based on the location, proximity to hotels, eateries and the waterfront area. Ordered 4 drinks and a couple bagels mobile on a Saturday morning. I arrived 5 minutes early and waited 20 minutes without a single person acknowledging me. Efforts to get a barista's attention were futile. Can't say it was entirely the staff's fault. Whoever sets the schedule should find another line of work -- or put in an apron to help customers. Don't go here in the afternoon off season. It was nearly empty, but the staff was more interested in chatting with friends then starting our drink. I'm typically not the type to walk into a Starbucks and pay 20x more for my coffee than what I could make it myself. As a black coffee drinker, it typically costs $8 for a bag of Starbucks coffee which makes about 200 cups-and a tall black will cost $2. What? Opportunity cost I guess. Boyfriend on the other hand is one of the types that likes caffeine occasionally but not coffee. So we came in here before going to the Capital Wheel since we were both a tad chilly. It was January but not awful just quite yet. I ordered my tall black blonde roast-and then BF ordered the largest, sweetest, pinkest passion fruit iced tea concoction they make. The barista working (Tony?) was repeating the stuff back to him as he said it. "You want a venti? Yes please. You want passion fruit flavor? Yup. You want it for free?" UM SURE. He was so floored by the fact that either he won the free drink of the morning or was so adorable to the barista that he charmed him into free drinks. Hey, no harm, no foul. We weren't complaining! Nice to share the love on a chilly January morning, so a few extra bucks went into the tip jar and some extra love went on Yelp. Drinks had a little extra love-not hard to mess up a black coffee (one reason I like it, along with wine-hard to mess it up except underpouring). Retail items looked great and the store was clean and tidy. We were greeted warmly and with genuine enthusiasm (helped that apparently a fellow Kings fan was the one greeting us and a hockey conversation quickly brought a shared disappointment in our team this year lol). The coffees came up quickly and were solid Starbucks lattes, and the breakfast sandwiches were exactly what you'd expect if you've had dozens of them (as we have). My major issue with this specific location is one of the workers. White Male early 30s with a beard. Completely unprofessional after the register charged my card 3 times for 1 purchase. I simply made him aware of the issue and he immediately throws attitude my way telling me theres nothing that can be done, and began an argument. I didnt even ask for a refund Because I was so unimpressed with his leadership/Customer service skills. People like this are ruining the Starbucks brand and experience. Ill never return to this location. But I highly recommend that specific employee enroll in leadership/Customer service/Interpersonal skill seminars & or Classes. read more

This Starbucks is extremely busy. The lattes are terrific and the customer service is decent. The call out i would make is certainly they need more staff during the peak hours. One may easily stand in line for 30 minutes waiting. If you planning on visiting this Starbucks, i highly suggest you utilize the Starbucks app to make your purchase 3 minutes upon your arrival or when you arrive. I know that normally I get good service at any Starbucks but the DMV area seems to be lacking in that department. This was my first time visiting this store and it was disappointing for two reasons. When I order via the mobile app, other stores have the drinks placed in such a way you can see your name on the receipt and grab it. This place did neither of those things. I had to grab someone's attention to get my order. Someone who was busy yes making other drinks, which made getting their attention difficult. And their annoyance showed. There is seating inside and out, though it gets a little chilly if you sit inside for over an hour. Which means the AC works great !!! So that's a good thing. Very neat location, on the corner of a busy intersection near the Gaylord conference center and resort, however there is also a Starbucks within the Gaylord. I wanted to get out for a short walk as it was a beautiful morning and this location is not very far from the Gaylord maybe 4-5 blocks. I don't recommend coming here during 'Christmas on the Potomac'. The line was 25 people deep easy and took 25 minutes to get to the front to order. So disappointed in our visit to this location. Line was long, bathrooms dirty, and the lack of customer service was astounding. I was initially greeted, bought four coffee drinks and presented my rewards card, the girl only put two stickers on my card, when she should have put four. I would have said something if I knew that was how it worked. Found out later from a barista at a different location that I should have received four. The female preparing the drinks had the absolute worst attitude I have ever seen. No smile, no eye contact, no apologies as she slapped our drinks down with no description given. When I mentioned this to her by saying "Which one of my four drinks is this?" She just rolled her eyes, and continued with the same bad attitude. Customers behind me called her out on her lack of customer service. Drinks were just okay, I could have received better service at at McDonalds.
