If only the service at every Starbucks were as cookie cutter as the menu. I stopped in here on the way to Tahoe and it was a weekday morning. There was no line and your usual spattering of folks sitting around casually surfing the internet or reading the paper. So it came as a surprise to me that the "barista" at the counter a full five minutes to finish whatever it was she went in back to do before taking my order. It came as another surprise that she had to step away to take care of some baked goods and get a lid for some lady who had been sitting since before I got there - all before I was able to pay. In all, it took a good ten+ minutes between walking up to the counter and getting my drink - and that's with no customers ahead of me. The wait was partially balanced out by the super cheerful employees. Nevertheless, part of the appeal of Starbucks is speed and that's the opposite of what I found here. read more

My son and I ordered two drinks and two food items. We sat down and waited for them. They called us up four times! Each time something was ready. Mind you I have a child with me, getting up multiple times is a little more involved with a kid. I don't frequent Starbucks so I don't know if this is normal but I would have much rather gotten up once when my entire order was ready. Not to mention my coffee was molten lava so it's not like I could have drank it right away anyway (I did not order it extra hot, I can't imagine they could have made it any hotter anyway). Couldn't even sip it for 20 minutes and still hot enough to burn my mouth. Also, the gal at the register was friendly, but unable to explain the drinks to me so I could get something I'd like. Worst Starbucks ever!.. Wouldn't take a hundred dollar bill at 3:00 in the afternoon during rush hour.. Had to stay in the Drive-Thru.. Manager said that it is policy even though this is the only Starbucks they've ever said no to.. They don't have it posted they just want to play the power card... there was five people ahead of me in line and I let him know at the drive-thru they probably got enough change in the five people to give it to me. I love their coffee. My name is Heidi and I'm a strabuckaholic. My problem with this particular location is the drive up. "Hi welcome to Starbucks, this is Wilma, Whats your name" EVERY single time I drive through. I know they have to go through all of that, but its tiring. I just want to give my order. If they need my name, just ask me after I order, like they do when you go inside the store. Other then that the drive up is fast, the drinks made just as well as in the store. I know I'll be back as I have a baby with me who is generally asleep when I'm looking for coffee. I don't have to get him out of the car to get my hit. read more

Also front door glass is kinda disgusting and trash barrel out front seems to always be overflowing, mostly with things that could be recycled. Absolutely the worst Starbucks I have been to. This one is always out of sleeves, has no spices out and take ages to put drinks out. I've waited 15-20 minutes before and they never ask if I want my pastries warmed. I am been treated rudely by baristas 9 times out of ten at this Starbucks and it's rarely clean. Recieved terrible service today. Ordered two drinks and waited 25 mins. I went up to the counter and asked how long our drinks would be. She said im sorry I dont see your order. I said please refund my money. The cashier said, "sorry man, black friday." The store was not even that busy. Really, that is how you keep customers!? I guess Starbucks is too big to fail! You just lost a long term customer! The store was unkept, light bulbs were out and the store was dirty. They also had a brewista with a thick accent calling out orders that nobody could understand. Dear easy access Placerville Starbucks - Please do not start closing early and opening late like your other counterparts. I depend on you when I drive from South Lake Tahoe up and down Hwy 50 to the CA valley. I need your hot sustenance to make it through the blizzard like conditions and warm my hands after CHP makes me put my chains on 5 miles too early. I need it to break up my drive because it may not be far up that hill or down it but damn it seems like it takes forever. Plus, your employees are some of the better Starbucks baristas I've come across. They are always enthusiastic about everything I ask about. Literally the worst Starbucks location I've gone too. These women are super disrespectful for one. Most of them are hired right out of high school or still attending and have no knowledge of the items listed on their menu or know how to properly prepare them. The staff is always friendly and warm. But It seems once a week my order is messed up. I ask for the food to be warmed open face so I have no cold spots and by the time I get to the center it was not warmed open like I asked. Still very much cold and gross. I'm sad this is the only Starbucks in my area with a drive thru at this time. Guess I will be saving money by spending less here. I'd have to say this location is failing. I order the same drink every time from multiple locations. I believe it to be fast employee overturn, but someone should know how to make coffee in the shop. 7/10 previous orders were wrong, at least half burnt, and half not being remedied correctly. This location is hit and miss. I have met friends here over the years with mixed results. For example, on one of my last visits, my Green Tea Frap had chocolate bits in it. No, it isn't supposed too. At least once a hot drink I bought was not hot. Oftentimes the staff were chatting among themselves while I had to wait. I visit A LOT of Starbucks locations and this one is definitely low on my list. This is the only location where I've had to wait for a mobile order (and not just a few minutes), and if you go inside the lobby to order expect to be there a long time - they definitely try to focus on getting drive-thru orders out quickly and sacrifice service inside. As someone who often studies late at Starbucks this also seems to be a location with unreliable hours - the app says they're open until 12:00 (I realize that's the drive-thru) but sometimes the lobby closes at 10:00 pm, sometimes 9:00 pm and randomly at 8:45...no rhyme or reason it seems. read more

We stopped in to grab a "quick" cold frappe and latte. Usually, we pass on this location just due to previous experiences there, but hey! Give it another try! As always, front doors filthy, tables, floors, messy. When they finally called my hubbys lemon cake order the manager tossed it on the pick up counter which had coffee spilled all over it. Now, the bag is soaked. The young man making my latte breve asks his co worker, "Does breve have 1/2 and low fat milk?" Really??? My hubby ordered a Salted Carmel Mocha with a shot of espresso. It took a very long time so I asked if it was coming. (Sometimes orders get lost)The young man said, "I'm doing on line orders only". I guess he couldn't turn around and ask anyone. At least 6 min later, he got his order, but forgot the shot. Redo! The frappe tasted like slightly sweet ice. Zero mocha. Pretty gross. This is one of my usual stops as I always get gas at Safeway. Today they were so slow and didn't acknowledge me at all. Took forever for guy ahead of me to get a black cup of coffee. Then she ignores me. Finally she says she'll be right with me. I wait even longer. Three people pile in line behind me. She takes my order and before my transaction is done she starts helping next guy on other register. When my card is approved, I ask her if I'm good to go. Usually I'm asked if I want a receipt. No. nothing. No thank you or thanks for waiting. Nothing. Then our order takes forever. All people behind me get their orders. We get our drinks but not until everyone behind me is long gone do we finally get the egg sandwich and croissant we ordered. Not happy. I counted six people working there. They were not on it or ready for the rush and seemed to be primarily concerned with the drive through customers. I will think twice before coming to this location again. read more

Worst service I've ever encountered at a Starbucks! They had no white sugar or raw sugar, ONLY equal and Splenda. Did not mention this to me until I asked after ordering black coffee. Young lady couldn't be bothered to stop sweeping to greet me, take my order, get my coffee or look for sugar. Three young ladies were not interested in customer service or a clean store front. I used the app today to order my drink online so I could just run in and pick it up instead of waiting in line. I show up to get my drinks and they tell me they didn't get an order from me. I showed them my receipt and they tell me it never came through so I ordered it a second time which charged me a second time and sat down to wait. They told me it would be 5-10 minutes. I'm still sitting here 30 minutes later with no drinks. I guess if you pay double then the drinks takes more that twice as long to make. I hope since that first order "didn't go through" that they take that first charge off. I shouldn't be penalized because their app had some sort of glitch. read more

Used to be a better Starbucks location, but has SEVERELY decreased within the last 2 months or so. I have sat in the drive thru multiple times for 20+ minutes when there was a small amount of cars in line. Poor service and they are extremely slow. Not the worst coffee in the world but I'd recommend going to any other possible location if you're on a time limit. read more

Normally this location is wonderful... this morning I went through the drive through, I ordered a coffee that I get daily, but this morning I wanted it to be hot instead of iced. The person I talked to over the intercom said that she could do it for me. I got to the window to find something that was different, so I had questions as to how it was made and to see if we could get in the same page. There was two cars behind me, so I was trying to hurry.The lady at the window talked to me like I was clueless in a very condescending manner. Every time I come here, no matter what time of day, I can not get a decaf coffee. It's even worse in the afternoon when I come for an iced decaf coffee. They look at me like I have a third eye. I just ask them to please give me a cup of decaf and pour it over ice, I don't know why I keep trying at this location, it's the only place I have this problem. We just waited for 25 minutes in the drive through for coffee. We got up to the window to see workers standing around. We got our coffee and mine was 3/4 full. It's open much later than the other Starbucks around me. They have a drive-thru! Awesome! The service is pretty fast and the beverages are consistent. The staff are always friendly and cheerful (they actually enjoy working!). I often take the dog for a car ride and we grab a frap. He gets the whipped cream. Win-win! read more

This is the slowest Starbucks in the whole world! It always seems like they have 10 people working. I know its a busy location but get it together. Starbuck's Placerville Grande Iced Cafe Mocha is a TOTAL RIP OFF!!! The Grande is supposed to be 16 oz, however, when I ordered it iced I received slightly less than 8 oz. of coffee and about 8 oz. of ice!!!! I had asked the barista if I ordered something iced would I still get the same amount of coffee, for instance like a Venti. She showed me the cup and said it was filled to a certain level, but iced they use a larger cup because of the added ice. When I ordered the Grande, she did not explain anything!!! I call that Negative Fraud. My question was direct, and she withheld truthful information. When my husband came outside with the cup, I went back inside to talk to her about the amount of coffee. She did offer to make it over, but I was afraid she would sabotage my drink with her spit (like you see in movies), as she was such a SNOT!!! So, I left saying I wouldn't be back. BEWARE of what you are getting when ordering an iced beverage!!!
