Pete is a five star kind of place because their drinks are quality. I am enjoying redeeming my birthday rewards at my favorite places and today I went to get my birthday drink at Peet's . Their rewards program is much better than Starbucks because they give you 14 days to redeem your birthday drink and on Starbucks app you have to redeem it ONLY on your birthday, so it is extremely limited. That kind of explains the difference between Starbucks and Peet's and their philosophies. I always wanna try something new and they were featuring iced vanilla lavender matcha latte for their spring menu so I tried that and I started to feel the energy after half of the large drink so I am saving the other half for tomorrow. The vanilla and lavender syrup were subtle and did not overwhelm the flavor of the Matcha so that made me happy. I also asked for very little ice and they made it just like I asked for it. It was not watered down with too much ice. This little coffee shop next to Jensen's and close to the Cabrillo national Monument is a gem. They also have some nice menu items if you're hungry. I haven't had to try them yet. So if you haven't done it yet, get their app and join their rewards program. You get to try all kind of special drinks and Peet's is just an overall quality place for coffee and tea. They have nice bathrooms that require a code and their employees are always anxious to please the customer. read more

One of my fave places in the world! When it comes to coffee, Peet's is consistently outstanding! I fave is a mocha! I judge all mochas around the world to Peet's mocha! Yes, it's that good! It's not overly sweet. You can taste the chocolate and the espresso as they mingle and dance upon your tongue. I have Never had a burnt shot at Peet's! The team is on top of the service game! They are informed of what is in hand and able to provide a knowledgeable answer if you have any questions about the coffee/beans/pastries that are available. The local has a good amount of regulars so that tells you it's a solid place to come! The noise level is minimal. It's roomie with a few power outlets for one to plug in their laptops/devices to charge while in use. Some here and enjoy the wonder service Peet's provides! Peet's used to be the place to go for a quality espresso drink, but they switched their machines several years ago and things seem more automated and less hand crafted. The temperature of the drinks is often not hot enough even when I ask for extra hot. I'm sorry to say it's becoming more like a Starbucks :( It's still far better than Starbucks but become more expensive and not as good as it used to be. :( read more

Peet's is a good coffee shop. And I'm happy to say it's been a good coffee shop in all my current and past visits. There is always a good staff of baristas there who are willing to answer your questions and help you with your choices. After taking a morning hike, it was a good opportunity to swing by an pick up a hot latte. My choice this time around was a pumpkin spice latte. It was good they had them around even rather late into December. To be honest, it wasn't the best pumpkin spice latte I've ever had but far from the worst. It was generally good but didn't seem "pumpkin enough." I do not mean overly sweet - I never like my drinks Starbucked! It just didn't have anything that stood out to me that made it stand out from other shops I've visited. Perhaps it's something Peet's may want to work on to give theirs its own identity next year. But it was good - and that's why I use the word "good" for Peet's. I want the the day to come when I call Peet's GREAT! The shop's interior is very nice in appearance overall. Wooden furniture that is reasonably spread out makes for a comfortable seating area without feeling squeezed in or intruded upon. The coffee shop was really modern and very clean. They have lots of seating areas. The only issue I had was their staff. They are not very friendly bordering on the point of rude. After a long day of hiking my girlfriend and I wanted some coffee to replenish our energy. As we were almost home we stopped by Peet's coffee to get some drinks. I felt like something cool and refreshing so I just got myself iced Americano. Well they just made it so tasty today I really tasted the coffee. My girlfriend wanted a nice creamy drink so she got herself a iced latte with a whipped cream and sprinkles of cinnamon and nutmeg. She really loved it and it just hit the spots. We wanted a little rest so we sat at a table outside and just enjoyed the day. It was quite a lively day here and that just made it more enjoyable. It can get busy here prior to 10am on any day. So warning as you will have to wait to get your coffee. Seems like a local meet up place. It's not quiet so don't think you can come here and get some quiet time to work and just have coffee. Wow!! What an amazing Peets coffee this is! Might I say they have amazing customer service, and excellent coffee. First time I came I got a shot of espresso with a bit of milk. Delicious. Second time got a green tea but when asked for the nutritional info they didn't have it ready and couldn't really tell me the information. I have just been wanting to cut my sugar intake so I watch when I go out to places to try and get low sugar drinks. The guy tried to help by asking the girl behind the counter but she didn't really know either- they just gave me the sugar content information for the sweetner they use not the entire drink. As as the line grew behind me he kind of rushed me and I just kind of picked whatever. The tea was alright. But wow, I came in that night around 630-7 pm to buy fruit and the most handsome man was working. I know that doesn't matter but I just had to say it. Not only that but he was extremely nice. I talked to him about a bad experience I had at Jensens and he had a real genuine conversation with me unlike the person before him. Peet's is great ! I visited my first Peet's in San Francisco and it was a great experience so I decided to check out this one in OB. Friendly staff, easy online ordering and great coffee ! Their iced americano was delicious and I tried their plant based breakfast sandwich which was the perfect accompaniment ! This is my favorite chain coffee place! I know it's more of a kids drink, but I love the Javiva Blended. I've tried all the flavors - mocha, caramel, coffee and you can't go wrong with either. Every time I've been here, the staff is always happy and very friendly to every single customer. They're the epitome of great customer service - especially in the early hours of the day. The location is great for people watching too. There's always someone sitting on the patio with their dogs or a group of bicyclist riding through. They have free wifi too! Friendly people with easy small talk makes your day start off great. Couple of students probably from Nazerene studying at 7am... wierd. and 2 students from a local HS came in for a early morning treat! There than that WiFi and plenty of space to just watch people. How nice it was to find a Peets when away from home. This location had pastries and food options that it appeared a local place had made so I tries their spinach / salt one and it was pretty fresh and tasty. Loved their out door seating and chill environment. Construction was going on the roads around here, but persevere and you will find your way here! Review #018 - 2017 On our drive up to Cabrillo National Monument, I needed to make a quick stop to use the ladies's room because I wasn't sure if the restroom at the park would be open or if I'd have to wait in a long line...so I was so happy to see a Peet's along the way. I assume this area must of short of minorities because when I walked in, I was the only person in the whole place that wasn't Caucasian. Everyone looked at me like I was lost, but that's ok, I just needed to empty my bladder & be on my merry little way. Thank goodness the bathroom was clean! Owen decided to order their mocha javiva and asked me if I wanted a taste, so I did and it was surprisingly good. I'd have to admit that it's better than some of the frappuccinos that I've ordered at a Starbucks. However, since I'm not a frappuccino fan, I probably won't start jumping on the Peet's bandwagon anytime soon. read more

I don't care about WiFi or decor or music... I care ONLY about the coffee. I only order black coffee, so my review isn't swayed by milks, creams, sweeteners or whipped creme that one can add in their coffee. I drink Domingo, House or Major. Black. I have tried to find good coffee in my hometown but it's all brown water compared to Peet's. Because of that, I don't commute with coffee. I drive 35 miles before I get to my Peet's and then drive one more mile to get to work. I've even tried to find good coffee in the Seattle area when on business travel but it's all brown water compared to Peet's. As the site says order before you get there. We went last weekend on our way to the landings. Staff not helpful and customer service lacking. By the time you read all the signs to figure out what direction they want you to go, because they can't be bothered to tell you, but they can yell over from the counter to pull your mask up. But still not ask if you here to pick up or order. Should have turned around and thrown out the gift card then. Ordered, then went to pick up drinks ... look around for the cream. Person who gave us the drinks said they have to add it. Hmm we haven't been in a coffee shop since COVID hit and they then lecture us that we should have ordered it at the cashier ... maybe they should have apologized for not asking before giving us our drinks or they could have confirmed plain black coffees did you want cream or sugar, mind you no other customers in store so no one is rushed. Shouldn't the cashier have asked or someone asked? So taking the lid off the drink to add milk, you would usually have to drink some off the top - got yelled at for pulling mask down to take a sip, and then noticed ... don't have to sip and don't have to pour any coffee out to add milk because the cup's not full. Peet's Coffee I've always heard people raving over. I don't quite understand why. The inside was spacious and seems to be a great spot if you're a student a Point Loma and need to get out of your dorm room for a while. The clients were definitely varied but the baristas were rather rude and the coffee wasn't all that fantastic. When I asked for "room" in my cup the barista had filled it almost to the tippy top. How the hell am I supposed to pour any soy milk in/carry it across the busy floor area with an exposed hot beverage? Aggravating. I tried to doctor up the coffee the best that I could at the coffee station but it was no use. Perhaps they do better on their mixed coffee drinks?
