The staff were super friendly and their service was great. Luckily there wasn't anyone else in line so we were able to ask questions about their menu. After they gave their recommendations, we ended up with the bon bon, abuela's, and an americano. All were very good, but abuela's was my favorite! Very flavorful! There were also seating areas inside and out, and some cute merch and other items for purchase. We will definitely be back if in town again!

We apologized and moved, but one nearby gentleman seemed disproportionately upset by our innocent mistake despite there being plenty of open spaces. As for the drinks, my husband ordered the Choco Latte and I got the iced Matchas Gracias. Both were decent. My matcha was a bit grainy, but the vanilla cold foam was tasty and helped balance it out. The space itself is charming, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, nothing was wrong with the experience, but the drinks weren't memorable enough to bring me back, and the rocky start with parking left me feeling a little less enthusiastic than I'd hoped. I'm glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip to return.

It is spacious with a light, bright airy feel. All the "baristas" were so welcoming and friendly. They seemed to enjoy their job and their coworkers. They set off a very cohesive vibe. I wish I could have spent the morning just being there but had to leave for a funeral. So many things caught our eye! The baked goods were devine. The T-shirts were super soft and I would have bought one of they had our sizes. The roasted coffee beans were priced fairly. I haven't even gotten to the coffee yet! There were so many iced coffee/cold brew options it was really hard to choose. We ended up selecting the Lemon Pistachio shortbread cookie, a Ginger Molasses cookie, a seasonal scone: Honey Cinnamon, an iced Latte and an iced Vanilla Bean Latte: 1/2 sweet and a bag of Classic Espresso beans. My only sadness was I should have gotten a large latte instead of a regular. We saved the desserts for after the funeral and enjoyed the yummy coffees on our way. The Ginger Molasses cookie was perfect. Moist and chewy and not too much ginger. I should have bought more! The Lemon Pistachio cookie had a lovely balance of lemon zest and fine pieces of pistachio in the cookie and a not too tart lemon glaze and pieces of pistachio on top. It wasn't dry or super dense either. Someone making these is an experienced baker! The Honey Cinnamon scone was the best scone we have ever had. It was messy but so worth it. If you want an entire coffee experience, you have to visit Scout Coffee on Foothill Blvd in SLO. You will not stop thinking about what a beautiful experience it was after you've gone.

Their windows are all open so there's quite a lot of sunlight coming through the windows which adds a nice touch to the entire store. It did take a little bit for my drink to get made but I honestly appreciate baristas taking their time with each individual drink instead of batching everything. But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. When asked if there is a local chai, the barista (who is a chai fan) couldn't think of any. This explains why the local reviews were so good for mediocre concentrate. While the chai quest was a miss here in SLO, Kreuzberg is still a pretty cool spot, with a fun, social vibe, friendly, helpful staff, and some tasty looking items on their menu (just not a stop for chai).

Should Have Known Better…read more.... I've been to the Nautical Bean on Los Osos Valley Road a few times since my review in March 2026 and each visit earned 4 or 5 stars. Not bad! But I went back on Monday, June 8th and had a very different experience. I ordered 2 small cups of hot chai with extra foam, extra hot and 1/2 sweet. When they were done, both were "heavy" meaning they felt like there was no foam. I checked and yup...no foam. I mentioned it to the barista who said "no problem. I'll do them over". They were done quickly, but still felt "heavy". I didn't want to go back and figured "it's just me". I got into my car and tried one. It was 90% the same as before. She simply scraped a sliver of the drink off the top and added a touch of foam. Plus...the liquid was "thin" meaning she nearly scalded the drink to get it hot. The 2nd chai was the same way. And the shop wasn't even busy at the time. Everyone at the Nautical Bean is friendly and the vibe is great, but next time I'll take my own advice...even if that means going back to the barista twice to get things right.
