Yo so I dislike Starbucks as much as the next person for their basic-Ness in a city full of simply higher quality coffee at more reasonable prices, what ive heard about how they treat employees, and unbelievable level of mid. That being said my haterade drinking ass gave this particular Starbucks 5 stars for 2 significant reasons 1.) Its not packed and super loud like the other loud coffee shops in the area (pasta, retreat, etc) 2.) Its the only Starbucks I know that has a rooftop. A flipping rooftop deck /lounge!! Its quiet, nobody (until now, I have been gate keeping the ish out of this place) know about it and it has a wonderful view of greenlake. A beautiful place to start or finish a walk around greenlake or meet up with someone just to hang about and activate the melanin. I had the pleasure to meet Ryan, the Manager, at the Starbucks in Green Lake, store # 389 on Friday, July 3, 2026. When I picked up my Venti Oatmilk Latte with an extra shot, extra hot and no foam, not only did it have a nice handwritten comment on my cup, he added my name! Wow! Even though my name is on the order ticket attached to the cup, writing my name and recognizing me as a customer is the ultimate gesture in customer service! Nice location of Starbucks in the Greenlake location. Found out from the staff that this is one of the flagship stores with pilot food items which are not available for purchase online. Tried the waffle sandwich. It tasted a bit like the McGriddle but the sausage is vegan. Enjoyed the food, coffee and ambiance at this location. Perfect for cooling our heels before finding our way to our next accomodation. Saw a leek and goat cheese pastry and other new and more interesting items on their in store menu. There's also a rooftop but it's closed. Require a code to use the unisex restrooms. Tip: Don't order online before checking out their more interesting in store menu items! read more

Ive spent thousands of dollars at this company over the last 20 years. People have described it as "corporate" and "burnt" but I brushed it off because I like the coffee. The staff at this location are always cool. Today I decided to pee before ordering and when I asked for the code I was asked if I had ordered yet and said no. They said bathrooms were for "paying customers" only. I told her I am a paying customer but no code. Apparently this is an assistant manager (jules?). Not sure if this is actually corporate policy or if they promote people that actively destroy their business. I guess to them paying customers are people who have bought coffee in the last 5 minutes. With my business paying customers are people who buy my product. You get to choose your policy and I get to choose where I spend my money. This location is always on top of it. Being near Green Lake, they are constantly busy, but they always greet you as soon as you walk in the door and are very accommodating. They keep it clean, whether it be the actual store or bathrooms. Love the rooftop patio; it's definitely a plus compared to a lot of other locations that lack any real comfortable areas to enjoy the scenery and your beverages. Drinks are top notch as well; if any issues arise, they are more than willing to fix it right away. Very kind staff. Makes me laugh reading the review from some loser complaining it took 15 minutes to get two waters. Like really? Your complaining about the free waters that you inconvenienced the staff with, while they are trying to make ACTUAL DRINKS THAT PEOPLE PAY FOR is pathetic. Grow up little boy. Enjoyed a quiet, productive morning with dark roast coffee, tucked in the booth seating upstairs (lovely outdoors patio upstairs ftw). Baristas are hit-or-miss but love the space. Conveniently located a block from my place...a little too convenient. It also conveniently located across the street from Green Lake. So after you've made your visit to GL, you can swing by and grab any of Starbucks offerings. It's a typical Starbucks, with typical Starbucks fare. Yes, you can get your venti-quad-vanilla-latte, or whatever caffeine-filled drink your heart desires. The staff here are friendly. I like that I can order from my mobile phone and just swing by to pick up my order before my day starts. And there is plenty of space to spread out to work on your laptop, or browse the websites. And free wifi is always nice. There is also ample seating outside, and the rooftop is also a good place to hang. There is a tiny parking lot, however, there is also plenty of street parking nearby. read more

So another unfriendlish experience at my first visit to this Starbucks .. We arrived around 715pm and ordered a couple drinks and stayed and talked.. The cashier was just a tad friendly but I said thanks to the barista and he didn't even look at me .. We thought it closed at 9pm per hours but at 828 we were told they close at 830pm .. This was on a Tuesday night 2/2... So another mediocre experience I have no idea why I tipped for unfriendly service but I guess I felt bad they seemed so sad .. I like going to this Starbucks as it's the closest within walking distance and is centrally located in the heart of Greenlake. The baristas are friendly, but the customers are a bit snobbish and unfriendly. Upstairs is great for studying, but the WIFI is painfully slow which is on the AT&T nextwork. While the beauty (or if you're actually from Seattle, the tragedy) of Starbucks is that you can be in Seattle or London or Tokyo or wherever and you will find pretty much the same offerings, the same third-place like feel, etc., etc., I have to say that Starbucks stores do differ from each other. This one, for example, stands out. While their espresso drinks have always been mediocre at best (save for the flat white which is decent and really what espresso should taste like for what I pay for their other drinks except it's about a buck or 2 more!), they do taste consistently across the board. Even here, Starbucks tastes like how it should. The food is the same as every store. Service is standard albeit a little slower than any Starbucks I've ever been to downtown. Not really glacial pace by any means but slower. What makes this place stand out to me is the rooftop deck upstairs that I don't even wanna tell you about. I've yet to see it overly crowded and don't want that to start happening. There's patio furniture up there and even some comfy chairs. When I want to study outdoors but also need WiFi, this place has always been perfect! When I'm concerned my laptop might overheat, the umbrellas they have are perfect. I can be under the sun and the laptop can be in the shade connected to the internet while also plugged in. You're away from the constant loudness of the espresso machines and the blenders and the people coming in and out but the espresso bar is just downstairs. Overall, one of my favorite Starbucks stores. It has all the standard offerings plus the amazing rooftop deck. read more

Baristas are friendly. I don't come here too often but when I do, I enjoy it. They have a small parking lot and street parking is hard to come by in the area! People do come here to work but really, can you be that annoyed with people talking next to you when you treat Starbucks like your personal office? Bring headphones. read more

No kidding. I once ordered a grande' green tea latte then asked the preparer how much matcha (green tea) powder is standard for the grande' size. After she answered the question, the cashier disputed the amount, stating a different amount should be used. A mild verbal confrontation ensued. It was comical. Some people take their Starbucks handbook home to study nightly, I guess. (Preparer won the fight, btw). I really don't like the coffee here at all. Never have.
