I love this starbucks, however just suggest the open hours change from 4 AM to 5 AM. Early bird here went to get a pick up order for in-store all hours say they open at 4 AM ( for in store pick up remind you) door was locked at 4:15 two baristas just stood there looked at me so I went through the drive-through got my order but they were not very "happy" lol. I get it's early AF, but if they say doors open at 4 AM and the doors are locked past 4AM and you're looking at me like I made these hours up, then what the hell? Change hours? Happier Baristas? Located in the busy Interbay area, this eclectic Starbucks hosts everyone from local residents to blue collar folks on their way to work at one of the many area businesses. There's always a long line at the drive-thru, so I prefer to find a place to park in their huge lot and go inside to stretch my legs a bit while grabbing my coffee. There's also a ton of seating, though the seats are almost always full. If I'm solo, I sit at one of their shared counters when I need to get some work done on my laptop. It's located in what appears to be an old fast food establishment, so it's a bit dark inside compared to other SBX. Still, it's so convenient on my Seattle days that I find myself here often. Watch out - this Starbucks will sneak up on you and it's NOT easy to turn around if you miss it. Pro tip: it's located right next to a Taco Time, so if you see the TT sign start slowing down. read more

UPDATED REVIEW: I'm done with Starbucks (this and all other locations). Used to be a regular but tired of getting ripped off in 2 ways: an 80 cents charge for substituting milk with a non-dairy alternative and drinks that are not even remotely filled to the top of whatever size you ordered (see pic of venti drink and the enormous empty space...and that was before I took even one sip....and it's not the only time...happens 50%-75% of the time). They already charge you a VERY steep price for mediocre coffee and then to do this 2 things I mentioned to customers is OUTRAGEOUS! Do yourself a favor: buy a Keurig or Nespresso machine and make your own coffee automatically at home. The machine will pay for itself rapidly after just a couple of months based on the cost savings of not paying Starbucks prices. Also either machine's coffee tastes better and is multiple times cheaper per cup than Starbucks. Also buy some disposable cups and lids and you've essentially recreated a better and cheaper version of Starbucks. That being said I recommend a reusable mug (environment and whatnot). read more

I noticed they are now welcoming inside sit in which is pretty late since most have opened sit-ins for several months. Used to like it there, pretty gregarious service albeit busy with drive-thru service. Last I was there it has gotten edgy with baristas sounding tired and short. I noticed a girl who by the counter is responsible for heating sandwiches which she had to unwrap the plastic bag of each cold sandwich and insert it into just 2 ovens and have to tend the counter too. Meantime she's also responsible for delivering those sandwiches after it's been heated to the guy serving the drive-thru customers through the window. It's not the sweet service that i used to know. I think drive-thrus don't align with the concept of a cafe as a warm social place. It is probably a money maker for Schultz but I would avoid drive-thrus all together. read more

Nothing wrong with the service at this Starbucks. However, they changed the multi-stall restrooms to "all-gender" without modifications to ensure the privacy of patrons. They need to either add floor-to-ceiling privacy partitions or make the restrooms single-use only by adding interior locks. As it is, you'll get more privacy squatting in the bushes outside. That is not a good strategy for a company charging nearly $8 for a cup of coffee and croissant. Starbucks also needs to increase the cleaning of the bathrooms so it doesn't get sticky in there. Part of the sky-high cost of Starbucks is that I get amenities like clean, safe and reasonably private restrooms, not a grubby, peep-show environment. I mean, yuck. read more

Aren't all Starbucks the same? They are to me at least. I am no coffee snob, I even enjoy coffee from 7-11. However, I do like that this location has a screen that shows the order taker from the drive thru, so you can totally see if they do an eye roll as you're asking a stupid question. I always prefer the hibiscus tea over coffee anytime past 10:30am... its damn tasty and you even get whole berries in it. My go-to Starbucks drive-thru, but only because it's closest to my house. There are a few exceptions, but anymore 9 times out of 10 the person manning the window is unfriendly. I don't know what it is about this location that makes this the case; most other 'bucks-thrus are friendly (sometimes too friendly). Anyway, here, expect for the most part to not get eye contact or a thank you. And expect ALWAYS to have to ask for a sleeve or a napkin, because (other than the Hawaiian[?]looking guy with the wavy, dark hair and glasses or the bald, sweet, gay guy), aint no one gonna give you one unless you specifically ask. Naturally, I looked for a Starbucks. This location was on my way back to the hotel. It was 19°C, which I consider to be warm for March. I went to the drive-thru and ordered an iced green tea. I needed something refreshing to drink. This drive-thru was busy. There were four cars in front of me. I like it here. The lanes are wide. When you exit the place, there are lanes to turn left and right. The location is a bit of a problem when you want to turn left, as I had to. Traffic can be heavy and they are driving at quite the clip! The barista was friendly when she handed me my beverage. My drink tasted great. Hey another Starbucks in Seattle. I appreciate that this one is on Elliott. It's a good spot to do a coffee enroute to wherever you're going. Work? Going home from work? ;). There's decent seating here as well as outdoor seating. So if it's a rare occasion where it's not raining freezing, you can bring your pooch while sipping on your morning elixir. The times I've come here, I haven't had any issues with the staff. They've always been fun to chat with and can be a fun lively bunch. It's not the easiest to walk to if you live in the area, but definitely a good snack stop, especially if the bridge is up or if the 99 is a nightmare. read more

It's rare that I feel THIS good about a coffee. I drink a lot of coffee, i go to a lot of places, from Starbucks to Ladro to Bird on a Wire in West Seattle. All of them are fantastic, too, but I think maybe the circumstances helped this particular cup of coffee even more important. This friday, I'd had a long day. The thursday night before, I went to a show and was out late, and work was crazy on Friday. All day. We were short one person, too. This meant I was exhausted by the time I had to pick up Beth (which is a common problem for me, in the best of times) and take her to another show. I drove to the Clipper and waited for her arrival. Then I decided that no, I needed coffee in order to stay operational and make the evening fun for her. I started driving north on Western/Elliott. I drove for what felt like too long, and I knew that I had to turn around really soon if I was still going to be at the Clipper on time. Then I saw it. Starbucks. Oh man, awesome. So I pulled into their drive through, the cute barista was super nice, and I bought what I thought was a particularly good tall vanilla americano with soy milk. It made me glad. And I made the Clipper on time, too. And the coffee helped me stay at least a little fun for the whole evening. Hooray. read more

Like all Starbucks, this has the basic things you expect. You can get your venti caramel macchiato here. You can get that toffee almond bar that's been a guilty pleasure. You can even buy that James Taylor CD (an even a guiltier pleasure). Plus there's a few other things: it's fairly spacious inside, there's a drive-thru and best of all, air conditioning. But here's two notable points for this Starbucks location: 1) Open Late. They're open until 10 pm weekdays and 11 pm Friday and Saturday. 2) In the evenings, this is the safest place in the city. As far as I can tell, this is the official hangout of the second shift of the Seattle Police Department. Almost every evening, you can see at least two or three SPD cars here. The other night, I saw there was a bunch of Sherriff cars here intermixed with the SPD. This made me giddy at the thought of a Super Troopers level smackdown going on inside ("I'm sorry Bruce, these boys get that syrup in 'em....."), but sadly they were all just drinking coffee. read more

I love this Starbucks because it has a drive through and its located on a nice busy street that I frequent! The only downfall is sometimes the drive through line is super long. When that happens it makes more sense to just go inside. The staff is always friendly. I have never had anything but a positive experience here! Watch out for the parking lot raccoons! This was one of my first "regular" Starbucks when I first moved to Seattle (when I believed that is was LAW to go to the "local-boys-made-good-coffee-chain") and the reason was it was the only drive-thru between me and my ongoing consulting job. Later, when I moved into Seattle proper, my patronage became more intermitent; although recently, for some reason, I seem to be going there a lot. ANYWAY, the service here is awesome; everyone is always friendly; okay, except for that one stoic barista who didn't even try to be sympathetic when he told me they were out of cake pops that time. But the fact that I remember him specifically just proves the exception. The reason I felt moved to write this review was that this morning I was in my car, bright and early to go take care of a friend's pet, and I swung by for a drink. Even with no makeup, bed-head and wearing the kind of crappy clothes that I don't want anyone to see me in (you know the ones: holes, worn thru in places, faded, but perfectly broken in so impossible to replace); this barista flirted with me. Enough to make me laugh. And believe me, it wasn't because of the massive tip! I admire the indiscriminate flirting and his bravery at taking me on looking the way I did and pre-coffee, so props to you, Mr. Drive-Thru-Barista. You made my morning! read more

FAV SB EVER! Mostly because a) by my house b) drivethrough. You who know me know I do not actually dress to go to SB (or Marshalls for that matter) but much to prefer to not even realize I have left my bed until I have taken my first lovely sip. But anywheys..... they have a QUESTION OF THE DAY and sometimes they run out of candy and even then they find you a good present. They also have dog of the week who gets to be star on the window, I only have a hamster but I can make up some stats for her and have her apply to be on the window (fav food= chips, fav thing to do= bite unsuspecting people really hard until they bleed) They people are actually funny and a bit creepy when they tell you they can see you through the drive through intercom (something we all tend to forget, so try and look pretty for them). Interesting trip though the Starbucks Drive thru today. I attempted to order a flourless chocolate cookie, and instead, received a "flower" shortbread cookie. Upon opening the bag and grabbing the cookie, I realized that the barista had not understood my order. I explained the mixup, and she informed me that I had received the last "flower" cookie, and that they were unfortunately out of the flourless variety. Not wanting what I received, I returned the bag and cookie back to her. After pulling out of the drive thru lane I realized that I didn't receive the water that I had ordered, so I decided to pop inside and pick it up. While I was waiting in line, I noticed that the cookie I had returned (and touched) was being pulled out of the bag and placed back into the case for purchase. It looks as though these Starbucks employees could use a refresher course from the King County Health Department. read more
