This location was horrific! Since we were in the area, I decided it would be a great idea to grab hot cocoa before the three hour drive to bar harbor. I didn't know that 3 hour commute would turn into four. We legit was in line for 45 mins. At the beginning I went in to check out their cups, it was extremely busy in the inside, so I figured the drive through would be quicker. WRONG!! It was very inconvenient. Stopped in after my workout. Nice ice coffee for me and a take out for a friend. Conveniently located across for the Maine Mall,due to the stop light. Parking spaces are available eat and around the location. It is probably a busy location with the drive thru. But also the business and hotels near by should keep it busy. Seems like a place to hang to get work done, which is what most people around me are doing. They have a large table and two seater tables with four lounge like chairs. Could use a floor cleaning and updates, with furniture and seating placement. but the tables are all spotless! I like that. The front barista was very nice and took my order. Ordered my iced coffee and banana bread warmed. She actually brought it to me at my table. Very cool. Never had that happen at any Starbucks. Thank you. Update: Ordered my friends Americano to go. The first cup seemed a bit cold. So, asked if I could get it heated up. The manager, offered to remake it. Which was a nice gesture. While waiting for the coffee, the manager came up to me and handed me a gift card saying I shouldn't have to wait for a 2nd cup. That was very sweet, at the time did not seem needed, but a great gesture and I commend the manager for his actions. Thank you Starbucks I'm upping the stars to five stars now. read more

I've had some varied experiences here. I'm still not sure what the best way to order from this particular Starbucks is: through the app ahead of time, in the drive-thru, or in person. The one time I did it through the app, my drink was completely wrong but the line was out the door so I didn't have the time/patience to tell them. The drive-thru (which is the usual way I order from her) always takes agggggggges. But the last time I came in person was *exceptional*! I ordered a venti iced coffee no classic with the lightest splash of soy milk they could offer. When my drink was ready the barista, instead of just putting it on the counter and shouting my name, called me over. As she handed me my drink she asked me if the color looked right and if I wanted more soy milk, because they really did just try to do a splash. Honestly? It was the best Starbucks iced coffee (no classic) I've ever had. Will I be able to recreate it here? Other Starbucks? I do not know (but a splash doesn't mean ¼ to 1/2 inch of creamer!). read more

I have learned over the years of stepping into Starbucks that they are all cut from the same cloth and look pretty similar as a whole but there is a reason why I would rate this one with 4 stars and that is the service. Of all of the times that I have been here, they have never EVER botched an ordr that I have placed even the crazy confusing ones that my wife has me order for her with words like machiosos and frappatattacks. All kidding aside, this place is efficient, clean, and they are always working with a smile on their faces and are ready to take your order and service your needs however possible. I really do like the spacious roominess of this Starbucks that you probably would not get from just looking at it from the street. There is one long table littered with 8 chairs for patrons to sit at to get their caffiene rush or have a meeting as a group. Then there are 5-6 single tables with chairs along the wall and then there is a "couch" area with four softer chairs if you are sick of sitting on the hard chairs. As a side note, I have also been through the drive thru many times here and never had any issues no matter how busy they may be or whatever the scenario ... so, I will definitely be back here again if I need a jolt of joe or have a couple of work peeps that I need to meet up with for free Wi-Fi. One last thing that was pretty cool here is the fact that they are making a One Tree for Every bag commitment where the megachain is replacing trees with each bag purchased and is looks like they are on task to plant 5 million trees. As far as Starbucks locations go, this one is top notch for the greater Portland area. I believe this is owned/operated by the same team that also runs the one in the Running Hill Plaza, which is a close second on my list. As a chain, there is a certain level of consistency that you expect in the product that you get. What is sometimes lost is the consistency in the customer service. I'm a big fan of good customer service. This location excels at providing your beverage in a timely manner and with a smile, sometimes even a joke. read more

Compared to the Starbucks on Forest & Auburn, this one is MUCH roomier (roomier than the mall location too, but that's a given)! I took a chance on this location the other day after running some errands at the mall. Not only is the interior roomy, but there was plenty of parking out front as well. I'm attributing this to the lack of nearby schools and the proximity to 2 other Starbucks within a mile or two. Since I stopped by not long after they rolled out the online ordering system, I had to try it out! Unlike a few other locations in town, my drink was called out and left at the pickup area as opposed to me having to ask for it. Not saying it's good or bad, that's just how it went. They're cool about the gold card refills, done with no questions asked (Edit: apparently it's just coffee refills for coffee, and tea refills for tea...). Decorations are nice, tables are big, WiFi is fast, and it's not too busy as far as I can tell. It's a solid place to get some work done! read more

One of the better locations within the greater Portland area. I frequent this location quite a bit. I'm a nursing professor, and am forever grading paperwork, so when I need to get out of my house or switch up my location, I'll come here. They have a nice long table with plugs for laptops, and it's generally pretty low key in there enough that I am able to do some work. The staff are always friendly and greet me with a smile. My order is always correct and made quickly. The store (including the bathrooms) is very clean in general; the staff are always wiping down tables and sweeping. Workers were nice but I waited legitimately 25 minutes for one coffee in a relatively empty store and it came out wrong and very acidic. Also witnessed them make mistakes on numerous other drinks while I was waiting and had people send them back. I would've asked for a refund if I didn't have too much anxiety. Workers lacked hustle and seemed to be prioritizing the drive through even though I had been there almost half an hour. I have been to numerous Starbucks locations in the Portland and South Portland area and I like this one best. I always get my drink and treat at their drive thru section because the staff are professional, friendly, and did i say FAST? I'm serious, they really know how to keep the line moving at the drive thru. It's always nice to see them hand you your order at the window with a smile and courteous send off. Also, I don't have the starbucks rewards card, but they gave me a free treat for my birthday! I checked in on my birthday and told the guy taking my order that it was my birthday, but I wasn't expecting a free treat. At check out, I waited an extra five minutes for my chocolate croissant because I think they were conversing whether or not to give me the treat for free. This is my "usual" go-to Starbucks, (I say "usual" as I just moved to the area a few weeks ago), its conveniently located close to my work and my mobile order is always correct and ready by the time I get there, and while I haven't had any complaints up until today, I was thoroughly disappointed when I opened my breakfast and pulled out an outdated, moldy package of blueberries for my oatmeal :( Quality control needs to step up their game! All of the staff here seems absolutely lovely! I've always had my drinks made correctly and I've always had pleasant interactions with the employees here. My only complaint is that I think Starbucks as a company needs to hire more staff at this location. I frequently order from here on my phone, and even after doing so 30 minutes in advance, I'll still have to wait 5-10 minutes on top of that 30 minutes once arriving for my order to be completed. The drive-thru is also just chronically backed up so that's usually not an option. So in summary: great staff! Hire more of them! (: read more

Of all the Portland area Starbucks this one has the easiest parking and open seating for longer project sessions. The food and service are always accurate and great as you would expect. The atmosphere is also great, a newer location with modern design. Love spending time here. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks in the South Portland / Portland area. It's much, much better than the one inside the mall, which is basically a disaster. Everyone here is super nice, drive-thru service is speedy, and this location has more indoor seating than the one in the mall or either of the ones on Running Hill Road. When the first customer to walk in there started chatting up with the guy making drinks, I finally looked down and assumed the cup sitting on the counter was mine. To my amazement, the guy working there said "yeah that's your Chai right there". Really? When were you planning to tell me my drink is ready? I guess I'm supposed to assume and confirm, huh?
