The staff needs to improve on their customer service!! I have been a regular Gold reward customer and been at this store many times. Then suddenly today one staff refuses to give me refills after I just finished an espresso which bought there 10minutes ago. He said I had to get coffee beverage to be eligible to refill coffee, even if I showed him the website policy stating any beverage is ok for a refill on coffee/tea. He even insisted that the other staffs who gave me refills before shouldn't do the refill and they need to be punished. And he even asked his manager to cover him and stand at his side to confirm this is the store policy. However a call with customer service confirmed the policy on Starbucks' website, any beverage qualifies for a refill on iced/hot coffee/tea. Very Disappointing customer service! read more

By far the slowest Starbucks at filling out mobile orders. They average at 10-15 minutes to fill out a mobile order. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I love this particular Starbucks because the people are SOOO wonderful! I am greeted as soon as I enter and I feel like everyone there is a dear friend! The know their regulars by first name and I love that! They are always trying to go above and beyond for the customer. I only went to this location because the Santa Clara location was closed not sure if it's being remodeled. Anyway, I ordered from drive thru but forgot to say iced. Got to the window and I asked if its ok to change it to iced, she asked the barista and the barista just gave me this wth kind of look but changed it anyway. Not my favorite Starbucks. They're pretty friendly and all, but the atmosphere for working isn't great. It's small and has very limited seating. The drinks are standard, and the baristas have never made a mistake on my drinks here. But all in all, it's a typically Starbucks and it does have less of a crowd than the one near it by Lawrence and El Camino so that is a plus. read more

The best thing about this location is the drive thru, yippee! But I came here the other day to pick up my cinnamon dolce iced latte. What I really liked was the order and pay through the Starbucks app. I'm trying to get as many stars as I can during their special promotions and after using the app, I'll be likely using it again! I customomized less sugar/pumps/flavor, less ice, no whip cream and 1% milk. All at the touch of my phone, how convenient has ordering coffee become? Is this a fake Starbucks? From the outside to the poorly made drinks, it looks like an attempt at Starbucks but not quite making it. Does Starbucks not have training videos on cleaning? Lets start from walking through the door, bits of trash over the floor, could tell it had not been swept or mopped all day, you do get down times use that time for cleaning. Esther provided me with the customer service of a door. How hard is it to smile back when a person says please and smiles at you? The look I got instead was "die lady." They were overstaffed for the location and equipment provided, how about putting some of that staff to use cleaning instead of behind the counter running around like chickens with their heads cut off not knowing which drink goes where, though it did, provide comical relief watching their panic and chaos. The drinks, nothing like milk and ice, best part of these fraps the cream, topping was from a can, not fresh whip screw on top can which Starbucks is known for, I am talking off the supermarket refrigerator shelf nasty processed Ready Whip can. WTH?! If I had walked in from corporate, I would of shut this location down for the day and had a serious talk with management and staff on how we run our locations and arranged extensive training for everyone. This place is ok but management pushes and rushes everything and everybody. I would hate to work here.

It's cozy and usually not as crowded as some of the other Starbucks, and the people who work here are always super nice.

Okay, I am updating my review and chalking up the original extremely slow service in the drive-thru as growing pains for a new store. After about six months, this location really improved on their speed and efficiency, and I go to this particular location whenever I'm near home. The staff is always friendly, some make more small talk than others, but I don't mind either way...my order is usually completed quickly and I've not received an incorrect drink yet. read more

The employees at this Starbucks are so slow. There's no sense of urgency when it comes to making customers' orders, especially when there's a rush. I don't know if it's because you've hired new people for the holiday season or what not...but it'd be nice to see that you guys are actually trying to get people's orders in a timely manner. I am also happy to have another drive through starbux away from the busy busy one on lawrence. This one does have newer and less experienced staff so ironically it is slower. BUT overall 3.5 stars. Recently ordered a soy latte at the Starbucks in Sunnyvale Target. The barista told me soy was 60 cents more. Shocked, but wanting my latte, I paid it. Thinking it was a Target thing, I next went to the Starbucks at El Camino and Henderson for a soy latte. When I got my receipt, there was the 60 cents charge for soy, but not "informing me" beforehand. People need to know that soy costs extra, (but whipped cream doesn't). I wrote to Starbucks Customer Care concerning this saying that those with dairy allergies or sensitivities shouldn't be charged more and this is what they wrote to me: "I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Starbucks is committed to offering viable options for all of our valued customers; for this reason each of our retail locations is able to offer soy milk. Due to the higher cost of purchasing, stocking, and preparing this product, we do charge an additional fee for the substitution of soy milk. Starbucks greatly values customer feedback, so we have shared your concerns about this decision with specialists in our Retail Operations department for their attention. Additionally, I would like to invite you back for a better experience by sending you some coupons. I know this is not why you wrote us, but I recognize how frustrating this is. The coupons are good for any beverage, any size, anytime. If you reply to this email with your mailing address, I'll get them right out to you." Since their response did not satisfy me, I wrote this back, after the survey: "Thank you responding. Where I shop, soy doesn't cost more than milk. Plus soy has a longer shelf life than milk, and doesn't require refrigeration until it is opened. Therefore I don't see a stocking and storage problem. People with dairy allergies and sensitivities shouldn't have to pay extra to enjoy a coffee drink because they choose soy. This is tantamount to discriminating against someone with a special dietary requirement that costs a negligible amount more or less than what is already stocked and offered. With the logic, or argument, that soy is an option you are offering, then you (Starbucks) should also charge extra for milk, sweeteners, and whipped cream because coffee is complete without any additives, right?" I think this policy is ridiculous as well as discriminatory. I was ready to switch to Peet's Coffee, but see they charged extra for soy milk before Starbucks. See this FB post from Oct. 28, 2010: "Hey Peet's, quick question - why do you charge extra for soy milk in coffee drinks? I don't order soy in addition to milk? It's cheaper than milk and has a longer shelf life. I also get it free at Starbucks with a registered Starbucks card and Blue Bottle in SF doesn't charge extra for it at all. Thank you!" Has it changed, or does Peet's still charge extra for soy and Starbucks is playing catch up? Is there is no place to go that doesn't charge extra for something that costs less than or the same as milk? I can make my own at home, but not on the go. read more

Will not be returning to this location. I will make it a point to go out of my way to go to a different Starbucks. I used to come here all the time. Came here one time thru the drive thru and they messed up my drink not only did I pay 5 bucks for a latte I basically paid 5 bucks for a tall with a bunch of ice. I thought I would give it another shot so this time I went inside. Upon doing so I was told I couldn't get a venti in to a trenti.. when one I have gotten that way there before and 2 I get it that way all the time. Instead of arguing with the customer about how you "can't do it" and "your not supposed to" over a cup size just pour the venti size in to the trenti cup and add more ice. That's literally all I was asking for. So instead I got a grande in venti. The same thing right? read more

i just had to update my review. yes, it stayed as 5 stars. woohoo! let me tell you why i updated. this is the first year of my motherhood, and it's been tough getting my typical decaf nonfat latte or chai latte. but the drive-through has made my life easier. i loathe having to lug out my baby and his carseat to go into a cafe for a drink to come out in 15 mins. (sometimes sooner) now if this location sucked at the drinks, i definitely wouldn't come back. i'm not _that_ desperate. when starbucks first introduced customization of fraps, i couldn't believe it. this is what i've been waiting for SO long since i've discovered customization at peet's. i knew this was one feature that starbucks definitely couldn't beat. now they can compete again in my books although i still prefer peet's (too bad no drive-through! so you win, starbucks!). there's this particular barista that i don't want to describe here just in case he doesn't want to exposed. he customized my coffee frap to be non-fat, decaf, and less sweet! he thought of the formulation by himself to make it less sweet when i wanted it less sweet. you think that this would be easy for baristas to do, but not at starbucks. i've always felt that baristas were more automatons at starbucks since they always have to follow the corporate recipes. this guy must've had past experiences at independent cafes. he made mine perfect! he thought outside the box to satisfy my palate. i've never experienced this at starbucks before. it was refreshing! so ever since then, i've been going back. i don't know if i see the same barista, beause i don't think i hear him in the background. This is only Starbucks that need to improve customer services. Few times I went there I noticed that barrister didn't make my coffee til I asked again. I went last week. Horrible experience! She gave me the wrong bread and even when I showed her all the bags, I had to hand them back to her because she still didn't believe me. She acted like I was trying to steal a $ 3 pastry. And got my snickerdoodle hot chocolate completely wrong, the drink tasted like milk with cinnamon and nutmeg. Then I asked for the puppychino she forgot and if looks could kill ... I decided this one time to leave my dog home because he always barks really loudly into microphone and hurts everyone's ears. So, she hands me the whipcream and says Starbucks usually charges 60 cents when the dog isn't in the car but she'll let this go. However, this is the first time I've ever been told this. I should've gone to the other Starbucks on el camino, they might be busier but at least they're nice and get my order right. I usually get pretty good service! But the girl today that helped me yikes! I think she needed some coffee! She was very monotone. And she forgot about my sandiwch I waited over ten minutes for it. And this other barista that has been there for a while was rude when I asked her about my sandiwch. Oh well. I'll try and use the Starbucks down by Lawrence instead. read more

Here right now and we had 2 mistakes out of 4 drinks. My hot chocolate came with whipped cream even when we specifically said no whipped cream and instead of a Carmel macchiato we got steamed milk. They were courteous when changing the steamed milk but we were disapointed that they got things right only 50% of the time. Hope they trIn their employees better. I am not a coffee drinker, but I do collect coffee grounds for a local farm here in Sunnyvale for their compost piles. I have tried to get some sort of regular collect system set-up with different Starbucks in the Sunnyvale area, but haven't had much luck. However that has now changed! I am SO pleased with the manager and staff at the Starbucks at El Camino and Poplar. They do a great job of saving the grounds for me, and are always willing to carry them to my car if the bag is especially heavy. I really appreciate their customer service, and also their willingness to help out a local non-profit. read more
