Left: Banana Bread (2 pieces). Right: Pizza Bread.
Linh N.

Final Thoughts: 4.26/5 My friend introduced me to this place while we were waiting to get brunch at GIWA. Very cute and quaint little bakery here. I love my carbs and I love my breads, so this place is very up my alley. Food: Banana Bread: 4.3/5 This item comes with two pieces. The "banana" bread was super soft and moist. The flavor of banana is very prominent and fragrant when eating it. Very similar to Tokyo Banana or this banana pastry I tried in Thailand. Something I wish this pastry had was a filling. The whole time I thought it was going to be a filled pastry, but it wasn't. Not too big of a concern or anything because the flavor of the banana really came through and made it overall even without a cream. For the sweetness of the banana, I think it was just right. There is some sweetness to it, but it's not super sweet. What intrigued me the most was the shape of it. If anything going to look that cute, chances are, I'm going to buy it. They also have one that looks like a chestnut. Very cute, as well. Pizza Bread: 4.4/5 Pizza anything usually doesn't do my wrong. This bread was interesting in a sense that it had hot dogs in it too. Again, another food that usually doesn't do me wrong. The flavor of this hot dog is pretty standard to an American one versus a Korean one. That classic flavor is there. The bread is very soft and airy. Toppings work really well together. There's hot dog, cheese, corn, a chili drizzle sauce at the top, and a few other items on it. The chili sauce tastes similar to Sriracha. I prefer a sweeter chili sauce like Chin-su, but it still gave me that satisfying little kick. My one note is that it's a little messy to eat. I ended up just putting it out on a plate and cutting some pieces out as I eat. You also have the option to slide it to the top of the opening of the bag and just hold the bag, so your hands don't get covered in the sauce. My recommendation is to air fry or toast it a little bit. Definitely worth the wait. Menu: They mostly sell bakery pastries and breads, but they also have cakes and drinks available on their menu. The display case has some cakes that you can purchase and then there were drinks like a simple coffee or sweet potato latte. I would've definitely wanted to have that one if I weren't getting brunch right after. Notes: Their pastries are unique in a sense that they have some flavors and breads that I don't commonly see at other bakeries. This might be because they're a smaller bakery in general compared to places like 85 Degree Bakery or Paris Baguette. --------- Quality: Fresh I don't see these breads having the longest shelf life, so they should typically be baked, made, or delivered fresh, which is something I like. Especially for something like the breads I got, they have a lot of moisture in it. They don't have the moisture absorbent packet inside either, so most likely made and packaged pretty fresh. Price: Standard For a bread like that, it's standard for them to be about $2-4 each. This is very similar to the other bread places or bakeries. They also have large cakes for sale at around $30-$50 depending on what you get. I can't say those are cheap nor expensive. The size looks quite small too. Perhaps a 6 to 9 inch cake. For paying, they have a minimum of $8 if you wanted to pay with card. Otherwise, they will take the cash, as well. Service: Simple interaction Not much real "service" going on. There was just one cashier in the back and one barista working to make the drinks. They were very sweet though. Ambiance: Quaint The interior is very simple and has this warm cottagecore woodsy tone to it that I really like. It's very warm and cozy. Simple layout on the inside with the pastries laid out in the middle and side walls. There are tables that line the wall on the right side when you enter if you wanted to sit there and chill. This looks like a nice quiet place where I would go and study if I were still in school. Location/Parking: Will depend They do have a parking spot in the front and additional parking in the back area. Depending on the time and day that you go, you may or may not be able to find parking. Will also depend on your luck. The last time I was here, I was lucky enough to find parking, but this time, I couldn't find any parking. There is street parking available and a neighborhood around here, so that is an option as long as you make sure to read the posted signs ensure you're allowed to park there.

Quality/Quantity - Got here right when they opened at 8am. 3 ladies working hard to get out the products. But they still had a decent selection. Today my picks were: Walnut Scone - Not as dry as most other bakery scones, decent amount of walnuts. But it was messy and crumbs were everywhere. Mugwort Castella - Good, mostly. I especially like the cream in the middle. This is also messy and will get crumbs everywhere. Yesterday we had Mugwort Mochi, so I wanted to keep the theme going, lol. Atmosphere - Small local bakery. Some inside seating, see pictures. Plenty of mall parking. Be safe as there are warning signs to take your valuables with you... Also, they have additional parking in the rear of the building. Open 7 days a week from 8:30am to 9pm. As I write this review, I just noticed that I showed up half an hour early... Hence the team is still putting out the baked goods. I saw the door open and just walked in and they still took care of me. Service - Good. Price - $8, just made the $8 minimum for credit card use. LOL. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for over 20+ years...?

The bread was still warm when I got here on a Saturday morning, and all the breads were so fresh! Super easy parking, friendly service and really good prices too. Great quality and taste, and variety too. My favorites here are the croquette, red bean, and soboros. The mini banana shaped breads, castella and palmiers get a shoutout too since they're my childhood favorites.

I need to move to Korea based on how much I like their food, movies, culture...and add bakeries to the list. This is a small bakery with a lot of goodies. My fave was the simple but delicious bread filled with chocolate cream.

Very cute family business. Many ( like us) seem to be in the waiting list for GIWA next door and grabbing drinks or snacks. Everything is individually wrapped and looks yummy. Good quality.

Pretty okay baked goods here. They remind me a lot of the ones found at the bakery section of Korean grocery store Mega Mart in Sunnyvale. Soft and light bakery items here (a lot of them being sponge-cake-based) but most of the ones that I tried were leaning towards becoming stale. Felt particularly a bit bamboozled about the banana cake being simply a vanilla sponge cake that just so happens to be banana shaped lol. My favorite item in my haul though was the green bean bread because the green bean filling was satisfyingly super smooth. Very polite lady at the cashier. Easy lot parking. Overall if you want to support a small bakery in the area and are curious about what it offers I'd say it's worth a visit here.

Cute lil bakery section inside hankook supermarket. The sweet lady gave me an extra curry croquet bun with my purchase! The green bean bun, curry croquets, and milk bread was all yummy.

Not a good day for us.

We tried croquette, banana cake and red beam. Very underwhelmed. Croquette was dry and had weird sour taste. It was also dry. And I thought everything taste good when deep fried including shoe. Banana cake is missing Banana taste, it should be called yellow Banana shaped cake. Probably will not return. Your experience may vary with other items though.

Baker's Village is a small Korean bakery shop located along El Camino Koreatown that borders Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. Been coming out here for over four years serving the best Korean baked breads freshly made soft fluppy yet so sweet. The ones I chose are the soboro dougnuts with red bean fillings layer with peanuts crumb toppings, tea cookies, custard rolls and buns. In their display case they have array of green tea matcha rolls, chocolate and macaron. Their prices are very reasonable though they've gone up just to stayed competitive with exception of their drinks far cheaper had my iced coffee mocha for $4.95. The lady that runs this place is so sweet and always greet me in Korean and would give me an extra bun or bread. So please support your local business to celebrate May as Asian Pacific heritage month.

This Korean bakery right next to the Hartford brewery was a surprisingly good find. They have some really good offerings of sweet and savory items. Did go late evening so they were out of their popular freshly baked bread but still managed to get a great sponge cake and some freshly baked cookies. The lower prices are an added bonus!

This bakery used to sell the Korean twisted donuts but with a dusting of this yellow-ish powder on top of instead of sugar. It was the best thing I've ever tasted & I'm so sad I can't find it anymore. Does anyone know if they still have it here?

Can you buy loaves of bread or just pastries and other smaller items?

You can buy loaves of bread! They have them in the center stand.

Do they sell Red bean sesame balls?

They sell Sweet Rice Doughnuts (chewy donuts filled with red bean) on weekends.

Do they sell sweet potato cake slices so I can buy to taste it before buying a whole cake for a party? Is the cake sweet potato cake layers with sweet potato filling? How is it created/assembled? I’ve never had but heard about it so I’m curious.

How much are the round cakes and what cake flavors?

Is this bakery tree nut free?

This time I decided to stop by here after dinner, my first time sitting down here and ordering. The inside is very clean, modern, and Pinterest-like. They added more decorations and seating from 2 years ago, making the inside more aesthetic. whaT's More always has unique Asian flavors, like durian, earl grey, pandan, red bean, and oolong. The cakes are not too sweet, so definitely Asian parent approved haha! Unfortunately, when we came around 6:30pm, they were sold out of most flavors - so would definitely recommend coming earlier or just ordering online earlier in the morning for pickup. We got the sesame dark chocolate crepe cake. When you eat in the store, the owner provides you with free cups of tea, which are really great for washing down the cake. The chocolate was super rich, and they did not skimp out on the flavor - super chocolatey. The sesame added such a fun earthy and nutty flavor - I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cake is on the slightly denser side, so was super filling. While on the pricier side, the flavors are super unique and the craft that goes into crepe cakes is commendable. The place was situated in a quiet plaza just outside of Lawrence Expressway. There's ample parking but it doesn't feel like the location is suitable for a cafe where you can picture sitting inside looking through some big windows facing a busy pedestrian walkway. However, once I stepped inside, I was surprised at how zen and peaceful the decorations were and how fitting it was for a cozy and quiet cafe hangout. The cake shelf was surprisingly busy. And this is where I took one star out because the lines were confusing and the staff skipped me to talk to the group behind me while I was clearly the next to be helped. Luckily another staff member came out from the back kitchen and jumped in to help. The staff spoke fluent mandarin. I was interested in their box cakes. A few of the yelpers raved about their soy milk cake and luckily they had one out for sampling. It was covered with lots of cream and the cake layer was soft and moist, but it was still slightly too sweet for me and I felt that it lacked the tofu kind of soy flavor. Then, I spotted on their menu that they have a black sesame matcha box cake, and black sesame is always my favorite, so I asked for it. They had the last one left! The staff said she had never tried it so she couldn't tell me if it is less sweet than the soy milk cake. Since it was the last one available and I already sampled the soy cake, I decided to give it a try. I am happy that I did. The cake was filled with matcha mousse and tasted light and aromatic with the jasmine kind of matcha flavor. It is definitely less sweet. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as much black sesame as I'd like. But overall, the cake flavor is the kind that I like, subtle, moist, and not too sweet. $38 for a box cake of 4x4 is a bit pricey, but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The cakes were freshly made and tasted best the same day of purchase. They also recommend refrigerating the cake and consuming it within a day or two.
