The matcha ice cream is SO DELICIOUS. The fact that you're able to get different levels of based on strong you enjoy your matcha is just so awesome. But the quality as well is just amazing. The matcha is incredibly smooth and makes me want to get more than just a cup. They also had other flavors, not just matcha, by the pictures I took they also had ube ice cream which was also SO DELICIOUS. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted ube or matcha so I ended up getting both and it was the best decision ever. As other ice cream places, they allow you to try a sample before you buy which was a great experience. The shop is incredibly small though, with atleast 80% of it being seating for indoors. Having to wait in line was a hassle because of the kiosk that customers were taking forever ordering from. The line formed outside the building snd the area to wait was too cramped.
This is a small matcha-focused spot located amongst a larger aggregation of restaurants, cafes, and dessert cafes. Finding parking can be difficult when the area is busy, but it normally isn't too bad. The interior is clean and the space is small, with limited seating. After ordering on the tablet, I find that our drinks come out reasonably quickly. The highlights here are the matcha drinks and the various ice creams that they sell. Most of their menu comprises of variants of the two (with some additional drinks, desserts, and matcha powders as well). The main draw for me is the matcha, which is the central flavor and theme. I really love the massive variety of matcha drinks they offer; there are different creams, milks, purees, and matcha concentrations to suit a wide variety of palates. Their ice cream is also top-tier--the black sesame and osmanthus rice flavors are my personal favorite. Plus, if you come in just before closing, you get a small discount! The main issue I have with this spot is the pricing. Their drinks can rocket into the $8-$9 range (before tax and tip!), which can leave your bill at nearly $10 a drink! Though their matcha is good, it is hard to justify such a price when there are a litany of other matcha places that offer lower prices without a noticeable difference in quality. There is no WiFi access, and the bathroom is often out of order, which makes sitting down to study or relax a little bit harder. That said, I still won't count this spot out. I really do love the flavor of their matcha, and their ice cream is top tier (and more than worth it with the discount). I'd say give it a try, but be mindful of the prices.
The Matcha here is so good! I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the Matcha and the drinks. You order via a kiosk and there's a screen with an estimated time of how long the drinks will take. I went in on a Tuesday around 2pm and it was pretty busy. Our order took about 12 minutes, despite there only being two orders ahead. It looked like there was only two staff. I ordered the matcha with cookie butter cold foam. The sweetness was perfect for me and the drink was creamy and smooth, just how I like it. My husband got the brown sugar matcha and it was alright. Not as creamy but the matcha was strong and it had a good brown sugar taste but a bit too sweet despite the sugar adjustment. Overall I think this spot is worth the hype. I probably wouldn't be back on a weekend as the service was a little slow but the drinks were definitely good.
This is the second time I've been here. This time they have more flavors for drinks and gelato. I'm glad to see that they have Ube in the menu. I was debating if I should get a gelato like last time but I saw the Ube matcha latte so I made up my mind and chose that drink instead. I'm happy that I did 0% sugar as I can taste the matcha more. However, I feel like the Ube flavor can be improved on as its taste is hiding under the matcha flavor. My friend let me tried the triple matcha and that was sweet compared to my drink which is understandable as it's 80% sugar. I'll come back again next time and try it but with 0% sugar. The service was good as they're nice for us while we ask to try some gelato flavor. However I can't tell much about the ordering system as we did it through a kiosk. With the ambiance, it's good for hangouts as it gives casual vibes but sadly there's not a lot of seating spots as it's a small space which is a typical size for like a boba/dessert place.
I was excited try Matsu Matcha with so many matcha spots popping up in South Bay. We came by on a Saturday afternoon and luckily there wasn't much of a wait. I got an iced bayberry matcha while my partner opted for the peach yogurt drink. The bayberry matcha was nice but I thought it could have been creamier. Bayberry is one of my favorite fruits but somehow in the matcha, it was pretty grainy and didn't mix well. The peach yogurt drink was good - we got it 30% sweet so it was a tad bland but still refreshing. Overall not bad but I do wish the drinks were a bit better.
DoorDash order because I heard so many good things about their matcha. When I opened the menu, there are so many choices that I just don't know what to choose. Finally I decided on the Peach Rice Mochi Yogurt(Seasonal) just because it's seasonal! The drink was very good! I added matcha jelly at the bottom and it was a bit hard to suck it up with a thin straw. The drink had good yogurt flavor and a slight texture of rice mixed in. I also appreciate that the drink's texture remained consistent over the few hours I slowly sipped it. If only it would be less expensive then it would get a 5 star.
I love that you can try all the flavors of gelato. The hoijcha was nice and bold and sweet. Def made sure to get that and paired it with the milk- I forgot the name but it was refreshing and smooth. Paired together it was a delicious treat! Even the matcha drink were pretty darn good. Def will come back!
My daughter loooves matcha. Saw this place a couple weeks ago when we went for a Korean food nearby. Took my daughter yesterday to try this place. We ordered Mayberry matcha and one matcha with 50% sweetness. The one has the perfect sweetness at 50% but the Mayberry is still a little too sweet. The matcha taste is awesome, after mixing them together they blend well. They put so much ice in the cup, I feel that we only get 1/3 of the liquid that's trying to fill the gap between ice. It will also be nice to have the name of the gelato written in front of the gelato buckets.
Matsu Matcha has replaced the T% store in this plaza. Parking is only super difficult if the plaza is busy (which is usually during peak times) There wasn't a line out the door this time when i visited. You can order on their 2 kiosks or on the Snackpass app. It is cheaper to order in store for pickup. There's multiple types of gelato to choose from and latte drinks. There are a few levels of matcha concentration for gelato. Seasonal flavors are also offered. Green grape matcha gelato has a strong mascara taste that lingers even through the other flavors. Hokkaido milk tasted more like cheese but it might have been due to bring next to the cheesecake flavor. Hojicha was strong in the hojicha taste. All were creamy textured. The hojicha latte was more on the milkier side, but was prominent enough for hojicha taste. You can only adjust the sugar levels (0%-100%). Ice can't be adjusted and about half the cup was ice. Service was quick and friendly. They fulfilled orders fast with very little wait time. There's no working restroom at this time. Phone reception was spotty within the store as well. Hope to be back again for matcha gelato and drinks!
Be prepared for a long wait on weekends and during peak hours. Lots of parking as it's part of a big shopping complex. We came on a warm Saturday afternoon and the line was out the door! You order via a kiosk. After we put our order in for the guava matcha we waited about 10 minutes before our drink came out. The drink was well worth the wait! The perfect level of sweetness and the guava flavor was delicious! There is some indoor seating but it was full so we decided to take our drink to go. We will definitely keep coming back!
Woo hoo! First yelp review of the month! Got the chance to try this place on a warm day in the evening around 7 pm with a friend! This used to be Tea% but they have now remodeled the space and rebranded. I love what did with the interior; it has a zen atmosphere with the wooden furnishing. It was somewhat packed with people, but there are open tables about 8 whether for 2 people up to 4 people. You'll order through their self service kiosk and wait for either a text to pick up a drink or it will be delivered to your table if you ordered a dessert. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be complete since it was busy. I got their peach rice mochi yogurt since they didn't mango gelato available :( Though, I did enjoy the peach rice flavor since the texture was smooth and creamy. The flavors were great and a semi-sweet flavor. Refreshing and enjoyable experience!
Matsu Matcha has easily been one of my favorite matcha spots over the past year. The quality is always on point regardless of how busy they are, and the sweetness levels are perfectly balanced. I love that their matcha is a beautiful, vibrant green color, which really shows the care they put into preparing and whisking it. My go-to orders are the butter cookie matcha latte and the classic matcha latte. The only minor downside is that they occasionally run low on stock or sell out of certain specialty drinks. While the drinks are definitely worth the trip, the plaza itself is always incredibly busy. Finding a parking spot can be a bit of a challenge on the weekends, and you should expect to do a few loops around the lot before something opens up.

Matsu Matcha is located in a busy plaza along El Camino Real with a parking lot thats less than ideal especially on weekends. The interior is nicely updated in contrast to the rest of the buildings in the adjoining plaza. There is some indoor seating, claw machines, and a kiosk to self order near the window. The display case offers their icecream selection with various tea flavors and strengths of matcha. I have only tried one drink here and that was the guava matcha. I found the drink to be very comparable to academic's guava matcha but with more customizable options in term of sweetness level and ice. The guava foam is refreshing, sweet with a strong guava forward flavor. The taste is authentic and not artificial. The matcha itself is mild, earthy, and with little umami. I found the drink to be enjoyable and unique. I would recommend! Service was limited since you self order at the kiosk. The drinks took about 8-10 minutes since it was a busy Saturday afternoon. I can't attest for the icecream, but I would come back for the guava matcha! read more
COME HERE FOR THE GELATO! The gelato here is delicious and it's a perfect spot to have a sweet treat after dinner. We visited for a Saturday lunch a few weeks back and it was BUSY. Luckily the line moved quickly - they have two kiosks for ordering. They don't have the largest space; only a few tables are available and it can take a while for the takes to turnover. We ended up getting lucky and snagged one for 4 after our drinks came. First: the gelato! I ended up getting the Hojicha, Matcha, and Hokkaido. You can definitely tell they use high-grade matcha here; it was earthy and smooth without that harsh bitterness. I didn't think the extra surcharge for the premium "levels" was necessary, so I just went with the highest tier before the upcharge. The hojicha was also a standout (toasty + nutty!) and the hokkaido was incredibly rich and creamy. I'd go for all of these flavors again! On the other hand... I'd probably skip the drinks next time. One of my friends got the banana pudding creme brûlée with the biscoff on top and all of us agreed that the drink was not good at all. The creme brûlée on top ended up being burnt, which tainted the drink with a strong bitter flavor... so much so that we ended up taking it back. They were nice enough to offer a different drink to replace it, which we appreciated, but the drinks just didn't hit like the gelato did. read more

It was crowded when we arrived on a weekend afternoon. Parking in this lot is always a disaster, make sure to carpool if you come here. This place used to be T Percent and they still retained the interior. I decided to split a gelato cup with my partner. We had the yuzu cream and two different levels of matcha. I liked all of the flavors I had, glad to be able to try different matcha levels in the states. It was kind of expensive but was good quality! read more
I love it here!! It seriously never disappoints. I've brought a few friends and they've all loved it too. You have to try the milk, jasmine green tea, and matcha ice cream. Those are my favorites. I also got the matcha latte with double matcha and it was super rich and flavorful. If you like real matcha, you'll definitely enjoy it. I got it at 50% sweetness and it was perfect for me. read more
Back again after my initial visit and it's MUCH better! Stronger matcha taste today and the guava cream topper was chefs kiss! Came on a random Thursday afternoon with no crowds and it was very clean and quiet. Happy I gave it a second chance! read more

Matcha! matcha and more matcha! from drinks to ice cream all in flavors of matcha! this place took over a boba shop and it was sad to see it go but glad that this place took over. it's hard to find a good matcha place. i wanted to get their 7 levels of matcha chocolate but was really sad to know it wasn't offered just yet. so i'll be back for it! in the end i ended up with ordering a coconut matcha. even at 30% sweetness level it was a perfect blend of sweetness and so there was no complaints. the matcha was especially smooth and wasn't bitter like most places so that's good. there was only one kiosk machine that was working so the line was long. not sure why the second wasn't working. but you can order online through snackpass and pick up as well. so skip the line and order online if you don't want to wait. the seating area was pretty packed and it's small inside. so space is limited. parking is a bit of a nightmare. so you either have to park on the street side if you can't find parking and of course a lot of people don't know how to park their car so that's going to be a nightmare too. would i come back? yes! gelatos, parfaits and more matcha to try out. and the chocolate! read more

My friend is a food blogger on instagram, and she recommended Matsu Matcha after trying them out. This spot is so popular! There was a fast-moving line and the cafe was quite packed. I ordered two matchas because my back is big and my palate wanted to try two of their many matcha flavors. I decided on the cookie butter matcha and guava matcha. Anytime I ordered cookie butter anything, I know it's gonna be a dessert latte and probably on the sweeter side. With that in mind, it was pretty good since I ordered it less sweet. The guava matcha was also so yummy. The matcha umami taste is there and doesn't get overwhelmed by the extra flavorings. Their matcha is also super smooth! My friend ordered the gelato top blended matcha and also really liked it. I'll be back whenever I'm in town cos I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the matcha here. read more
The interior here is great--very modern with a Japanese-inspired aesthetic. They use a convenient tablet system for ordering, and they have a nice gelato display that showcases all their different flavors. My friend and I decided to stick with drinks this time. He ordered a **guava matcha**, while I went with the **cookie butter matcha**. We both agreed that mine was the winner! We found a table, sat down, and just enjoyed the atmosphere for a bit. Since we ordered via tablet and just picked up our drinks when they were called, I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but the process was smooth. Matcha Matsu is a nice spot to check out. The place itself is clean and well-kept, which made it feel comfortable to sit and enjoy the drinks. We got the matcha with cheese cream and the banana cream matcha. Both drinks were good and the matcha tasted smooth and well prepared. The cheese cream added a slightly salty and creamy layer on top, while the banana cream matcha had a light sweetness that paired nicely with the matcha without being too overpowering. The worker was really sweet, which made the experience stand out even more. I asked for his opinion on what to get, and he was super helpful. He even let me sample the ice cream, which I appreciated since I was curious to try it but didn't want to order a whole one. Personally, while the drinks were good, I don't think they're fully worth the price, but it's still a nice place to try at least once. read more
Matsu Matcha was a great find for us. They specialize in all things matcha. My detective skills tell me that they have 2 locations, both located near Korean shops. They serve both drinks and ice cream. My wife liked her ube matcha. I liked my drink so much that I forgot what I ordered. I liked visiting this shop. I will have visit them again when going up north for work and order something again that I can't remember. read more

Matsu Matcha is my new go-to spot for matcha. The intense matcha is superb!! It's got a beautiful lush, dark emerald color, accompanied by this earthy, deep rich complex flavor, rather than the milky, overly sweet, flat taste that most matcha stores seem to have. Another flavor that stood out to me was their black sesame. Rich, nutty, full flavor that reminded me of the black sesame ice cream usually only found in Asia. Matsu Matcha is the top matcha spot in town. Like other reviews on this store, minus 1 star due to inaccurate and long wait time on their display board. If they can improve their queue times, this is a definite 5 star! read more
The store set up was pretty much the same as the previous drink shop, except with the gelato bar added in. I was able to get the attention of one of the worker while I was in line for the self-order kiosk, and he let us sample 1 gelato flavor (per person). Gelato we ended up ordering: - Black sesame: it was very sweet, but it also tastes very sesame-y, so I loved it - Osmanthus: subtly sweet, so it doesn't pair that well with the black sesame because it would get overpowered; however, I really liked it. - Jasmine matcha : it was good, but not amazing/memorable. I'd say it's skippable. What could be better: allowing us to sample more than 1 gelato flavor. If they can't afford to offer unlimited samples, then at least allow us to try 2 flavors (or charge 10 cents for additional sampling like some shops in SoCal were doing). It doesn't even need to be a whole spoon. Just a tiny bite would help. We ended up having to yolo the flavors anyway. They do have a lot more gelato flavors compared to other matcha-gelato shops, so it'd make sense for them to offer sampling. read more
Timing is everything when you come to visit Matsu Matcha. I went here on a Sunday, right when they opened and was the second person in the shop. Since the shop opens right at 11:30am, this is the best time to go. 10-15 mins after placing my order the place had a rush of people lining up at the door. You place your order on the self order tablet. I like that they have the popular items first. I ordered the matcha latte with a scoop of gelato. I am so glad I lowered the sweetness of the drink bc I did like the taste of the gelato I think it was the uji matcha flavor I picked. It was a great combo! My only thing is that I wish it came in a bigger cup. I also ordered the cookie butter matcha with 50% sweetness. I wish I had ordered the matcha with 30% sweetness or 0 sweet so that I could enjoy the cookie butter foam on top. Overall great experience. I've only tried the seasonal avocado matcha smoothie with oat popping boba. I wasn't able to customize the drink, but found it to be quite pleasant and simple. The texture/taste of the oat popping boba rivals Shu Shia and is better than Nai Snow. You order at a kiosk, and they call out your drink number & text your number when your drink is ready, seemed pretty efficient. There's a decent amount of seating given how small the store is and plenty of parking in the lot, and the store seemed clean. I would come back to try their other stuff read more
One of my recent fave matcha spots! I've had the banana matcha crème brûlée and the matcha with gelato. The banana matcha was great, the matcha flavor is strong and consistent and it pairs nicely with the sweet banana cream top. I do think the star of the show is the gelato though. They have several levels of matcha gelato, but my favorite has to be #2 jasmine matcha. It's so delicious and floral I can't get enough! The matcha gelato float comes in one size and has a lot of ice but it's such a treat! Parking in this plaza can be hard to find as it's a popular plaza. Ordering is simple and easy on a large screen and there's a few tables inside to sit at. read more
A nice place to get a fun matcha drink or gelato. Lots of different matcha combinations available like coconut matcha or cookie butter matcha. Service is pretty fast even if there is a wait. No wifi available inside, so it's more of a place just to hangout with friends. Pro tip: they have discounts on the gelato at night time close to closing! read more

This place is a bit far from me but it's my go-to for guava match. They have the best guava matcha in my opinion. The banana matcha is also very tasty. The shop is a bit older but the drinks make it worth it. There's usually a long line since there's only one kiosk and drinks take a while to make. I recommend ordering ahead on Snackpass or Doordash. read more
This location used to be called T% and they had one of the best drinkable mochi drinks in South Bay. This is my first time coming back since they changed storefronts. Their interior has been mostly changed to fit the matcha decor and there seems to be more seating. As for their items, I'm happy to say, they still offer drinkable mochi as a topping for their items, even though their main focus is now matcha. Their parfait was our favorite item. We devoured it like nothing. I definitely enjoyed the middle toppings in between each layer. read more
