Ube and Grape Matcha ice cream
    Lianna M.

I was really excited to try one of these dessert shops that have the levels of matcha ice cream! It was also nice that there was a discount towards closing. Got the seasonal grape matcha and ube ice cream. Super creamy and they loaded up the cone with so much ice cream! Service was very nice, and the worker that helped us was super chill with us trying different flavors. Cute ambiance inside with a lot of seating!

Lychee matcha and matcha ice blended Lychee matcha: Strong lychee flavor, refreshing matcha ice blended: Strong matcha flavor with extra texture from the mochi The service is quick and efficient with friendly staff. The place itself is very warmly lit and a good 3rd space to sit and chat.

Heard good things about Matsu Matcha and had to swing by when I was in the area. I went with the Triple Matcha. The earthy, grassy matcha flavor came through loud and clear, just as expected. I also ordered the ultra rich matcha gelato, because if you're already getting matcha, why stop at one? This one takes it up one level. Definitely one for the matcha lovers. There's also plenty of seating inside, with a warm wood-heavy interior that makes the space feel welcoming and cozy.

    Matcha Latte + Hojicha Gelato

The matcha latte is refreshing, and the hojicha gelato is creamy and delicious, with a rich, intense tea flavor. The place is beautifully decorated with Japanese-style bamboo, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The lady working there is friendly and smiling. I would definitely recommend this place!

    Offering 5 levels of matcha

Daydreaming about their matcha. Such a cool cafe offering different levels of matcha intensity & not to mention their selection on matcha gelato. They really live up to their hype! Hardly any contact with the staff since ordering is at the kiosk. Once order is ready the staff calls out your number and drinks are placed at the counter for pick-up. A little nice shop with ample of parking spaces. It can get a bit crowded inside depending on the hour of the day you go. We went slightly after they had just opened maybe 30 mins in and it worked out for us, while waiting I am noticing people are lining up already. Nonetheless definitely will return in the near future.

    #4 matcha with hokkaido
    Sam S.

Loooove their ice cream! I always find myself coming back here on Sundays. Their Hokkaido flavor is my absolute favorite--it has this subtle hint of cheese that I couldn't explain! The #4 Matcha is so perfect--just the right amount of grassiness and that deep, delicious umami flavor. And their Ube?! Somehow, it's even better than any Filipino ice cream I've had, ngl. Definitely one of my favorite ice cream spots!

Solid dessert stop in the South Bay. Not a lot of seating (~20 people for the whole store) and orders come out pretty quick. Decently-sized menu for drinks and gelato. Lots of gelato flavors to choose from -- was cool to see less common flavors like osmanthus fermented rice! All asian flavors too. We got two scoops in a cone: the extra rich matcha and hojicha. Solid gelato that was pretty creamy and both matcha and hojicha flavors were strong.

8/24/2026 Monday Recommend flavor: black sesame I am not a big matcha person but was looking for a new ice cream shop and came across this one online. Went there on Sunday and ordered their ube and black sesame. The black sesame has a concentrated flavor that trumped the ube at the end. I love the black sesame so much I returned next day just to get another one. They let you try their ice cream before ordering. I tried the mid level matcha (they have 5 levels and the higher the level the more bitter it is according to the person behind the counter) and it just didn't hit my taste bud.

My sister wanted to go here and it was my first time! I loved the huge selection of matcha ice creams based on its level / richness. My sister for the level 4 - Uji matcha, and I got level 2, the Jasmine tea matcha! Definitely will be back to try the drinks or the other matcha levels!

Saw this place on TikTok and was excited to try! They have a 10% off discount on the last hour discount on gelato. There's a good amount of seating inside. Parking in this plaza sucks so be aware.

    Ube & Hojicha Gelato

Perfect for matcha lovers! Matsu has a variety of strength levels & flavors for both their drinks & their gelato. Parking / vibe: lots of parking as Matsu is in a plaza with many other businesses. They have an alright amount of seating inside but it can get packed pretty quick. Very clean & organized, though. Drinks / Gelato: as someone who LOVES strong matcha, this is the perfect spot. We tried the triple matcha & banana pudding matcha einspanner which were both great. We also got tried their ube, black sesame, ultra rich matcha, & hojicha gelato. My top 2 had to be the triple matcha & black sesame gelato but honestly enjoyed everything.

Hojicha Latte ($6.65), Strawberry Cheesecake & Hojicha gelato ($8.25)
    Evonne C.

[Food/Drinks] - Gelato in cup ($8.25): Can choose up to 3 flavors, but I choose Strawberry Cheesecake & Hojicha. Both were really good and helped balanced each other out as the Strawberry Cheesecake gelato was a tad sweet. - Hojicha Latte ($6.65): Pretty good, although I think next time I would increase the sweetness a bit. [Service] - Order via kiosk and pick up your order once you see your order # on the screen or when the staff calls your name [Overall] - Would come back again for the gelato!

    Matcha Einspänner
    Esther T.

I tried the matcha einspanner and the gelato over matcha and they were so deep and rich. The matcha flavor was strong and not too sweet, just the way I like it. You order on a kiosk and it comes out pretty fast. There was plenty of seating and the overall vibe was earthy and relaxed. Definitely my new go to for matcha if I'm in the area!

Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. It's a popular spot, and I can see why--the menu features many different bingsoo options alongside other desserts, and they're all very beautiful and cute. There's also free WiFi and bathroom access. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.

I chose to do a DIY regular taco with s'mores ice cream, peanut butter dip, and oreo toppings. The flavors mixed so well together! None of it was overpowering the other, so you're able to enjoy each bite and not feel overloaded by the end. They freeze dry the taco as well so it doesn't melt right away once it hits your hands. This is the perfect place to grab a sweet treat on any occasion! BIG heads up though, it can get extremely busy especially on a weekend (was here on a Sunday evening). I think we went on a day where they might've been short a few people, but we did wait over an hour for our order. From my observations there is a process for the tacos. They have to mold the ice cream in, then keep it in the freezer for a few minutes for it to hold its shape, and customize it after. If you're willing to wait that long for ice cream then I'd say this place is definitely worth it.

Also ordered an Americano and a Banana cream latte with almond milk. Thankfully there were plenty of seating as the first half morning rush already left, but by 12pm seating became sparse. The matcha croissant outside is white chocolate with matcha powder i believe, very sweet, not a huge fan of white chocolate. Inside there is chocolate which is nice, it's a nice crossiant tho and the signs say they use french butter and chocolate. The crossiant cube was delicious as always. The coffee was okay,,, the banana cream latte is better after all the cream as mixed into the espresso. I enjoyed my smoked salmon avocado toast, they give u plenty of smoked salmon and salad, the huge tomatoes on the burrato avocado toast is very tasty, they sprinkles olive oil and pepper on top i believe. Overall pretty nice brunch everything was just under $80 which is a bit steep for brunch but this place really has the most variety pastries in one place and tho coffee isn't the best but at least they have the option as well.
