Ordered a venti strawberry smoothie with extra protein and BLENDED oatmeal today at 5:34 pm And got a venti cup with shredded ice and oatmeal that appears to have been poured into the smoothie. Not blended. Why would you pour whole oatmeal in a smoothie???? Why!!!!!! If I wasn't on my way to work I would of gone back. Worst smoothie I have ever had. 7 dollars of ice and oatmeal straight to the trash. Good location such crappy baristas. I was excited to see this place finally open, however I am very disappointed... the staff is extremely inexperienced took forever to have our order completed and when we finally got it, I must honestly say it was the worst salted caramel frap I've ever had. Looked gross and tasted gross. You would think they would be staffed properly for a new location opening.Also they are mostly kids working here and are not the happiest or friendliest bunch. They do not speak very clearly in the drive thru. It makes for difficult ordering. Very sad I will not be returning here. read more

I will start with the good news and why I am giving 2 stars. Soooo happy there is FINALLY a Starbucks here in Sylmar and 5 minutes from my house. I swore we were the only town without at least 1. And luckily it has a drive thru. Now the bad, I have been to this location 4x now. Last Saturday was my only good experience. No problem then but the 2x before I had issues. The first time i came, I went through the drive thru. They were out of the very berry hibiscus and the line was long. Next time I came, the line was long, so I went inside. The guy said it would take 25 minutes for my Frappuccino. For those of you who frequent other Starbucks know that this is way too long for 1 drink. Today I went inside again since the drive thru line went out to the street. I should've turned around and driven to Granada Hills when I saw the crowd of people waiting to pick up their drinks. 20 minutes later, I received my drinks but they said they were out of stoppers and they were also out of Caramel Brulee. Please get it together Starbucks! I have such high hopes for you. read more

THE WORST STARBUCKS EVER!!!! I was so excited that this Starbucks was so close to my house and I did not have to drive to San Fernando for my morning coffee. However, it completely sucks! My order is wrong almost 8 times out of 10. I pay almost 6 bucks for a frappacino that taste like pure black coffee with no sweetener. Whenever I order a hot coffee and ask for it extra hot its barely lukewarm and tastes horrible. I rather go to 7-11! They've been open for months so there are no excuses. Definitely will be driving to San Fernando or even Mission Hills where I wont be disappointed so early in the morning. read more

I don't like writing bad reviews but last week I had what was a terrible experience. I order two drinks a grande ice caramel macchiato with almond milk with ex.caramel and a venti passion iced tea with lemonade. I asked if I can reload my Starbucks card to use the points I had gained over time the cashier must have not understood me so she charged the drinks to my card when I asked to used my app she looked surprised and said she would cancel the order and try again, she entered the drinks into the system and charge me $10 then tried to add it to the Starbucks app this second transaction she got my order wrong. I then corrected her and the third time I was lost how she would charge me if she now used my card and my phone app and I didn't want to enter my card a third time she must have lost herself by helping another person at the next register when she came back she asked me for my order AGAIN? Then she charged me AGAIN! I asked for the last two receipts cause I at this point didn't know what the hell she did I waited for my order and waited and waited and waited I got my drinks and left. the next day I checked my account and was charged a total of 3 Times for 3 different amounts. So when the girl at the register said she would cancel my order she never did I assume my order was made three times and someone else got my drinks I had paid for. The next day I had to go back to ask for a refund the girl that helped and rudely said "I don't know what's going on but I'll refund you $8 since the Customer is Always Right! I'm not sure it will work but here's your receipt" It was not even the correct amount and it was rude to say that. When we got the news that there would be a new Starbucks closer to home than the one on Truman, we were beyond excited. Today was my third visit and somehow, they never seem to do a decent job. Our first impression wasn't the best, we had asked for a banana loaf bread, and somehow the cashier gave us a pumpkin loaf bread instead. We hadn't noticed until we got home since we were only doing a coffee run for someone else. The second time, our order was correct but we waited a long time to even receive them. And lastly today, the drive thru cashier was being a bit difficult. When we asked for "a pumpkin loaf bread" the girl kept saying "pumpkin muffin?" And when we gave up yelling "pumpkin loaf bread" we said "pumpkin bread" and she said "a pumpkin loaf bread?" sarcastically. Later, while paying since we had two orders, she kept getting our change mixed up and got flustered and shouted at her coworkers "can someone just take the next order." And continued to give us attitude. There is no need to have rude people working with customers. After reading others reviews, seems like we all have the same issue, let's hope they can fix their problem before they lose their customers. read more

I live in Sylmar and was excited to have a Starbucks open. Worst one I've ever visited (for the last time). No supplies so without the green stopper, it will spill in your car. We're 'out of those'...for 3 months?? My peppermint latte today was a hot drink of peppermint extract, that's it. So strong you can't taste anything else. I don't do lots of reviews unless they're horrible or Amazing. This one is Amazing! I drive in from the San Gabriel Valley every morning to drop off the wife at work and we either stop before we drop her off or I come in after, but we're blessed to have an amazing Barista named Jackie greet us or I almost daily with a smile and amazing customer service and coffee making expertise like no other Barista we've EVER had. Her smile and energy lights up the room like no other and is ALWAYS on top of her skill. She'll repeat our order at least once to make sure she NEVER gets our orders wrong. She knows the products and you can tell she loves what she does there. Outside of work she must be a joy to know with her family and friends and we're just glad she takes care of us daily. Yes I must agree this is the most awful starbucks ever I always order the simplest drink and they always mess it up!!! They are rude don't get drinks right and always always give attitude!!! This Starbucks need to be shut down! The staff is rude, can't even make a simple drink properly and when brought to their attention they become combative, the place is dirty and they are always out of half of the products they advertise. This is the worse Starbucks anywhere. Obviously, this is a reflection of poor management and lack of employee's training and supervision. Even McDonald's offers courteous service. Starbucks prices are not cheap. They need to get their act together or those of us who love Starbucks won't be patronizing this particular location anymore. Out of the 7 times I have come to this Starbucks not once have I had a good experience. They are always very slow which I don't understand how because there are always at least 5 employees behind the counter. Today I came in and ordered a caramel frappe with coconut milk because I'm lactose intolerant. As I watched there employee making it I noticed she looked at the label for about 2 seconds and starts making my drink. I continue watching her and I see that she has the regular milk they use NOT my coconut milk like I asked. I continue to watch because I think we'll maybe that's someone else's drink. Nope they call my name and there's my drink. On top of that they didn't add any caramel to my cup or to the top of the whipped cream! Seriously? How hard is it to read a simple label and get someone's order right? It's your job do it right! read more

Terrible grand opening.....I can't believe how disorganized this Starbucks is. I went there expecting excellent service. I was told that ordering a frappucino would take way too long (I appreciate knowing that but I was surprised that for the grand opening they didn't have best service possible). Then, I said I'd like to order a very berry hibiscus .....but they told me that they were out of it(I was thinking, "wow this is your grand opening? ") Also, there were no phone charging stations available which annoyed me because at least I could've charged my phone while I was waiting. I'm disappointed. Heads up Starbucks: Get a new manager or get this one trained. I appreciate having this Starbucks near my house, but it seems they need a more mature staff to handle the workload....it's a very busy place. I won't give up yet. I'll be coming back in about a month to see if there is some improvement. read more

This morning was the worst experience I have had at this location. I order my drink without foam. I get my drink and noticed the lip of the cup was bent down and the top didn't sit properly, so the top comes off. Good thing too, as my drink had foam in it. I give it back to have foam removed. I receive it back and go to put it in my cup holder when the top comes off again (because of the lip of the cup). I let the girl know - thinking common sense she would pour in another cup. She steps away and comes back, i ask her if it's the same cup. I tell her about the lip of the cup and it's not sitting properly and she asks if I want it double cupped, at this point I'm ready to go but again the top comes off and coffee is spilling all over my car. I'm irritated at this point - I tell her I want it in another cup and she says "you want it in another cup" and I tell her yes. I try not to be that customer - the one you are just thinking OMG, but for petes sake use common sense. read more

I've made excuses for this Starbucks many times. They're fairly new, they're always busy and that has to bring about a lot of pressure for the people working inside. But today I refuse to make anymore excuses. After ordering my drink and it arriving at the bar, I noticed that it didn't have coconut milk printed on the ticket like I had asked. I understand it is busy and sometimes things like this are overlooked, so I simply told the barista that there had been a mistake. She was so incredibly rude about it all, saying "Well you're going to have to get back in line and pay for it, because you didn't pay for coconut milk." I explained to her that I had asked for it originally to which she had the same reply. I'm sorry that your fellow employee made a mistake, I'll pay the damn 60 cents but could you fix your attitude? It was completely uncalled for. And to top it off... they were out of coconut milk. So I got my refund and left. I don't care how convenient this location is, I won't be going back. read more

Since this is the only Starbucks in sylmar I find myself giving money away to an undeserving staff once again. I came in around noon to redeem a free drink. When I arrived there was a small line consisting of three people. I browsed through their products and noticed a few people walking in to the store. I instantly got in line, there were four people ahead of me. I counted eight employees behind the counter. Yet my wait time in line seemed endless. For some reason there was only one person cashiering, with a line of 8-10 people... The other seven employees seem to be confused and miserable as they slowly spaz out to make a simple drink. The cashier finds it appropriate to start a conversation with an employee who's not on the clock, while this long line is getting longer. I finally place my order which I had to repeat several times... I waited over 10 minutes for my drink, and of course it comes out with whipped cream. As a vegan, I was pretty annoyed that they put a dairy product over an iced soy drink. Gross! My boyfriend explained to the barista that I don't consume dairy and politely asked him to remake the drink. He glared over at me as he dumped the drink out and muttered something to his coworker that made her giggle. I couldn't believe what just happened. He got angry at me for being incompetent at his own job! Of course he continued to make other drinks instead of remaking mine. He probably made 7-10 drinks before he finally decided to do his job right this time!! I don't know who runs this place and who is in charge of hiring, but there is not a single thing going good for this place. The employees are rude, apathetic, uncaring, slow, and too immature to even hold a job. You can just tell they are highschool kids who don't know a thing about customer service. They should send all the staff here to spend a week at the Starbucks in CityWalk so they can learn how to do their job fast and the right way! read more

This Starbucks needs a course in customer service. I have been coming to this Starbucks for a couple of months since they've opened and I only experienced good customer service one time. It has taken a long time to get my coffee through drive-thru multiple times when the line is empty and my drinks have been wrong a couple of times. At first I thought it was because it was new and they were still trying to figure out the glitches. However, the more I have kept going there, the more I realized the customer service is bad. The baristas I have encountered are rude and have attitude. I once asked for a splash stick and the response was, "I don't have any, I can give you a straw, that's the best I can do" accompanied with a mad look. There was no, sorry but we don't have any or something of that nature. I find myself going to Sunland's Starbucks for a coffee run (or when I'm on my way to work) which is a 10 minute drive rather than a 1 minute drive to this Starbucks just because the customer service here is horrible. Something needs to be done to keep customers coming back because the way things are going seems like this Starbucks is losing out on satisfied customers. read more
