Great location if you're stuck in rush hour headed home! It's like a mini oasis in the concrete jungle. The staff was very accommodating and made great recommendations. I like the interior as it affords a relaxed atmosphere with simple but elegant decor. Upbeat music plays in the background to put you in a great mood. One more semi average but corporatish Starbucks on my list of shame. Places I have been that I don't want you to know about. Starbucks makes a decent latte with caramel sauce mixed in. They make coffee with a nasty aftertaste that ussually smells or tastes burnt. Also, much like Walmart and Bill Gates they are corporate whores and will do anything for your money. read more

Although this Starbucks is close to my house, we usually don't go to it unless we're headed out of town as it is located very close to the I-64 ramps. The Starbucks itself is normally kept very clean on the inside (and out for the most part) which seems to be a staple of even the most mediocre Starbucks. My experiences with the staff have proven that they are very kind and I don't think I can recall a time where I've ever gotten any attitude. The issue, unfortunately, is the quality of their work. I have had my drink made wrong here more than any cafe I've been to in the past. Trust me, I'm not one of those guys who's drink order is a paragraph of babble. I keep it simple. Other than that, the builders either didn't think this location would be successful, or they didn't acquire enough land. This location has a HORRID parking area and not enough space for their drive thru which is always crammed. That alone is enough to make you want to wait for the next Starbucks you see. All in all, we'll continue to come albeit sparingly. read more

Ugh!!!! I hate to be negative Nancy but this location is totally a hit or miss so beware!!!! Your drink may be good or it may be the wrong order all together! This location is usually a last resort. If you're getting a cold drink your generally ok, but just beware and don't leave without checking your order! read more

Definitely my go-to drive thru Starbucks. This place is also sit in however, the parking here is pretty tight so it's been a while I actually ordered in (*flashback to the time I almost hit a car backing up*) lol. Anyways, I can't help but to give this Starbucks a solid five stars because the staff is consistently warm and friendly while being efficient. And yes, my drink is always good. But I truly mean it when I say the staff is consistently friendly. Even when the drive thru line is long, it doesn't change how they interact with you and I've definitely had my share fair of visits since this Starbucks is right beside the church my family goes to, my former job, and it's right of the highway which I take to go to school. read more

I'm not here to complain about their coffee's dark roasting, prices, or the corporate culture/lack of local vibe, yadda, yadda, yadda. I'm pretty sure everyone in America knows what to expect from Starbucks. If you hate it so much, Hampton Roads, why not put up some Bikini Barista stands, like in the Pacific Northwest? Seriously, though, it's a Starbucks. My problem with this specific place is that they get my orders wrong a solid one-third of the time. I've gotten wrong sizes, unmixed teas, out-of-whack Americanos, and seen baristas leaning on the wall by the drive-thru window, shooting the breeze, while their teammates get overwhelmed by 3 walk-in customers. At least they weren't bickering and arguing like another time I was there. That being said, Peggy always makes my day with her awesome enthusiasm and hilarious, clever, rhyming greetings. Things are way better when she's there. I still go out of my way to the Providence Road store, though. They make my drinks perfectly every time and each and every barista there is friendly and professional. read more

I don't usually go to this Starbucks, but I needed a caffeine fix before getting on the the interstate. The woman on the speaker was incredibly nice. When I got to the drive through window, she saw that I had my pup with me and insisted she have a puppy latte, too. She was so friendly and happy (and loved my dog), it made our experience exceptional. My cold brew was just perfect, too. read more

This location really can't read a recipe. I order the same thing over and over. Every other Starbucks gets it right. This one makes up their own thing. The drink I get is made with black tea and this location insists on making it with Green tea. The worst part was ordering and paying for scones and not getting them or a refund. read more

I go here all the time because I have to, it's on the way. The staff are great, but they are constantly out of things I want, and the location is horrible for the volume they get. The drive thru line frequently laps the building, and blocks drive thru exit causing a deadlock. When the drive through line is full, there is no room for a whole row of parking spaces to get out. It's horrible. I account this to the owners because it's totally fixable. There is also no significant rain cover for drive thru customers either, another optional expense for the owner. So if it's raining, you just get rained on in your car. The entire parking problem could be solved by moving their dumpster and having a separate exit... Going to have to look elsewhere, simple because the parking situation is so bad. read more

I get notifications from Starbucks on my phone that inform me if a Starbucks is close by and the remaining balance on my Starbucks card. It proved very useful yesterday after I bought drinks at the Kempsriver Starbucks. I was wondering how in the hell my balance went down to $2 and some change when I had just put $15 on my card (making my balance $23-something). My husband bought a tall mocha drink and I got a grande strawberry shortcake Frappucino (which turned out to be waaaay too sweet). Surely those two drinks didn't amount to $21! So I check my balance on the handy dandy Starbucks app... Turns out our ditzy barista charged me TWICE, which means I must've paid for the customer behind me. Sure, I don't mind being a generous soul, but only when I feel like it. I just feel gypped. This is exactly why I go to the Starbucks in the Fairfield shopping center. I have never encountered any shenanigans over there. read more

Literally waited in line for 35 minutes....ordered my drink on the app to be picked up so my drink was soggy when I got it.

Slow!!! Not sure if it was the people in front of me or not enough Barista's inside making the coffee. I went through the drive through on a Sunday Morning around 10:20 and it took 15min to get through the drive through. I should have went inside because the people that went inside when I arrived came out before I left the drive through . I think I will have to rethink coming here especially when in a hurry. However my drink was made properly and was hot which I do appreciate. The car in front of me also paid for my drink which was really sweet gesture. I don't usually review Starbucks locations. Generally I find the whole process very streamlined at these establishments, so I don't think there's a lot to say. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. I used to frequent this location a few years ago, and at that time it set itself apart from the rest because of the absolute hilarity of the staff. I loved getting my coffee from here through the drive-thru because everyone was so nice and personable, and were happy to joke with you. It made this location unique in a sea of generic coffeehouses. I recently moved to this area and have gone through the drive-thru twice, both times with similar experiences. Gone are the funny and accurate staff. Both times I have waited more than fifteen minutes in the drive-thru for very simple orders. Both times I have witnessed the person in front of me have his/her drink prepared incorrectly and have to be remade. People are still friendly, but they appear overwhelmed with the number of people they are serving. This location has gone from being my absolute favorite to one I'd prefer to avoid. There is another Starbucks just down the street inside Harris Teeter on Ferrell Parkway. If time is of the essence, it may be worthwhile to try the HT location. read more

Despite my having only five cheek ins here, I come nearly every day. You could even say I'm a bit of an addict. I typically have a very-special-ordered caramel macchiato, I get it the same way every day. I'm not going to lie, they get it wrong a lot. Despite that, it never bothers me, and I keep coming back, even though there is another Starbucks very close. Why, you ask? Because of the people. They are so, so sweet. They are always super friendly, and have no problem fixing my order if it is wrong. Most of them greet me with a smile and are super friendly... there are a few that aren't, but fortunately I don't see them often. We stopped by here to get something tasty for the drive home around 3pm on a Sunday. That parking lot is the biggest cluster mess I've ever seen..I should say smallest because it's too tiny. Extremely difficult to get in and out if the drive thru is busy..and it was! But the refresher I got tasted fine and my husband had no complaints about his iced coffee. This is the Starbucks I typically go to. However half the time I have to continue on my route and not stop in due to the excess cars and horrible parking that this Starbucks has. I do believe with some changes to their parking lot their sales would greatly increase. Other than the horrible parking and terrible congestion in the drive-through, the staff has always been pleasant and greeted me with a good morning when I was able to get in. I enjoy Starbucks as it is supposed to be a quick stop for coffee on your way to work, but since I do not have a Starbucks in my travels other than this one I am forced to make my own to guarantee my hot cuppa coffee in the morning. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! The ONLY reason this Starbucks gets a star is for the staff who are super nice! BUT...I have never had my drink come out right there. My go to drink is a tall nonfat mocha (sometimes hot sometimes iced) easy enough right? WRONG...either too sweet, or too watery. The bearded guy at the counter was so high maintenance and "mouthy" he was actually arguing with me over a drink - completely unprofessional and poor lack of genuine customer service. He kept on trying to talk above me and kept on running his mouth - I got so frustrated with his demeanor that I just wanted to get out of there and not give them my business. I am so glad that this Starbucks exists in this location. When I leave at 0530, this Starbucks is conveniently located as the last Starbucks right before I hop on the highway and at 0600, they are open by the time I arrive to dash through the drive thru and head to Hampton with a rejuvenating White Chocolate mocha (my favorite). I love the people of Starbucks here too, such wonderful & cheery staff ~ I thank them for being so dedicated to getting up early to prepare such awesome coffee goodness. I debated for a while about posting this review in hopes that maybe the few times that I did not have a good experience were just mishaps and not an indicator of this location as a whole. Unfortunately, this location is probably the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. I only go to this location when I'm working as it's only 3 minutes away. From the parking lot to the drinks this place needs work. However, I will say that the employees are super friendly and kind but when it comes to getting your order made correctly, 9 out of 10 times it will be wrong. I typically order sweetened iced coffee with cream which is probably one of the simplest of orders. This location will either make it with so much cream it's basically milk, barely any at all, so much sweetener it gives you a toothache, or none at all. This location's iced coffee itself always tastes stale, as if it's been sitting there since they opened regardless of the time of order. For it to be in such a heavily populated area, one would expect a much better experience. Please either train the staff better to make sure that customers are getting what they expect. I'm so tired of wasting money only to be disappointed and frustrated. I will stick to the closest location to me in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake. I suggest everyone else drive the extra ten minutes and visit the Eden Way Starbucks location for a better experience and better coffee. read more

HANDS DOWN, my FAVORITE coffee shop in Va. Beach, and actually ANYWHERE in the country (This says ALOT since I'm a huge coffee shop ambiance snob -- must have plugs, must have light, must be study-conducive, etc. etc.) Still, I love this Starbucks. It meets all of these things. Like VB in general, the store is very chill, and yet they work super hard as a well-oiled regional store (which means free product tastings sometimes!) The baristas here are all the most friendly people who very quickly learn your your name/drink (always a winning point for me) and also work incredibly well as a team with each other on their shifts. I have watched newbies come into the store and very quickly become so proficient in what they do. Being right near Regent University, I sit here for hours with no problems. Really this Starbucks and their current team (don't change!) are incredible and let you into their lives like friends. The day team is great and I heart the night team. Easy to believe that no one in the world remembers/cares these days-- but the fact they still remember me and my drinks months later when I'm home for a visit makes it SUCH a pleasure to come home (even when your coming home for visit means you have to study/work -- bleh!). =D Occasionally I use the drive through option when strapped for time -- drinks aren't always as precise, but I'm not complaining as having the option is nice! read more
