Stayed at the hotel and since we have a AAA card, breakfast was included. The deal was $10 off an entree on the menu or the buffet. The hostess was friendly and seated us in a booth as we requested. We chose the buffet because it included the omelet bar. The omelet was delicious and I had it made with egg whites. I loved all the choices and the small cups of salsa that came with it. The cook was friendly and did a great job. The buffet also included French toast, or you could make your own waffle, which is what we like. Hot syrup and whipped butter were available. Also included were fresh fruits, different breads and muffins, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and yogurt. The buffet area was clean and well stocked. Our waiter served us bottomless orange juice and coffee and even gave us one to go. Needless to say, we were stuffed and ready to conquer the drive back home after this meal.

I was up early since I was visiting the West Coast and was the first customer of the day. They have a large breakfast buffet serving a little of everything. Want made-to-order omelets? They have it. Want French toast? They have it. Want cereal? They have it. You get it. The problem this morning was they were short on help. The omelet maker was late, and I think one or two other employees were tardy. The restaurant manager was hustling to make up for the missing staff. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She insisted that she check to see if my breakfast was comped since I was a Platinum member. To my surprise she was correct, and my meal was free. So, all I had to do was leave a tip. The quality of the food was good, they just had some early morning employee issues.

Limited menu. I only ate breakfast and it was delivered quickly. The sausage omelet was good but only consisted of cheese and sausage. The vegetable omelet was better with more flavor. The fruit cup was a good size with fresh fruit.

A new favorite spot for us! Had been before in the afternoon. But Friday night was awesome. Our server Jesus was excellent. We were there for 3 hours. STIFF cocktails. Shared a gourmet wood fired pizza. Fantastic. We were the only two in the beginning. When time to leave, there must've been 100 people there and we didn't even notice! Talking closely in the lounge area, feeling the love, a wonderful evening. Can't wait to go back. Go see for yourself. A+

We were staying here for the weekend. The first morning we came down for their breakfast... they offer breakfast buffet. It was $18.95 for a variety of things you could choose from: Hot entrees: maple sausage, bacon, potatoes, french toast for the heavy choices. Oatmeal, yogurt, cereals, milk and banana for the healthy offerings Make your own Waffles. Fruits: cantaloupe, honey dew, watermellons, etc Pastries: danish, muffins, bagel, etc You can also order make your own omelette with toppings: ham, turkey sausage, pork sausage, mushrooms, jalapeno, green onions, tomatoes, spinach, olives. I chose: Omelet with Turkey sausage, jalapeno, onions, tomato, mushroom. It was not bad.. but a bit pricey for A ok buffet breakfast. I wish they had cold cut meats ( smoke salmon, salami, etc) and the last night of our stay, i wasn't feeling well... so we came down to eat dinner. I ordered the Mediterranean chicken & linguini minus the olive and artichoke. Matt ordered the quesadilla salad. it was alright. my pasta comes with creamy tortilla soup... it was yum!! Our dinner came out to be $28.54 not bad..plenty of food left... Our morning waitress was very friendly... our dinner hostess ( old lady) was not friendly.. she was too busy chatting she didn't even noticed we were waiting for a few minutes for her to seat us.

Came in the morning for breakfast and it was SWAMPED. They definitely got hit hard for breakfast time. Even a sales manager had to come in and help out. We got seated after waiting for about 5 minutes to get a table cleared. The sales manager helping out came and got our drink orders. Martha was our server. I felt so bad for her. Seemed like there were so many tables she had to juggle. We ordered two all American breakfasts, an order of buttermilk pancakes, & the Santa Ynez omelette. They were all just okay. Pancakes were a bit too doughy for my taste. My mom liked her omelette. Prices were affordable, especially for a hotel. Service was really good after things slowed down a bit and the rush of people left. Thanks for being so kind Martha!

This is a great place to eat if your staying at the hotel. The staff always remembers me. I tried the shrimp tacos tonight and they exceeded my expectations. The street tacos, guacamole, and burger are all great. I would give it a 4.5 if possible because it good restaurant to eat at but not something I seek out. It convenient, quick, and a feat place to meet up with colleagues.

Until this visit, I've always had a positive impression. Last night, our group purchased drinks from the Sideways Lounge and sat in the outdoor fireplace area. One member of our group was smoking when an employee approached us and rudely told us smoking wasn't allowed there. That wasn't the issue--we would have gladly complied if the policy had simply been explained respectfully. Instead, we were interrupted multiple times while trying to ask why there were no signs indicating the rule. The employee repeatedly responded, "Well, I'm telling you now." He then told us to go outside the fenced lounge area--even into the parking lot--to smoke, despite posted signs stating that alcohol cannot leave the lounge area. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and inconsistent. Businesses absolutely have the right to enforce their policies. Customers should also expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this one interaction overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable trip. After years of staying here and recommending the property to others, I no longer plan to return or recommend Sideways Inn for future golf and wine weekends. I sincerely hope management addresses the customer service issues that led to this experience.

I'd Gather Not One…read moreof Solvang's newest restaurants isn't known for its æbleskivers or Danishes, but rather for French-Asian fusion, and is led by Indonesian-born head chef and co-owner, Budi Kazali. They promise to bring you bold flavors using fresh seasonal ingredients in an elegant but approachable space. The Good: * Reservations via OpenTable™ * Free street and city lot parking nearby. * Dog-friendly outdoor dining * Right on the downtown strip in Solvang, next to our favorite bakery. * Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice) was delicious and hit all the right notes. The fried chicken add-on was a different story, though... See below. * Caesar Salad had a delicious flavor, but Carissa found the salad to be a bit overdressed for her liking. I didn't mind it, but I like an obscene amount of dressing on my salads, so go figure? Salmon was a little undercooked for her liking, but again, I wouldn't mind it a bit pink. So, comme ci, comme ça. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Meh: * Not all the outdoor spaces are shaded/covered. * Prices are a bit absurd for certain items. Yeah, I know it's über-touristy Solvang, but jfc. $12-14 for a beer? And don't get me started on $12 for some of the blandest and most minuscule serving of fried chicken ever. * We arrived ten minutes early for our reservation, and the hostess seemed very annoyed that we were. In fact, she made us wait until it was time for our reservation to the very minute--despite the restaurant being at less than 10% capacity. * Service wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't say it was good, either. More on this below. The Ugly: * I ordered the Hazy IPA they had on tap, and when it arrived, I could tell it wasn't a particularly "hazy" Hazy IPA. But I figured some are better than others. For my second drink, I asked for the Clown Shoes IPA they had in a can. When the waitress returned with it, she admitted that the first beer she'd brought me was actually the same Clown Shoes IPA. Apparently, they'd run out of the Hazy IPA and decided to make the substitution without asking me. It's not a huge deal--I probably would have made the same substitution myself--but I definitely wouldn't have ordered a second one if I'd known it was the only IPA they had in-house. Like I said, it's not the end of the world, but for some reason, it just feels a little devious. Would they have made a substitution without asking a wine connoisseur? I would hope not, but now it kind of makes you wonder. Conclusion: Not a great experience here, from the hostess to the waitress to the food. I wish them luck.

We always love checking out where the locals like to go and so happy we did. The location is just outside of downtown Solvang... Less than five minutes by car. I didn't know such a beautiful golf course was right next to us, the restaurant had an outdoor patio that overlooked the beautiful golf course and the ambience was awesome. There were so many things on the menu that look delicious and I got to try so many different things because we all ordered something different. I was boring and ordered a basic breakfast, but the bacon was one of the most delicious ones I've had. I asked for extra crispy hash brown, and they did a great job. My significant other ordered a burger and it was to die for, I'm blanking on the name of the burger, but it had bacon, jalapeño aioli and came with the best side of onion rings. If you love onion rings, you should order it. My other friend had the French dip and that too was delicious, and this horseradish aïoli that it came with was amazing. And lastly, we also tried the bison chili which was tasty as well. The prices were quite reasonable. The server was great, and our overall experience was just enjoyable and we look forward to going back. Plenty of free parking in their private lot.

On top of…read morethat it's lunchtime and you're hungry...well, on the outskirts of town is the River Grill At the Alisal (River Golf Course). Yes, my dear Yelp Review Readers, here you will find plenty of parking and the River Grill with striking overviews of the River (Golf) Course. The restaurant itself is fashioned in a "western" theme style, which is apropos since it is affiliated with the more famously known Alisal Ranch (a 10K+ acre California luxury Dude Ranch). The restaurant is spacious...plenty of tables and seating both indoor and outdoor. We were greeted as we entered the establishment and seated immediately. It was around 1:30pm and only two other tables inside and two tables outside the restaurant had diners. Our waitress was quick to hand us menus and very attentive in her customer service throughout our meal. I believe the Manager or Assistant Manager did a "table touch" and was very friendly in offering what ever assistance might be needed. The Menu (see pictures) wasn't overly expansive but offered a decent selection of offerings that would seem appropriate in satisfying a wide variety of patrons. After some conversation our Server took our order: Drinks - Watermelon Margarita (5/5) Appetizers (For the Table) - Crispy Brussel Sprouts (4/5), Smoked Chicken Wings (2/5...sadly "fried", bland and not moist under the "fried crust coating") and one of the offered "specials", the Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad (5/5). Mains - Vaquero Burger (4/5 ...it "came" with the "right stuff" on it) with a side Salad, Bison Chile (4/5...if you like chile , this is a good bet), and from the Breakfast Menu, served all day on weekends, River Grill Eggs Benedict (5/5...exactly what one would expect). There was plenty of leftover food to take home. It was a decent meal...but nothing was a "standout" and none of the items served connected in anyway to Solvang's theme (as would have been the case,if we ate at one of the restaurants in town). So on this occasion, in this Yelper's opinion the River Grill At the Alisal certainly met expectations, but unfortunately, didn't exceed them and therefore truly earned this "it has its pros" 3.5 Star Review.

It sounds like a place where you buy a bottle, eat three responsible almonds, and leave. Instead, they are serving some of the most satisfying farm food in town while the name stands outside pretending this is all perfectly ordinary. The building feels old in the right way. Not fake old, where someone bought distressed wood last Tuesday and charged it with having memories. It feels like locals have been wandering in from nearby vineyards, ranches, farms, and homes for years, sitting down without needing to study the room first. The tourists discover it. The locals appear to already have a system. The focaccia arrived soft in the middle with a crisp little edge that made tearing into it far more entertaining than bread has any right to be. The olive oil tasted raw, green, and incredibly fresh, as though the olives had been pressed somewhere nearby and were still slightly annoyed about it. The vegetables come from the restaurant's own farm just down the road, and they looked almost suspiciously healthy. Bright, crunchy, colorful, and full of life. Most restaurant vegetables sit beside the meat like nervous witnesses. These had confidence, opinions, and possibly retirement plans. The burrata was creamy and uncomplicated, with excellent olive oil doing what excellent olive oil does, which is make you briefly consider whether bread, cheese, and oil might be enough to sustain human civilization. The skirt steak was beautifully cooked and full of flavor. Every cow only has one skirt, which seems like a design flaw considering how many people want to order it. The vegetables alongside it were not there to provide moral balance. They were good enough to start arguments over who got the last one. My mushroom ravioli was exactly right. No puddle of oil. No cream sauce trying to bury the evidence. No pasta cooked to the consistency of a damp envelope. It was rich, earthy, and satisfying, with every bite feeling complete rather than simply preparing you for the next one. The wine wall is practically a geography lesson with alcohol. Santa Ynez Valley, Los Olivos, Paso Robles, Napa, France, Italy, and enough local bottles to make you wonder whether every nearby hill has quietly started producing wine. The wines we tried were approachable and easygoing. They joined dinner politely instead of barging in and demanding we admire their résumé. We finished with crème brûlée, which remains one of the few desserts that begins with minor property damage. Cracking through the warm sugar into the cool butterscotch custard underneath is childish, elegant, and deeply satisfying. Marcos was upbeat, knowledgeable, and clearly knew the menu well enough to recommend it without sounding like he had memorized a hostage statement. The whole evening felt relaxed, local, and completely unforced. This is the kind of restaurant where you finish dinner, walk outside, and immediately start wondering what time they open tomorrow.

The menu here is wine country, farm-to-table and the restaurant even has their own organic farm a short distance away where they source ingredients. For dinner we started with the beet salad special served over a citrus yogurt. For main courses we had the grilled rack of lamb and a quinoa bowl with salmon. Every dish was expertly prepared and delicious. The fruits and veggies were exceptionally fresh being sourced directly.
