Great brewery, good beer, food and service. The Diablo burger was tasty. All of our entrees were very good.

Stopped in for happy hour beers and snacks. Sat at outside bar and Jazz was our sweet bartender.Love their Cherry Sour beer but also had the Mexican lager which was tasty too. My spouse enjoyed both his dark beers. We shared ham and cheese sliders and deviled eggs off $7 happy hour menu. Good tasting food. We saw them bring out a brick oven pizza which looked delicious. We want to come back again and try one.

State 48 Brewery absolutely delivered. I ordered the State 48 Burger (the one with the fried pickles on it), and it was juicy, flavorful, and perfect. My friend went with the Beer Cheese Burger with bacon jam, and it was rich, indulgent, and downright delicious. I topped it all off with a Porn Star Martini, which was smooth, balanced, and strong enough to mind its business. Bonus points: you can take beer to go, which honestly feels like a public service. Shoutout to Bri, our server, who was AWESOME--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better without hovering or disappearing. She knew her stuff and kept the vibes right. Great food, great drinks, great service. State 48 knows exactly what it's doing, and I'll absolutely be back.

Our food came out burnt, when we told our waiter he said let me tell them, never came with a replacement. Asked to give to us to go, after waiting like 15+ minutes He came back with an empty box

As a brewery fanatic I'm so happy I found this place. The food was so good, the service great, and their drinks solid. They had a big tap list, but also many different mixed drink options. Their grilled chicken salad had some of the best dressing I've ever had, and their pizza was great. I wish I would have asked for the fries extra crispy- but the toppings were great!

The ambiance is only held to the standard of my bartender, JAZZ! ( Amazing and Hot) !Whom keeps the vibe going with great talk and cold drinks. The food is great, chicken wings I recommend dry rub. Rich Infante, So CAL

Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I enjoyed my Rodeo burger and side salad, with a Diet Coke. Everything food-wise was great. The portions were giant and came out hot and fresh. My companion's Steak Cobb was also well-received. However, at 1 PM on a Wednesday, where there were less than 10 tables occupied, our food took about 45 minutes to arrive (again, fresh and tasty.) Then, when we asked for a check, that took about 10 minutes to arrive. The service was incredibly slow and our server did not seem to think anything of it. I have been here before and had good service, however, that was not the case today.

I loved it so much I got it again, the next day. To go, this time. It was just as good.

This is one of my top spots for craft beer! The food is delicious. I haven't had a bad thing there! The fish tacos are delicious and fairly priced, wings are good, fish and chips! But what I like most is their selection of dark beers! And once in a while, they have barley wine!! AK48, Hell Bitch and a few others are my go-to! But I've had some good barley wines too! That's the first thing that I ask for when I go

    Warm beer

Plain and simple, warm beer! Even when I asked for a cold one, new one came, still warm!! Guys, you are a brewery, you have to serve your beer COLD!! UNLESS YOU'RE IN GERMANY OR SOMEWHERE ELSE, NOBODY WANTS WARM BEER!!

Ask the Community - State 48 Brewery

Can I bring a non state 48 growler to fill?

    You sure can.

    Do they serve Guinness?

I love Guinness, but State 48 doesn't have it. They have a large variety of other beers to choose from that are amazing.

Has anyone tried their GF pizza?

Their GF pizza is not truly GF. They sprinkle flour on the bottom of the pizza oven before the crust goes in. So if you have an allergy, this is not safe to eat.

Dog friendly in outdoor seating area?

Yes it is! I bring my dog there whenever I'm in town.

You all handled the chaos like total pros. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, the service was beyond what you'd expect on such a busy day, and the food completely blew me away. We ordered the smash burger with sautéed onions, a Reuben, chicken nuggets, and the cottage pie (which someone in line recommended and wow... they were right). Everything was made perfectly. The portions were very generous and the flavor was absolute perfection. I was so impressed. It honestly felt like a big warm hug in my stomach. The cottage pie was incredible, and this is coming from someone who has tried many shepherd's pies over the years and never found one I really loved. This one changed that. The smash burger was juicy and delicious, the nuggets were juicy and delicious (This coming from my nugget pro), but the moment I took a bite of the Reuben (one of my all time favorites) I almost regretted not ordering the corned beef and cabbage too. This was a limited menu for a super busy event day, which just makes me even more excited to come back and try more. Highly recommend. Thank you for such a great experience!

We continue to be impressed by both the quality and creativity of their food. On this visit, I ordered The Pilgrim, which is essentially Thanksgiving dinner wrapped inside a pasty. It features turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy. It arrived absolutely piping hot--seriously, give it a few minutes before taking that first bite--but once it cooled down, it was phenomenal. The combination of flavors was comforting and satisfying, and a little cranberry sauce with each bite provided the perfect balance. My only minor critique would be that the ingredients could have been distributed a bit more evenly throughout the pasty. I also found the gravy slightly more peppery than expected, occasionally overshadowing the stuffing, sweet potatoes, and turkey. Even so, this has become my favorite pasty at Cornish Pasty Co. We also tried the Peppered Steak pasty, which features sirloin, portobello mushrooms, leeks, zucchini, Stilton bleu cheese, and a peppercorn brandy cream sauce. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, especially the steak and the wonderfully flaky crust. For my personal taste, the peppercorn brandy cream sauce was a little more prominent than I prefer, and I found myself wanting more of the steak, mushroom, and Stilton flavors to come through. That's simply a matter of preference, though--it was still a well-executed dish made with quality ingredients. One thing Cornish Pasty Co. consistently gets right is the crust. Every pasty we've had has been flaky, flavorful, and substantial without feeling heavy. This wasn't our first experience with their menu. Over the years we've thoroughly enjoyed the Tikka Masala, the Lamb & Mint (which was a genuine "wow" dish), and the Royale. Those are all excellent choices, but after this visit, The Pilgrim has moved to the top of my personal rankings. Our two pasties came in under $20 each, making for a filling and satisfying meal at a reasonable price. We ordered takeout, and while there was a bit of a wait after we arrived, it's worth noting that these are made-to-order pasties, not fast food. Even though we only ordered a few minutes before arriving, the quality was well worth the extra time. My biggest criticism has nothing to do with the food. While waiting, my wife and I sat inside briefly, and we found the music extremely loud. During our visit, the restaurant was playing Silth, a progressive metalcore band. Musical tastes are obviously subjective, but the combination of the style and volume made conversation difficult for us. My wife eventually decided to wait in the car because it was simply too loud. The restaurant clearly aims for a lively pub atmosphere, with games available and a diverse mix of patrons enjoying themselves, so many people may appreciate that environment. It just wasn't a great fit for us. That said, the food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and we'll absolutely be back. We'll probably continue ordering takeout, but that's a reflection of our personal preferences rather than any issue with the restaurant itself. If you're looking for creative, well-made pasties with high-quality ingredients, Cornish Pasty Co. is definitely worth a visit.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more George and Dragon Pub 4240 N. Central Avenue Phoenix, 85012 Companion and I were hungry and I had a craving for English style fish and chips. Where else to go but to a pub! We arrived at 6:40 in the evening and seated ourselves as is the custom. While many of the tables are hightops, we chose a regular table off to the side. First was an appetizer of Curried Chips along with NA Guinness to wash it down. The chips were like mashed potatoes in the center and crispy on the outside. Along with the authentic curry to dip them in, it was deliciousness on a plate. On to the main dishes. Companion ordered Bangers and Mash. Excellent tasting sausages served over mashed potatoes in traditional style. Companion loved it but was unable to finish it. For myself, I had my Fish and Chips that I was craving. 2 large pieces of cod perfectly fried in a beer batter coating. Served over a pile of perfect chips and accompanied by malt vinegar I was back in the U.K. Only problem was that it was served with a side of English peas instead of mushy peas like one would get overseas, but one can't be too choosy. Of course, we had to have dessert. There is always room for dessert! Companion ordered Toffee Pudding with Hot Custard sauce and I ordered the Bread Pudding. The toffee was chewy and sticky as it should be and the hot custard sauce added just the right touch. My bread pudding was in dense slices as is proper in the U.K.. I stole some of companions Hot Custard to put on it and it was wonderful. This was an excellent dinner which brought back memories of pubs in the U.K. The only thing missing off the menu was a Ploughman's Lunch, but not enough people would order it I think. Service and cleanliness were up to par. It's worth noting that on Sundays they have Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. I can't wait! 5 stars

Today, I was walking near my office and came across the Downtown Phoenix location of Cornish Pasty. I enjoyed a tasty lunch with good service, and I am already looking forward to heading back there. When I approached the restaurant from the corner of Central and Monroe, it wasn't clear which door was the door I should enter though it seems like any door off Monroe or Central is just fine. There were limited number of tables plus the bar, and I was delighted to see a small table available. I was eating on my own with a book, and I was quickly greeted by one of several team members who stopped by my table over my lunch hour. I asked a few questions about three options, and I decided upon the Chicken Pot Pie Signature Pasty consisting of chicken, carrots, red potato, green beans, celery, and onion with rosemary. There was also chicken gravy on the side. Everything about the dish was delicious! I would consider ordering this again as I enjoyed it so much; however, I may want to try something else next time. There are so many options! I did learn though that you cannot substitute most options in the pasties. Visit the Cornish Pasty website at https://www.cornishpastyco.com. The menu consists of their signature pasties and premium pasties though they also list vegan and vegetarian pasties, salads, appetizers and soups, sides, desserts, and drinks.
