I really, really, really want this place to be good but alas it lacks. Small menu with limited choices and worse, small beer selection that is missing local beers. This is Colorado, there's beer everywhere, get some local stuff. All the food I've had is very good, but this place could own the market out in Reunion if the menu was a bit more varied and the bar where better. I had really high hopes for this place. We ordered just waters and a Dr Pepper to start. Well the Dr Pepper came with a side of lipstick which I can normally let slide, if I get a new one. As the new one was being dropped off I watched our server scratch off something stuck to the side of the new glass...so much for my Dr Pepper. The onion rings we ordered were ok. Bland and no seasoning but overall they were good. We then got the chicken sandwich and fish and chips. The chicken sandwich was beautiful but again, absolutely no salt or seasoning. The fish and chips on the other hand were awful. Soggy and the batter just fell right off bc of how soggy it was. I couldn't even eat it. And again no salt. The server noticed my plate was uneaten and asked how it was and I told him it wasn't good and soggy. He said "absolutely" and then left it there. I don't like to complain and most of the time I'll just eat it. But the food was disappointing and the response to the food was disappointing. It wasn't cheap either. We didn't get a chance to try anything. The bar top was not busy, my husband and I sat for 8 minutes before the bartender greeted us. I get she was training, but her back was to her entire bar top. We finally got a menu and waited another 5 before we left. The couple by us were asked if they wanted a refill when we hadn't had even been asked what we'd like. Nobody else was sitting down. To start, I sat at the bar and the tender was great. Ordered the Prime Rib Sliders and it was so salty I didn't eat everything and the "prime rib" was fatty, over done and over cooked. To add insult to injury, when it was time to pay the tab, I was informed that cash or debit card was accepted as was a credit card, but a 2% fee would be added if I used the credit card. The cheese in my nachos wasn't melted, can't make this up, it was a cold ball that looked like it was scooped on the plate but never melted. The food is wonderful but get it to go as their "music" is horrible. We showed up at a place where they had lots of TVs to watch the Rockies game and sit on a beautiful patio. I don't even want to give a 1 star, they don't deserve this! We went there to have 2 steaks and a bottle of wine. NO wine that we wanted and NO STEAKS! Are you kidding me??? This area is begging for nice steaks, and a good bottle of wine. So, we ordered 2 burgers that had 6 flies as their best friend!! SO hard to eat with the flies landing on our food! Burger arrived with cold tator tots. Didn't see the waitress after this food was delivered. The waitress thought it was funny to the situation that they were in. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to try this new restaurant. We had a great experience and everything was amazing. We started with a split order of wings (traditional and dry rub salt and vinegar). Perfectly done, I can definitely eat the salt and vinegar wings on a regular, so good!!!!! My husband had the slopper burger and I had the lamb dip. So much flavor. My husband loved the bun... he said it made the burger so much tastier. The kids also gobbled down their kids meals. Well done, great atmosphere... great addition to the community! Totally respect the challenges Covid has created for restaurants and why we have tried to continue to support our local businesses but it is disappointing to see people in the kitchen with a pen dangling from their mouth, then falling out only to be picked up again while expediting. We have been looking for a good place to eat in the Reunion area and this place was a gem! We were hesitant about their mixed reviews but we definitely had a great experience. The atmosphere is great. It has a sports bar vibe with lots of televisions, so you'll always have a great view. It also has a nice dining area for families. The food was excellent. We tried nachos with smoked brisket- the smoky cheese was a unique touch- creamy and smoky. This is a must try for your first time. The Buffalo burger was also cooked perfectly. I've been coming here for Happy Hour drinks and appetizers for most Wednesdays over the past year and a half with others from work. It's always a comfortable place to gather, with good drinks and good food. And an extra shout out to Johanna, the bartender. She works harder than anyone in the place, is always friendly and welcoming, learns our drink preferences, and never leaves us waiting. My close friends from Denver recommended we meet here - we all haven't been to this place. I drove all the way from Westminster and they came from Southeast Denver. It was beyond disappointing, to say the least. My friend's food arrived after we all had our meals. The server said it was because they needed to re-do his steak and it still came out not the way he ordered it. The servers are the worst I've encountered in a long time. When we try to ask for refills for our drinks (which took forever), one of them said "I'm not your server, I don't know what you're talking about!" My son needed a spoon and he had to wait 30 minutes. I personally had to wait 25 minutes for silverware. It's one thing if it's just because there were many patrons. I can also deal with horrible food, but bad service is something I struggle with. Of the 3 servers that brought food/drinks on various occasions, all of them were just jerks - I wonder if they are paid below minimum wage or something. The whole experience was so bad because of the service. If you're reading this, avoid State House at all cost! read more

Slow service, took years to get our food. Waitress didn't give one refill the entire meal and the honey mustard chicken sandwich was horrible. Breading tasted so bad that I pulled it all off...the chicken tasted like it had been frozen and then reheated. This place is new and I really wanted to like it desperately wanted to like it because we don't have anything like this in this neighborhood. What I will say is it the ambience is really cool and it looks like a place that could be really good. However, I had the pork chop and it was literally in edible. It's like it had been sitting in some kind of vat of water all night long and it was completely tasteless and fatty and honestly I couldn't eat it. That's saying a lot because I love porkchops. I grew up in Iowa ... we know how to make porkchops.The mashed potatoes were excellent and the green beans were fine but the pork was gross. I will probably go back to see if there's some other entrée that is better but for gods sake don't order the pork chop. read more

State House 38 definitely caught my eyes as we were driving by so we figured might as well give this new cool looking place a shot! For a Saturday night and new bar this place was very packed so we waited 25 minutes for a table of three, not too shabby. Once we got a seat at a 3 person booth next to the bar we checked out the menus--the atmosphere is your typical bar, dimly lit and extremely loud with TV's and music. It's way too loud to have a conversation and it's almost too dark to read your menu. I ordered a strawberry margarita and my mom order the desperate housewives drink. They both were pretty tart but especially the housewives drink it was almost like drinking a gross cucumber sparkling water. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu and my parents split the Colorado Cobb salad. My chicken was really good just a little dry and much smaller than I expected for $18 but nonetheless the food was pretty great! Our service was nothing to run home about it took a long time for our waitress to check on us and take our order. I think this place could be an awesome hangout spot once all the "new" quirks get worked out.
