They promptly evaluated the transmission and charged around $250 (refundable if I did the work there) for the diagnostic. Their recommendation was a rebuilt transmission. No problem. I shopped around and had it done for $1500 less than the All Cities quote. I didn't do an online aftermarket purchase. The business I went to installed a Chevrolet certified reman transmission with a 3 year warranty (same as All City) that was direct from Chevy.

American Transmissions was recommended to me from a transmission shop in Wenatchee. I took my truck in for them to diagnose. After test - driving it as well as visually inspecting the transmission, i was informed that I did not need a new transmission. I did need a flush and replacement of a leaking seal. During that they also discovered a bad u joint which they replaced for the cost of the part only since they already had my driveshaft removed. Wow! They could have told me otherwise and I would have been out about $3000 for a new transmission never knowing better. I highly recommend this shop to anyone with any sort of vehicle transmission issue. Very knowledgeable and very honest.

I've been here before for a clutch grinding gears, they got their money and I still. Had the problem even after taking it to them 3 more times. So a part or couple parts went immediately to could be over $4,000 for a rebuild. Not exactly the best solution. Torque converter clutch sensor is what they found. I had a p0741 solenoid code. IM PRETTY SURE I CAN FIND SOMEONE TO FIX THE ACTUAL PROBLEM NOT JUMP TO REBUILD MY ENGINE RIGHT OUT THE GATE. MY CAR IS RUNNING FINE.

This problem had already been diagnosed by a technician that wasn't comfortable doing the work so we took it to aamco. Aamco said, it wasn't actually the transmission, that the problem was that we needed a new battery & alternator, that those two things would fix the problems we were having. $1,300 later with a new battery and alternator-guess what! the problems were still there. we brought it back to Aamco where they then diagnosed it with the original problem we knew it had. they wanted 5k plus to fix it and didn't offer to reimburse us the $1,300 spent just a week prior. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.
