Stater Brothers on Bear Valley is so great. No matter when you go in, and if the long they will definitely get someone to open the registers, even the managers will come up and go on the registers to get the lines down. The store manager Gabriel is so very nice and kind and Eddie I spoke to him, basically all the managers are very helpful and kind. I haven't found anyone in that store that is not willing to help or has a bad attitude. I definitely recommend Daniel in the meat department to get a raise. The last few times I went he was by himself he he didn't look stressed. He didn't have an attitude with no one and he's just a great worker and y'all should be happy to have an employee like that. read more

I am BEYOND satisfied of this baker. I was unaware Stater Bros had custom bakers. This cake was less than $25 which is a crazy deal. I have been a regular customer at this Stater Bros on BV and Navajo since they opened in 1988. Unfortunately in the past few months their customer service has become nonexistent. The last several times the checkout clerks were disengaged and pretty much ignored me. Once a few weeks ago I had a very lengthy order and the entire time the clerk was on the phone on a personal call. I tried to ask a couple questions but he blew me off. Today the clerk spent the entire time while processing my groceries just chatting with the bagging guy about her personal stuff. I think she wants to be his boyfriend. She ignored me. I was in this location earlier today (10/30/24) around noon. I was having a scatter brain moment when I came across Marlene. She was so warm and welcoming and helped me to the aisle I was looking for. She was so sweet to make sure I found what I needed and offered addition assistance. In a world scarce of smiling faces - I was thankful for hers! I saw her one other time while I was shopping and she very politely asked if I needed anything else. I was having an issue with a return I was doing. The customer service was good and everyone was so friendly, they told me to wait while they called down a manager. i waited what seemed like 30 minutes to be met by a very rude and short man. he claimed to be the "store manager." He was talking very fast and incoherent, and avoided eye contact the whole time. He had a different manger help me who was amazing because he claimed he "didn't have time". i'm assuming for my issue. This Stater brothers promoted a guy and gave him a store to run after discriminating against my husband. About 1 and a half to two years ago my husband wasn't wearing a mask due to a medical condition. The assistant manager Ricco offered him one and had another employee walk over to him with a mask after telling him he has a medical condition. My husband goes to check out and Ricco the assistant manager at the time, closes off the land with a bread cart and starts spraying the conveyer belt with cleaner/ disinfectant while our food is still on the conveyer belt. Then has the nerve to walk around to the cashier and loudly tells her as soon as my husband is gone, to disinfectant this whole area. I called and spoke to the manager the girl with long hair and cowboys boots. She said instead of me calling corporate she'd like to take care of the problem. Fast gorward to now, I talked to someone who works there whom I haven't seen seen since that incident. She told me shortly after the incident he was promoted and now runs a store. What a slap in the face from Stater Brothers. I had been coming to this store since I was a child and I don't live close. Winco is closer. read more

Last three times i went to checkout cashiers will be taking to employee bagging groceries ignoring me when talking to them,or they are yelling to get attention of other employees joking around not being professional.they never listen when i ask for bags or use certain amount off card and use cash and they just charge full amount to card while not paying attention to anything im saying..tried to enter number for rewards so would save me $5 i hit wrong button and asked cashier 3 times if can reset card reader but they to busy talking to other employees about not work related. Stater Bros is not my favorite supermarket though they do have some plus points. A good bakery (enjoy their cookies) fresh fruit and veggies at a descent price ....and that's where it ends. It's always full, the check out lines crazy long, service minimal, prices higher than most other supermarkets and not a huge selection. read more

This place always seems to disappoint. Go in and get chicken wings from the meat department to take home and put on the grill the same hr and the shit smells rancid! Not even an hr later. It stunk up my car my house. This is bullshit. You buy from the meat department to supposedly get fresh meat and instead you get rotten meat you can't even cook with in the hour of buying it! The worst part I called them just to let them know so they don't get anyone sick from salmonella. And all I got was Um ok, Um we should not of sold it to you like that. The deli where you can order a sandwich combo, Jesus it's like pulling teeth! They are so slow, literally. Like they walk slow and move slow on purpose. Then, the sandwich doesn't even match the picture. The two sandwiches we ordered, mine had a Subway looking bun on it, and the other had like a chibatta bread on it. Well, they used regular sliced bread. That was almost $8 a sandwich each. It was a joke of a sandwich and service. read more

The clerk wrote the wrong price on the container, after I pointed out the mistake, she said "Well, you have more in there anyways" to make up for the inflated price. Wow what a shopping experience I had today at Stater Brothers I can see why this location has all these bad reviews. I walk up to the bakery counter to order my sons first birthday cake and this stumpy fat associate is laughing with the I assume bakery worker. I said hello and they completely ignored me and then finally he came up to me and asked if I needed anything which obviously I did. I ask him who he is and states he's the store manager..... some short and ignorant store manager this place has. Then they send over some blonde to take my order and she gets it wrong and is so rude it's like talking to a brick wall. To think this place is supposed to "care" about your business.... obviously this location doesn't and if HR doesn't do anything I wouldn't imagine this location staying open much longer. Having lived in Apple Valley for some time now, I used to really like this store. I still shop there but only ad items. This has to do with only one person. The person who does orders seems to enjoy not stocking the store with ad items. If you have a list of 10 ad items, you are sure to only walk out with 3 maybe 4 tops. If it's a SF soda and on ad forget it, they only stock the SF stuff the week after it goes off ad. This is the only store that I have ever shop that will take sale items, post the tag, and put a non sale item next to it, WITH THE SAME COLOR AND LAYOUT of the sale tag. Then another sale item next to that. I have got home many times to find I had been over charged (well not really it was the right price but thinking it was the lower/sale price item). I buy very little meat there, when I do. The people are nice, they stock it thought out the day. Frozen Food, Milk, all ok by me. Check out is fast and the checkers are nice. If you must shop at Stater Bros, drive down the street a little (about 15 minutes) to the other one. They do stock sale items. read more

I was recently there and needed help with information about a product and the Assistant Manager, Jerry, was so helpful. He never made it seem like I was burdening him or his employees. I really love to shop at Stater Bros. , but I don't recommend this particular store. The store is filthy. I have many times grabbed expired goods in the deli meat area. As i was cashing out, the cashier grabbed one of my gallons of milk and rubbed it on her face cause she was hot. I was utterly disgusted and demanded a new one. Instead of sending the cart girl to get it, she decides to become extremely rude and began laughing with the cart girl. I went in there today to order something from the deli department and there was this girl who looked like she hasn't brushed her teeth in weeks who was extremely rude to me. When I asked her for her name she completely ignored me. I have been shopping here for a while and even the "new manager" sucks at managing. Period. I had made a cake order with the "bakery manager" and she got my order wrong. How can you be a bakery manager and not get your own department's order right? And that's not the worst part, as compensation this stumpy, shrimpy small supposedly "store manager" came and gave me free ice cream to make up for it. Seriously? Talk to your department manager to get her orders right instead of bribing people with ice cream. Disgraceful. My boyfriend and i frequently shop at Stater Bros. We really enjoy their meat selection. Last week we went in and requested that the $60 worth of steaks we bought be seasoned. The girl in the meat department seemed annoyed of us even asking and when we went home to cook them, noticed each steak had a thick layer of seasoning. My boyfriend brushed a lot of it off, but still left the steaks tasting very over seasoned. Today, we went in and when we went through check out, the manager was our check out clerk, and he mentioned we could get our meat seasoned for free. We thanked him and mentioned the seasoning incident from last time. He apologized and seemed very sincere and concerned. He also, ran out to apologize again and thanked us for shopping at his store. Great manager. He was even helping with the carts outside. It's managers like that that make me want to stay loyal to that location. Thank you so much to that manager. read more

I have just moved to Apple Valley and I have visited this store twice. The people are rude, and act like you are a thief! If you order a sandwich, they make you pay for it and will not even give you a cup until you have. (If you are buying a fountain drink.) It is their store policy. Well maybe just this one, because I have never heard such bull. They are slow in the deli and some of the cashiers are slow. It is like they don't care nor do they know what they are doing. I do like shopping at Stater Bros., and this is the first time that I have had such poor service. I don't even think they deserve one star, but had to give it one. read more
