Really clean store. The employees were super friendly and helpful. It's stocked fairly well. They have average prices and some decent deals on random things. They have a medium sized produce section and tons of yogurt, which are two of my main interests in a grocery store. I am over at the gym pretty often, so I definitely plan on frequenting this store a lot more often. It's nice to walk into a store that is so welcoming and friendly. Jennifer in the bakery is absolutely amazing! She is the reason I keep coming back to Stater Bros for my cakes. Every time I place an order, she takes the time to listen to my ideas, understand my vision, and offer creative suggestions that make the cake even better than I imagined. I usually purchase some of my own cake toppers and decorations from Amazon, so store policy doesn't allow her to fully decorate the cake with those items. Even with that limitation, Jennifer goes above and beyond by helping me choose the perfect colors, design, and layout. She always shares her ideas and makes sure the cake itself is beautiful, giving me the perfect foundation to add my own decorations at home. Wanted to let everyone know about my great experience with the produce manager at Stater bros, called a couple days ago wanting to make an order for a speciality item that are only available seasonly not ever expecting to get it and to my surprise I got a message the very next day to come pick it up! For the last 5 years I have had to drive to Parker, AZ to get this product and this year thanks to Alex Cabrera the produce guy at store #150 on Mission Ave I only had to drive 3 miles down the street! The ambiance feels calmer than most grocery stores, I didn't feel it to be packed or too chaotic at all which I appreciate The fruits, vegetables, and pastry section of this grocery store has a large variety that is fresh, and at a great price compared to other local markets. I'd say this is the grocery store to get your steaks and have a relationship with a butcher. Besides that the prices for the dairy section are really extreme and I would not go here for those sort of purchases again. read more

Normally, this would be a five star store. Everything is great until you hit two major things. Customer Service is lacking in a big way to Butcher is rude and polite and actually told me to make up my mind when I asked for a cut of meat that was on sale. Specifically ribeye steak at a thicker cut as a 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 inches he actually looked at me and said make up your mind. I would like to clarify when I say 2 1/2 to 2 1/4 means either is fine over or under meaning it doesn't have to be perfect. I just like a thicker Steak when I can because it cooks better in the oven, the thinner, the steak the less crust you can get on the outside because it overcooks in the middle then today I went in again for the third time this week and the tri-tip that on sale is not in the counter when you have three flavors and only two in the counter that's unacceptable. When your product is on sale you should make sure you have plenty of product everybody but the elderly Butcher or meat cutter is extremely friendly, but let's be honest, a rude and polite and unprofessional meat cutter at a full service. meat. department is not exactly the best thing to have. There's a reason we shot that places with full service meat departments and that's so if we want a cut a specific way due to what we're cooking or how we're cooking it that we can get it I have been coming to the store for quite some time I have not dealt with this gentleman often however it has taken a severe back slide in customer service and presentability as well as care for its customers and and I've been the typical Customer. That's just their complaint when I found ribeye steaks at door full prize still marked under to the sale price of 8.99. I would've gladly jumped on it rather than let the employee and the counter know and chose a lesser cut when that higher cut was offered at the sales price. read more

This Stater Brothers used to be pretty run down! I've always gone just for meat because the store just didn't seem to have the same stuff as Ralph's, Vons and Albertsons, but always had a good meat case. Now, I go for everything! They remodeled and stayed open during the construction! Watching the improvements slowly but surely was pretty cool! The store is m really awesome! It's so nice and modern and clean! The flooring is awesome! The restrooms have a code to get in now and are much cleaner and actually useable! They have added new things that have really put the store up there on quality. They have a sushi station, a nice Linda of deli- fruit- salsa- I don't know what you call it station. Lol It's pretty cool! They have fresh made salsa- guacamole- dips- potato salad- you name it. They now have a really well set up self check out that runs smoothly as well. They have one way in and one way out which I bet has really helped with detouring the theft! I don't think I've been to another big grocer other than Frazier Farms ( my go to for special items) and probably going to make Stater Brothers my new mail grocery store! read more

So I started coming here when they remodeled. I stopped going to Albertsons because they allow vagrants to hang out in front, and pee all over ( please see my Albertsons review from 2 years ago ) . When they remodeled, I actually pulled the store manager aside and commented on how clean and inviting his store is. NO MORE ! Recently, they have been allowing the vagrants to pee on the building and cook in the sidewalk ( I called the Police ) today there are FOUR of them out front and one actually sitting in the road in front. As a consumer, I and not putting up with this. I will start going to Carlsbad to shop if you allow this to continue ! The city has done a pretty good job the last two years making them unwelcome, and crime is down too. We need to be proactive and protect our way of life. We have been going to Stater Brothers Market on Mission Ave in Oceanside, ever since we moved here 12 years ago. It is clean, has reasonable prices, and the clerks are friendly and kind. Since the big remodel and expansion of the store, it now has the more modern departments: a nice deli with lots of ready made food to take home, a bakery, and a beautiful produce department. I have mobility issues and can't walk well now, so we order our groceries using their app. It's very easy to do and then we just pick up the filled bags at the store. They offer excellent prices and a wide variety of ethnic food choices, making it easy to find ingredients for any dish. We love visiting the meat department. Always fresh meat and the butchers are always great at answering any questions we have. The recent remodel in 2024 has given the store a fresh and beautiful new look. It's definitely a place where you can buy a lot for less compared to other markets. The market is always clean and well-organized, making for a pleasant shopping experience. A special shoutout to the Deli - their chicken and sides are a must-try! Overall, Stater Bros. Market is a fantastic place to shop and I highly recommend it. read more

During December 24th, I was shocked that Stater bros tried to sell too highest price of eggs like $44 for 60 eggs and $13 for 18 eggs and $9.79 for 12 eggs. Later, I went to Costco, I found 60 eggs for only $13.59 and 24 eggs for $5.48. I feel like Stater bros is gouging our $$. They get excused by blamed bird flu then they pumped price to highest $$$. Beautiful store , lots of choices for a quick lunch. Friendly staff , especially Brandon or Brenden (cashier) always treats his customers with respect and kindness. I went through his line the day before Thanksgiving, and I'm sure he must of been tired after working one of the busiest days of the year but it didn't show . WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS FOR OVERCHARGING! We purchased 4 twelve packs of root beer per the "sales tag" requirements, only to be over charged (AGAIN) at the register. My husband even took a photo of the shelf tag (because its happened before) and was told it "was last weeks tag" and then refused to honor their mistake so we returned the product - it happens a LOT. *I also work for a grocery store* and we would have honored the shelf tag's price, it's SIMPLE customer service that keeps customers coming back to spend their money. Literally the best place (aside from small local butcheries) for meat. I've been shopping here weekly, and the guys in the meat department are always friendly and helpful. Actually, everyone is... I've been greeted along the aisles as well as by the check-out staff. This weeks' visit to the meat counter prompted my review. Two people immediately acknowledged me and came over to assist; they decided the 2nd guy to make eye contact would help me while the other went back to cutting beef. I asked for a chuck roast, and the guy behind us exclaimed, "I'm cutting that right now! I got a good one over here. How much do you want?!" I took the whole chunk, almost 5 pounds. The aisles are wide, the selections vast, and I always find everything I'm looking for. There's often sales on items, and they automatically put in a phone number for deals which is fantastic. Overall, a lovely market; clean and fully stocked. Customer service puts it at a solid 5-stars for me. read more

Wow, what a makeover! They completely gutted the place, inside & out. There are so many options now...they even have on-demand sushi! Prices could be a bit better, but I think they are elevated to pay for the refurb. Still, I love all the small customized containers of ceviches, shrimp cocktails, salsas, veggies, you name it! They are great for stop-and-go pickups, quick dinners, etc. Everyone's busy nowadays. Who has time to "cook"! Super Low Emphasis on Customer Service! We shop here regularly based on the location near our home, but wish the remodel wasn't just an exterior update. Very few checkers and after 9pm they refuse to help you except self checkout which works very poorly...constant errors with items and produce...taking way longer to actually get your groceries. I have been in this store several times over the past few years, with my adult son who frequents the place and usually for a couple of specific items. I needed to stay at his home for a week and hang out with the wee one while the parents were away. The wee one and I went grocery shopping together to pick out some foods for the two of us. It was on January 1st. Being a holiday the store was obviously short staffed, but we had no problems interacting with staff. I hit up the deli section, where only one young man was working. After he helped a couple of other customers he greeted us. I told him I could see he was running the entire area solo and commended him for working the holiday, having an amicable demeanor and being efficient all while working solo. After traversing the store and picking up several items we made it to the fresh produce section. While looking at bananas the employee there greeted us with a smile and asked if he could help us with anything. The cashier also had the same pleasant demeanor as the other two noted employees. Maybe they all were feeling some great New Year vibes because they were getting holiday pay, I don't know, but regardless I felt like a valued customer and appreciated it. I frequent our local Stater Bros and the employees are always good to go, so I am thinking it must be SOP for this company to have decent employees. Because the store manager has been doing an extremely excellent job with organization being organized keeping the store looking beautiful which helps the customers to have a great experience. Another reason why I like to shop here at Stater Brothers in Oceanside on Mission Avenue because the store manager is a multicultural manager why? Because out of all the shopping stores that I have been to over a decade this is the only one that has all nationalities as employees everyone seem to be on one Accord everyone seems to have the same spirit. I shop at Stater Bros every week. They have really good meat and the staff at the meat counter are very helpful and friendly. Everyone is friendly inside Stater Bros. The store is big, clean, and well organized. The only problem I had was outside the store with an employee collecting carts. I was done with my shopping cart, and I saw a young male employee collecting carts. So I walked toward him to give him my cart. I smiled and said hello. He saw me and walked right past me with his phone blasting rap music. He collected an empty cart just a few feet in front of me and walked past me and rolled it into the cart coral. He made sure I saw what he did. Then he walked to the other side of the parking lot to collect carts. I was tempted to abandon my cart there and walk away, but instead I put it in the cart coral. Other employees when they see customers with an empty cart, they will ask if you're done and will take the cart. read more

The store has gone through a remodel everything still feels very backwards but it looks nice. Having self checkout is great makes the experience way better by not making you wait in line all day. I finally got a chance to try their sushi it was great! 8/10 it's packaged nicely along with some soy sauce ginger and wasabi. They made an effort to separate everything by adding in some decorative grass to separate the sushi and the ginger but unfortunately it didn't work. The ginger seeped through and got on the sushi making it have a very strong flavor I wasn't expecting. I'm not a fan of ginger so really did not like that but overall the sushi tasted great really fresh. The cucumber inside the dish was still very crunchy which was shocking as my expectations were low. Wish they had a sandwich counter but they have definitely improved and made this an experience store. read more

I went to your store about 7:15 in the morning on a Monday. They had only one check stand open., and it wasn't express lane. Two people with carts full were in front of me and I was forced to use the self check out. I went there to beat the crowd so I could get in and out of there. I'm not from Oceanside. But my Stater Brothers, and my city the people greet you everybody who works there when you walk by them they greet you, good morning. Good afternoon good evening. Not one of the employees said anything. Even as I faced every item that that I bought. Meaning I pulled the product that was behind the product that I purchased and brought everything back up to the front of the shelf. I do this everywhere I go. But I digress, I ended up having to use the self check and I was there longer than I would've been if I've waited in line for the two carts full of groceries Ahead of me. Don't get me wrong. It's a beautiful store and it is fairly new. But people were rude and not helpful. This store just finished a large remodel inside and out . The exterior has been painted with all new signs and shopping carts As you walk in through the right of the store there is a new sushi restaurant. They offer custom orders or freshly premade to go items . We tried the Spivey tuna roll ( premade ) it was delicious! They also have Japanese appetizers as well ! We loved the sushi area. The bakery and deli were close by , lots of freshly baked cakes everywhere! This was the week of the grand opening and vendors were giving out samples . I tried the chips and guacamole made there fresh daily ! The meat department was huge and stocked up , they had some special on the Ribeye steaks , so I bought a package . The wood floors looked great . The signs and check stands were all new , plus they now offer self check out ! Every 15 minutes they were giving away a free bag of groceries to a random shopper checking out . Plenty of great customer service for anyone who couldn't find what they were looking for ! Quality control in the produce department is lacking big time!! 90% of the time the item my recipe calls for looks terrible. I end up having to switch up dinner since there's never enough time to go to a second grocery store for produce. The Laguinitas Stout beer keeps me coming back though. Sadly, they're usually out of that beer. The staff seems nice. Not too friendly, but nice. They all seem like hard workers. They could also use more than 2 registers open at a time. Bought some chicken wings today, when I opened the bag to marinate them, they were ROTTEN, they smelled so bad. Went back to the store, didn't even get an apology.
