I popped into Stater Bros. this evening with my daughter hoping to grab some wings -- imagine my surprise when the deli counter was out. Scott, the clerk behind the counter, could have said "sorry, we're closed out," but instead he smiled, agreed to make a fresh batch, and dropped six wings for me. He told me it would be about six minutes, and true to his word, those wings came out fresh and delicious. Small thing? Maybe. But for a tired, working mom who'd had a rough day, it meant the world. While I waited, Kelly greeted me at the counter. I asked for a single scoop of macaroni (I have an illness, so one scoop is plenty), and instead of the usual eye-roll some of us get for asking "not the whole scoop," she made me feel seen and welcome. She served me with a smile and genuine kindness -- customer service that actually looks like customer service. There were other customers being helped, and when they realized the wings needed a little extra time, they apologized, took accountability, and even gave me a few extra wings while I waited. Again -- just wings, right? But sometimes it's the little things that brighten the whole evening. I walked out feeling cared for, not just processed. Andrea rung me up -- always pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable, with that kind of calm smile that makes a checkout line less chaotic. Customer service seems to have gone missing in many places, but this Stater Bros. location still has it at its core, even on the night shift. I've requested the store survey and hope it comes through, but in the meantime I wanted to make sure Scott and Kelly (and Andrea!) get the shout-out they deserve. I'll be stopping in tomorrow to tell the store manager in person how much this small act of kindness meant to me -- because sometimes all it takes is fresh wings and a friendly smile to turn a day around. Not many starter bros I've been to have much to complain about. Meat prices have been decent these days compared to other local places. Veggies are always cold and fresh. Service is usually good, especially when they have a lot of registers open to sped patrons through. Just avoid shopping around dinner time. read more

Cashier/ "manager" Brandy is extremely rude and does things out of complete spite towards customers. She is extremely disrespectful and she does not deserve to be a manager. She forces other employees to deny service to long time loyal, respectful customers for absolutely no reason other than she wants to feel in control and be petty. She tells lies about customers and talks bad about them to the other employees and managers when they leave. She ignores customers at ti as she has personal side conversations about her life with the baggers and doesn't even engage with customers. But as for the rest of the store and employees and managers, they deserve the 5 stars! read more

DO NOT ENTER! The cashier my grandmother and I got today was so rude and grouchy I couldn't believe my eyes. No "hello", no "have a nice day", just looks up and down and daggers. The woman was wearing rainbow wrist bands and her partner in crime (the older bagger) was dead silent with a deep scowl. I will not be returning as this kind of customer service is unacceptable. Senior citizens like my grandma should not be treated in this manner! I will give kudos to the greeter at the door, she was an older lady with class, she was super polite! Give her a raise because she was the only one who showed up for work. As for the store, it's large and has a lot of fresh groceries. I went the San Jacinto Stater Brother's and the checker in line 1 called for customer service. This checker pulled the lady behind me not inside of me not even acknowledging me. Went to store of San Jacinto St., Hemet, Ca because I knew they would have all the items I needed for my recipe. Found their prices HIGH, as I've been going to other stores with cheaper prices. I refused to pay $3.99 for fresh strawberries. I was surprised to see Customer service representative was bagging groceries and their was another Customer Service greeter at the front entrance. Years of shopping experience, I consider myself a professional shopper, always eyes open for bargains. But geez, today, Oct 9 '25, I fell for the old price tag gimmick supermarkets frequently do. They put a sale price tag together from different companies to deceive the customers into buying items that eliminates sale price. Example, Lays were $2.49 a bag but required to buy 4. I get 3 Lays but next to Lays section was a Ruffles brand at same $2.49 and again required to buy 4, which I thought was same company. So thinking both prices were same brand, I find out after I checked out I paid full price, $4.49 for the Lays and $5.49 for the one Ruffles. Disappointed, not one to return items or complain, I accepted the mistake and figured my shopping skills need slight refinement. So watch out for price tag manipulations these supermarkets frequently do. I won't be buying chips from Staters for awhile, and it's my primary supermarket. Will buy chips from Cardenas across street or Walmart just south. And the cashier usually lets customers know when wrong sales items are purchased for an opportunity to replace but this one didn't. read more

I like going to the Stater Brothers. It's usually not crowded and most people are friendly except Tim He's been working there for a long time. He says hello to the person in front of me. I say hello to him twice when it's my turn to pay and he doesn't say anything and then when I'm leaving, he says hello to the lady behind me. Really tired of Racist Cashier named Theresa. At first I ignored her ignorance but this time she went too far. So far that other workers around her were bothered and reacted towards her selfishness and bad attitude. Seems like the help baggers are afraid to speak up to her but some of us in line seen them shaking their heads and can hear them this time speaking negative about the way she treats others that are not the same race as her. It's so disgusting to watch as she only chooses to acknowledge her race and never greats or speaks to others the same way. She took it too far this time as she asked a Latino man in line behind her to excuse her as she was leaving the register to clock out and she literally pushed the man's cart out of the way and did not care to bring it back to him. A Southern California staple, stater brothers is a way better choice to grocery shop in comparison to Walmart and target. It's horrible that these supermarkets are crushing mom and pop type grocery stores. The customer service is excellent and despite groceries costing a little more than big box supermarkets, it's well worth it to shop here! Unfortunately there is very little in the way of supermarkets in hemet/sanjacinto. But out of all the stater bros I've been to this one has the longest lines you will see. Don't take my word for it. I recently left my cart full of groceries and walked out letting the gentleman in the brown vest know, he seemed more interested in getting back to his convo. The organic food selection is horrible. It puts a bad rap on eating organic. Figure out how to make these desirable foods attractive and find better growers...please I have to tread lightly here with this review because I have to take many things into consideration such as not to be invited back to the store because I think they know me by now. I do my limited essential shopping here. I do have to agree with the many of the assorted comments below in the other reviews. I always leave feeling that I could have had a better shopping experience. I have come to "perceive" this may be because the managers set the tone of this place. Chis and the other (assistant manager?)..I will find out, impress me as Wall Street "types"....monogrammed Brooks Bros. shirt sleeves, precision haircuts, pressed clothes (likely they their "unders" are pressed as well) so perfectly (spit shined) groomed as though they are going to a board meeting at J.P. Morgan. And their people skills are lacking I. I am even afraid to ask a question. This is Stater Bros. in San Jacinto, not VINTAGE GROCERS in Malibu, so don't act like you're managing a celebrity store. We are in cow shit country! I have gone to two different stores looking for Pepsi Zero in six pack bottles. I am starting to believe you have fallen into the WOKE stuff going on as I see plenty of Coca Cola products but hardly any Pepsi Zero's. I shouldn't have to drive all around Hemet and San Jacinto just to try and find Pepsi Zero, if you don't have enough of a product I would recommend buying more stock. Many of us have boycotted Coca Cola products due to their WOKE training of their employee's which means you might make more money if you carried more of the Pepsi products such as six pack bottles of Pepsi Zero. The young gentleman was working hard stocking shelves. He was very helpful in getting me more cases with a smile. This is a solid supermarket option in the greater Hemet/San Jacinto area. Fresh produce, good prices, and friendly workers. I was particularly impressed with the fresh picnic fare in the deli and bakery sections... this is a nice stop if you're stocking up for a blanket-based lunch in the sunshine up by Ramona Bowl, Slaughter Canyon, or even a day trip up towards Idlewild. This store (well, the parking lot) measures a 4.5/10 on the HRRS (Hemet Riff-Raff Scale)... I watched an assertive panhandler in a black hoodie work at least $15 bucks from customers in the parking lot, but he smiled a lot as he begged, and had no fewer than three different backstories. When he made his way over to my truck, I encouraged him to visit the homeless shelter on Menlo if he was hungry, and he left me alone...So not too bad. Not a lot of tweakers here either, which is nice. Mostly older folks, and not the usual parade of people you might find on Florida Ave. Nearby Walmart might attract most of the local flavor/fanfare/freakshow, so this is a better option for groceries, meats, and essentials. Keep your wits and watch your six, though. read more

One of my Staters stores in the area. Here's why. Most staters locations are always so packed the lines are ridiculous. This one is pretty fast and painless. It gets busy, but the cashiers are always plentiful and quick. The guys (and gals) behind the meat counter are really helpful! They are always willing to go the extra mile for customer service! It is always well stocked and clean! There aren't that many creepy people lingering around the parking lot, and it is close to other stores/locations where I run my errands. I really like this location. I drive the extra few miles to avoid the other store near my house to come here! read more

I have been to this stater bros location one time and I have to admit that its the best service that I have ever seen. the store is big, clean, nice and the fruit is fresh. I had one of the employees help me which was Zoly from the fruits department and she was very nice, helpful and made sure I got what I needed. I didn't see any blueberries outside in the store, so I saw Zoly and I asked her to help me, she went inside and grabbed the blueberries. Then I asked her if I am able to wash them. she let me go in the back and wash them and made sure I was satisfied and that I didn't need any help. thank you for the great service Zoly. read more

This is not normally the stater bros I shop, however I stopped in late last night to get a last minute birthday cake. The bakery was already closed, however, the deli girl went above and beyond and assisted me in finding a cake. I was asking a bunch of questions and she was so very helpful, patient and polite to me and another customer. I did not catch her name, but remember she was a young blonde girl who works deli and this was around 9pm on Aug 2nd. Please let her know she is valued!! I live very close to this Stater Bros and I really like it! Sometimes it is a bit exspensive for me and the prices keep going up. I adore the Bakery! This is my local stater bros unfortunately. I have gone in and often the lines are long. My husband refuses to shop at this location and instead will drive all the way to the Ramona expressway and State location to avoid the lines. I went in on Friday and wanted Chicken from the deli. As usual the chicken that was in the display didn't appear to be fresh. I was assisted (if thats what you want to call it) by Nicole. She is the sole reason why im ssooo glad aldis is around the corner. I asked her if there was any more chicken and she looked at the chicken in the display and responded "well thats all I see". I honestly don't understand the reason for the sarcasm. I immediately advised the manager as to what she said. He was shocked that she said that to me...well imagine how shocked i was, as a customer. Stater bros dominates this area but i normally don't shop at Walmart for groceries but between Walmart and Aldis, im sure my grocery needs can ve met.
