Was looking for a place that I could watch the PSU Basketball game and Station 21 was recommended to us. When we got there, there was some confusion on whether or not we could go in with the kids (15, 9), they allowed us to. I only write this, as I would imagine if it was busier or maybe a fri/sat night, they may not allow kids in there. We ordered wings, BBQ/Cajun, Crab Quesadilla, and burger with truffle fries. Food was good, truffle fries were delicious, and burger was delicious. The cajun seasoning that they used for the wings were very tasty. Everything else was good, but nothing out of this world. This has been a go for our family for a couple years. Pretty disappointed the past couple times. Food has been mediocre at best. My husband and son got the chicken sandwich tonight and it was so thin they could barely taste chicken. For $13 I would think you could get an actual chicken breast sandwich. Went to have dinner with friends on Friday, November 11th. It was busy but no wait and we sat upstairs. Our waitress, wish I remembered her name, was wonderful! Very friendly and attentive. Never felt rushed, so I could enjoy my company. The manager came over at least twice to check on us too. I ordered the Station 21 burger and it was cooked perfectly and you could tell it was a real burger, not a hockey puck patty. Fries were crispy and delicious. I have driven past Station 21 a zillion times, and recently had the chance to try it. The service was good, and the restaurant was clean, but the food was mediocre at best. It's not that the food was bad, but it wasn't really good either. The standout dish at the table was the macaroni and cheese kids meal that my three year old had. That was the only thing that was worth raving about. The rest of the meals ordered consisted of a chicken sandwich, patty melt, and cheeseburger...which were all something I could've prepared in my own kitchen with moderate effort. Don't get me wrong, I think this place has the potential to be great. They have a great location, great staff, but they really need to cut out 25-35% of their menu, focus on creating some signature dishes that customers can't get enough of, and really shine as a top destination to dine out in Crown Point. read more

Great food. The salmon was delicious. The Brussel sprouts appetizers were great. I wish they had a larger parking area. They also need to add some vegan options to their menu. Many people today are trying to eat healthier either by personal choice or by doctors orders. That means less SALT, OIL and SUGAR in their meals. While I am mostly Vegan I will occasionally have salmon if there is nothing else to choose from the menu. They also need to get better coffee, it tasted like mud. I know that most people going to a sports bar drink alcohol so good coffee is not high on their list. Overall I enjoyed the food and would recommend it to others. read more

This is a review based on what I ate but does not reflect the staff. My waitress was very attentive and nice so I would give her 5 stars. It was not her fault that the food was not awesome. My bill came to $25.00 and I'm the only one that ate. I had a drink, onion rings, chicken Caesar salad, chili and a dessert. Onion rings-- delicious!! They were nicely fried. they had a perfect crispness to them that I enjoy. The sauce was not very good though. I was starting to wonder what everyone's problem was that the stars were so low. I figured it out. Chili-- ok it was thick but there was almost no meat. It was beans with a thick sauce. It was also VERY spicy! It had a good flavor but I literally put 2 things of sour cream in there and it was burning my mouth! I admit I'm a spice wuss but another lady said the same thing to her friend at the table next to me. When chili is on the menu near the soups it should be mild for all tastes. They have hot sauce right on the table... Chicken Caesar Salad-- WTF man? At first the chicken seemed decent enough. After tasting a few bites it was super salty!! It was slightly rubbery though it was cooked and it was juicy so it must have been either pre-cooked or frozen. The Caesar dressing was not garlicky at all. Honestly after I eat this kind of salad I expect to knock people over when I breathe in a 5 ft radius! The croutons were RYE... Yes, you read that right. Not garlic, not Caesar croutons, not even seasoned... They were RYE bread croutons. They were good but not for a Caesar salad! Dessert-- I don't always have dessert but the menu said "strawberry cheesecake parfait" so I said "yes please!" No, no, no... The top layer seems to be cool whip that melted. There was a yummy fresh strawberry on top but that is where the goodness ended. Under the melty cool whip there was a cream cheese weird milky layer. Cannot describe it. This was made in advance because the fresh strawberries in the middle had 'juiced' and made the texture unpleasant. I cannot say that I would come back. I came here because my hubby had to have me wait for him while he was on a job. I wish I would have said "before you leave me let me look at the reviews!!" During the COVID-19 pandemic I have been trying to support all our local restaurants. This one is literally within walking distance to me. Been here before on my birthday and felt like it was REALLY bad service but I figured what the heck, I'll give it another go. I ordered two appetizers and potato soup for pickup. I go to get my food and was spoken to horribly by The teenagers working there because I apparently wasn't suppose to come in the door. So I waited outside, was brought my food and handed my change without a word spoken to me. I get home to eat my food, calamari's soggy w grease and mixture of condensation, there's no eating utensils even though I asked for them,. And no soup. (Tuna was good) so i called and asked for the manager and explained the situation, literally could only eat the tuna the calamari was completely inedible. So the manager " Andy" basically just says sorry and that he can not refund or partial refund or anything like that .. didn't offer to remake my food either! Basically just said if I come back next time mention this to " A manager" and they will .. " take care of me" ( no explanation of how, that was it) wow! I was still hungry after the 6 bite sized pieces of ahi tuna And so I had to go back out and spend more money on dinner. For this horrible way that i was treated, their lack of attention to my order and the awful service I will definitely never be back and will also tell everyone I know of this free terrible experience. I was already having no so great a day and really looking forward to relaxing with my food, all I wanted was for it to be made right. Incredibly disappointing from our previous experiences. We moved into this area in June of 2017. Each time we would come look at perspective houses, this place is where we would come to eat. Then everything that we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. Unfortunately I can no longer make that proclamation. This will be the 3rd time we have left disappointed. Whomever is preparing the food needs to get some culinary classes, spend a day with Gordon Ramsay or just find a spice rack or at the very least some salt & pepper. My repetition in ordering entrees is a keen sign when something isn't prepared correctly or attention to details are missed. Even after expressing our concerns to the management, I don't feel adequately compensated for the kitchen error as they have noted on the receipt. One can only hope they recognize and fix the problem. Until that happens, I will have to think twice about returning. read more

This establishment is a very refreshing change from the otherwise bland and uninspired offerings in the surrounding area. The menu is filled with moderately priced but delicious offerings, one of the burgers comes with half an avocado, and the mac and cheese with pork is to die for. It's very refreshing to find a place that is smoke free in an other wise smoke filled bar scene. As a native of Crown Point who now lives in Chicago I will be frequenting this place EVERY time I come to town as nothing in the area comes close to the atmosphere, and food. read more

So I went here with my niece for dinner tonight. The mozzarella sticks were cold and we just mentioned it to the waitress when she asked and she apologized. I wasn't expecting anything when we mentioned they were a little cold, just wanted to make her aware to let the kitchen know. However, she mentioned she would talk to her manager about it and would see if he would take it off the bill. When the bill came, the mozzarella sticks weren't removed from the bill and to top it off she charged 40 cents for a small 2oz side of garlic dressing. I didn't say anything, but since we had complained about the mozzarella sticks being cold, one would think the logical thing to do would be to not charge me 40 cents for the dressing. Further, I would have expected the manager to come by and apologize for the mistake, assuming the waitress notified management. Because that's what management should do when there is a complaint about anything. This is just good business. So rather than have a customer who might come back because of excellent customer service, they will now have a customer who will never return and will tell everyone he knows to not patronize the restaurant, this over 40 cents worth of garlic dressing. read more

Stopped in here for lunch when I was in between meetings in Crown Point based on the previous reviews but had a really bad experience on Friday. Ordered a diet Pepsi, baked potato soup and the buffalo chicken salad (no tomatoes). The best part of my meal was my diet Pepsi. The baked potato soup came out quick but tasted like it was a can of chunky soup. My salad was brought out and it was ALL field greens. There was NO lettuce in this salad. (Disappointment #1). There were at least two handfuls of tomatoes put in the bottom of the salad. (Disappointment #2). When the waitress came back she saw there were tomatoes and asked "did you want tomatoes"...I told her no. She said "oh" and walked off before I could send the salad back. Even though tomatoes make sick to my stomach when I eat them...I tried to pick around the tomatoes to eat what I could but because there were so many tomatoes scattered through the salad I couldn't take more than a few bites before giving up. When I sent the salad back the bowl was almost completely full and I thought the waitress would try to fix the mistake. Nope...she just figured I was full and couldn't eat anymore tomatoes. When the check came...I got to pay for the salad that I couldn't eat. (Disappointment #3) Advice for management/owners...my reaction to tomatoes is mild...i get naseu and maybe get sick. There are people out there that have more severe food allergies than I do...ignoring someone's food requests in similar instances could put someone in the hospital. read more

No stranger to this place and it is always hit or miss, but our last experience will probably be our last experience for a while. We went in on New Year's Day for dinner. Wasn't too busy, a few tables open and we were seated right away. Took almost 10 minutes before someone realized we were there and told us our server was busy but would be with us shortly. Same girl came back 5 minutes later and said that she was going to be our server and asked us about drinks. After 5 minutes or so, our drinks showed up and she took our app and dinner order. After another 10-15 minutes we were informed that they didn't have any more of the apps we ordered (fried pickles), so we switched to mozzarella sticks that were not very good. My wife and I only get the Mac and cheesy every time we go and 99% of the time it's awesome... this time not only was it bland but it was really soupy. My oldest son ordered a chicken sandwich and we asked for no grilled onions on it. The server asked if he wanted no onions at all and he said yes. Came out still covered in onions. My youngest ordered the boneless chicken wings and they were the saddest 5 little pieces of chicken I'd ever seen. We finished dinner and had to wait another 15-20 minutes for the check so we could leave. It really seems like the quality there has slowly been getting worse over the course of the last year. Until we hear consistent positive reviews from friends, we won't be back. read more

Would give this place zero stars if possible but the fact that they have more negative reviews than the positive should speak for itself. I have worked in many successful restaurants and have never seen something so awful as an establishment. Cooks don't wear gloves or hair nets. No date labels used on any food products. No time limits on anything that needs to remain cold. You can guarantee that ranch dressing you get at 9pm has been sitting in melted ice since 10am. Cross contamination everywhere. Staff instructed to save boxes after they fall on floor. Wine, meat, fish etc are not dated or checked before serving. Staff bus plates and used silverware and straws with bare and hands and have no where to wash hands after doing so. NO WHERE! Disgusting. Managers openely talking about sexual content where staff and customers are involved. GM has no idea what he is doing and unfortunately will run this place into the ground. The owners have a great thing, are intelligent in the business aspect of things and food has potential to be great but sadly he will be the death of it. Can't keep staff because of mistreatment behind closed doors. Treats staff awful, asks customers to move in the middle of their meal, accuses customer complains as just trying to get free product. No training manual provided upon hire to staff, but staff is reprimanded for rules they were never informed of. Worked here one week and witnessed more health and safety violations than anywhere I have ever worked. Voiced these concerns and was fired for it. Check out trip advisor, Facebook and yelp reviews for comments that can't be paid to remove. Guarantee management will try to justify these claims as "lies" but find me one sink, date label, pair of gloves or hair nets on anyone in the place on a random night. Can't lie about things that are visible to the naked eye and out in the open. Hopefully the owners can take these things into account and get back to having the station 21 that the community loved. read more

Zero stars would be more appropriate! I have a small support dog, who is FEDERALLY protected and registered. My sister went in ahead of us and informed the staff of my dog. She was in a stroller and not running loose, she is very quiet and well behaved, and as I said, REGISTERED as a service/support animal. We were waiting on a table when the Manager ( Haley Arnold) came up to me and asked what service my dog provided, I told her, she informed me they do not allow support/service dogs of "her kind" in their restaurant. I informed her she was Federally registered, and protected from this exact situation, even showing her my registration card for this animal. She still refused to allow me to have her with me! After arguing with me for several minutes, she said " Well, let me make a phone call to make sure" I told her "No! It's too late for that, she had already denied me service with my service/support animal, that I will be leaving to go somewhere else and would not be back! I cannot believe this place has any good reviews. Not to knock my fellow Yelpers, but do you people not ever go out to other restaurants in the NWI area? This place is absolutely terrible. I went the first time about 2 years ago with my kids and remember my children & I not liking the food (I think they had mac & cheese) and the service was bad on the main floor. Well, my girlfriend was told by her friend that this place is really good now (thanks Juju, not!!!) so we decided to go today for lunch. Sat upstairs, were waited on quickly, appetizer of calamari came and the flavors were good with the giardiniera and Sriracha, but the calamari was very rubbery with a couple of pieces that were inedible. Ok, waited a good 15 minutes for the main course with our soda glasses empty and our dirty dishes waiting to be taken. Good thing we didn't sit on the patio, as 1 table had to come in and order at the bar because their waitress was M.I.A. I received my sandwich which was supposed to have seared, rare tuna on it. It was cooked just about all the way through which made it extremely dry. Not a lot of it so the sandwich was basically an avocado sandwich with dry tuna. The fries were cold & hard. How can you f up fries, c'mon man! My lady had the spinach salad and she said it was ok, but lacked any flavor. Here's a tip - when it's sweltering hot outside, turn on the air conditioning. There was plenty to not like on my trip to Station 21, but by far the lack of AC on a 100 degree day is most disconcerting. When I asked the server what the deal was, she just roller her eyes and said "There's nothing I can do. Sorry!" This means either A) The A/C is busted or B) The owner/manager of the place is looking to save a buck by keeping the A/C on 79 degrees. The food? Not very good. How do you mess up a well done cheeseburger? Cold french fries? Really? These are basics and should be prepared correctly. The salad was lettuce - and not much more. Would it kill you to put a couple of olives or something in it? One ring of onion for a cheeseburger is unacceptable. The atmosphere? The only positive I have about this place is that the decor is modern and looks good. Without a comfortable temperature, though, it's impossible to get settled in. Do you know what it's like sitting in a leather booth when the ambient temperature is north of 85 degrees? Swamp-ass city. The service? Not bad, but when your waitress is sweating bullets (there were beads of sweat rolling down her arm) you kind of feel, well, gross. This person will be handling your food, you DO NOT want a big drop of sweat topping your chopped salad. I actually felt sorry for this poor girl. The price? Way too much for what you get, but not overly expensive. The bottom line? Could be a great place based on location and decor, but as it stands I would highly recommend Station 21 for a spot on "Restaurant Impossible."
